Casa del Mar, our elegant yet comfortable home with private pool, is a 2-3 minute walk to the beach. It provides a tranquil escape and is ideal for family gatherings and entertaining. It is located in a quiet neighborhood on a large lot with beautiful landscaping. The rooms are bright and spacious and many have magnificent views of the ocean, sound or marsh.
There are warm heart pine floors throughout, 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, a huge master suite with loft and luxury bath. The first level has an open floor plan with kitchen, dining and great room and one bedroom. There is also a private bath on this level which accesses the pool.
The elevated private pool and large deck can be accessed from all of these rooms and there is lots of room and privacy for everyone. The kitchen has stainless steel upgraded appliances, granite counters and beautiful cabinetry. There is a dining room adjacent to the kitchen that can accommodate eight people comfortably. The dining room and living room lead to a covered porch with ocean views.
This level also features a bedroom that sleeps 2 and overlooks the pool. There is also a queen-size pull-out sofa in the living room.
Casa del Mar has surround sound in every room and on the pool deck. The gas grill and ice maker are also conveniently located on the pool deck.
The living room has a 50 inch flat-screen TV and DVD player. The full-size washer and dryer are located on the upper level and a freezer is on the garage level.
The second level features the master suite with loft, plus one additional bedroom. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, walk-in closet, 50 inch flat-screen TV with DVD player, and luxury bath with whirlpool tub, his/her vanities and separate shower enclosure. There is a covered porch off the master suite.
The third bedroom has its own private bath and a covered porch, and sleeps four with a double bed and one set of twin bunk beds. It faces West and the sunsets are to die for.
Harbor Island is ideal for watching the dolphins and shrimp boats, walking, biking, crabbing or just lazing around.
There is a pool and racquet club and tennis courts within a five-minute walk from the house. The beach is 2.5 miles of white sand and the ocean is calm. Casa del Mar also comes with use of a private golf cart for exploring the island.

Why the Owner Chose Harbor Island
We chose Harbor Island because of the beach, the tranquility of the area and also because if its location. It is situated between Charleston, SC and Savannah Georgia two of the most historic cities in the South. Notwithstanding that Beaufort, SC has many colorful and historic sites.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We enjoy the peace and quiet of the area; the low country food and the weather. There is always an ocean breeze at our home and we are never hot and uncomfortable. We also enjoy the many varieties of birds which choose to nest in the area, including egrets, herons and pelicans. There are also numerous smaller birds who visit. Namely, humming birds, chickadees, cardinals and buntings.

My husband and I currently live in the busy Washington, DC metro area. Actually in Alexandria, Virginia. We hunted for years for a second home and could never find anything that quite fit. We were invited by friends to Harbor Island, SC and from the first time my husband and I stepped foot on the island, we fell in love with it. We were amazed by the 2.5 of silver sand beach, which is never crowded; the beautiful palm trees and vegetation and the myriad of colorful homes throughout the island. It reminded us of Barbados. We knew that one day we wood purchase a home here. Our family, both the young and young at heart love the calm ocean, the beach and watching the shrimp boats and dolphins. We hope that one day you will visit and see for yourself.

Cant say enough about out stay at Casa del Mar at Harbor Island. The beach, hse, and pool were perfect. It was peaceful, adult and kid freindly. The walk to the beach was pretty and short. We took our lunch our and sat in our chairs under canopy and enjoyed the waves beauty of all of Harbor Island. Walked on the beach and found beautiful seashells. When the tide starts going out it is perfect for younger children to play and feel safe in the ocean. Enjoyed touring the island in the golf cart and after a day at the beach would come in shower down stairs prepare dinner and go swimming the the pool right outside our door. Great! The pictures shown on the internet are just what the house looks like. The porches were great! We sat out and had our coffee and enjoyed the views and the breeze. The guards at the entrance were very nice. We thank you Christine for all your help and kindness. We ALL loved it at, 1Mickey Alley. Thanks!

It’s back to the real world after spending a relaxing and magnificent, hopefully traditional, week at Casa del Mar on Harbor Island. We’ve traveled to numerous locations and pictures often lean towards exaggeration. HOWEVER, was NOT the case at One, Mickey’s Alley. It was even finer than the pictures. The Ricketts have every bell and whistle covered to enhance the stay and so congenial in working out the arrangements. An evening ride on the golf cart & the private pool at the end of the day were special moments. While convenient to other cities, restaurants, etc., we could hardly tear ourselves away (though the guys did get in some golf & fishing). Not a soul wanted to leave.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children.

This home is as beautiful as it appears in its pictures. The owner is very attentive and a pleasure to deal with. The location is great - right next to the beach and close to Savannah, Charleston and Hilton Head without the hassle of their crowds. A very quiet, relaxing and comfortable place to return to after exploring a beautiful and historic area. We have already booked our return visit next summer.

Our family of 6 vacationed here June 27th thru July 3rd. The house was very comfortable. It is large enough for everyone to have privacy. The master bedroom suite was a wonderful retreat from the rest of the house. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise each morning and on the opposite side of the room you could enjoy the sunset in the evening. The spa tub offered a relaxing soak at the end of the day. The two other bedrooms were bright and cheery and serviced by their own baths. The living area of the home was roomy and comfortable. Our family enjoys music, so the surrond sound was a bouns. We enjoyed lounging by the pool in the mornings and our afternoons were spent at the beach. With a well appointed kitchen and a wonderful gas grill, we prepared almost all of our meals at the house. The freash produce and local seafood are abundant. We even took advantage of the freezer in the garage area to freeze some of the freash shrimp to bring home. The home is beautifully landscaped with many different flowering plants that the local birds seem to enjoy. We enjoyed taking a tour of the island by golf cart in the evenings. The homes are all unique. Our kids took their bikes and enjoyed riding in the evenings. The location of the house gives you easy acess to the beach. We also enjoyed exploring Hunting Island State Park and the lighthouse. You know it is a good vacation when you wish you had another week. We would highly recommend this home.

We stayed at Casa Del Mar in June 2009 and were so pleased. The owners were exceptionally helpful and gracious. The house is lovely and comfortable, with a fantastic layout and easy proximity to the beach and the community pool. Our children loved the private pool and the bunkbeds, while we loved the beautiful views, the fantastic master suite, and the gourmet kitchen. We've stayed on both Harbor and Fripp Island a number of times and this home is by far our favorite! We hope to come back soon!

Miss Christine - This house rocks. I love this house. I had so much fun. I slept upstairs. I loved the view. I enjoyed swimming in the pool and the beach and the walk way. It is just so close and the big bool. I had so much fun riding the golf cart. It was my first time on one. Me and my parents went out on the beach in the morning. It was fun. This will sound wierd but I liked watching the fans in the living room. It was good in Beaufort and I had a great time.

Our goup ranged from 94 years old to 5 years old and we all had a super time. The rocking chair porches with ocean breezes and the private pool were often used and greatly enjoyed. Your home is lovely and very convenient to ocean and eating establishments. We really enjoyed eating at the Shrimp Shack - good food, no frills and an outdoor screened eating area. We are all leaving more relaxed and more rested than we came. We certainly hope to come back.

We stayed at the Casa Del Mar back in June, and it was lovely. The owner was so nice to work with from beginning to end. The kitchen was so well appointed and the wonderful porches were so nice to relax on. The pool club and the beach are such a quick walk from the house. We loved returning from the beach to the private pool. We had a wondeful vacation and hope to return soon. Thanks again for everything!!

This home is beautiful and very convenient to everything. It has never been rented out before, although I have stayed there many times. (Casa del Mar is my sister's vacation home and we spend our summer vacations together at Harbor Island). I am constantly amazed by the natural beauty of the community, the beach, the dolphins and the myriads of birds. We stay there a couple of times per year and we have made some very good friends in the community. It is great home with every convenience.
