The Unique Benefits of this House
Green Lake is a very clean, deep, spring-fed lake. The water is great for swimming from the beginning of June until the middle of October. The lake is great for canoeing and kayaking as well as for motorized water sports. It is a popular lake for fishing.

Perfect Summer Stay!

Idyllic Vacation certainly describes our stay last summer near Ellsworth, Maine. This property was clean and well-maintained and even more than the photos and description portray. Our relatives, dogs, my husband, and I all had an absolutely fabulous week at the lake. We all swam, boated, enjoyed the hot tub, and had absolutely wonderful cookouts in the adequately stocked kitchen and grill/deck. The owner was extremely helpful with all of our questions and the neighbors were very friendly with restaurant recommendations and other activities near by. The boat launch is the perfect distance and the dock was perfect for our needs. We have already booked our 2 weeks this time for this summer, and we can't wait to dine again at the local Chart Room and see our relatives for more summer fun. Other properties are LONG drives around the lake to get into Ellsworth - this drive is MUCH more accomodating for our needs to get into town and see our family there. We can't wait for July!

It goes without saying that this house could offer the perfect summer vacation-- in a quiet lakefront setting complete with its own canoe and outdoor hot tub. But we discovered that it also provides the perfect winter retreat!! The following were just some of the high points of our getaway with two young children: *Sledding down the hill alongside the house onto the frozen lake *Marching out onto the lake among the various ice fishing huts. One fisherman came by and explained the ins and outs of ice fishing and gave a tour of his hut. * Going for an afternoon run on the crusty snow-capped ice, circling around an island and returning back to the house *Cross country skiing on fresh snow * Curling up next to the woodstove inside to play board games *Hot tubbing under endless stars and later, under the light falling snow *Making delicious meals in a kitchen stocked with every utensil and appliance one might need We SO enjoyed our stay here and hope to return soon.
