  We stayed in this unit March of 2013. The condominium building was extremely well set up and very convenient, especially parking. The unit itself was very clean and nicely decorated. There is no pull out coach, so keep that in mind. The grounds were well maintained. The gym was slightly smaller than expected (no free weight) but it was nice to have it. The pool and hot tubs were gorgeous, it is unfortunate that they close the hot tubs at 10:30 though. All in all, it was a very nice stay and I would definitely stay in this unit again or in this building. Lastly, eat lunch at Sea N' Suds, it is inexpensive, but the portions are generous.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

  THis condo is excellent, not only is it top notch in it condition, but it is tastefully decorated, and in an excellent location! The beach is beautiful and easy to access. THe pools look clean and were in great shape (although it was too cold to use the outdoor pools). THe owner was readily available and answered questions via email quickly and left phone numbers if needed. I would HIGHLY recommend this condo!!!! We will try to rent it again if we come this way again!

  Our family decided to have a last minute fall getaway to the beach. We rented this condo at the the last minute.. and would strongly recommend this condo to anyone... It was very clean and very well maintained. Thanks for making our vacation wonderful !! Hope to stay in this condo again soon !!

  We rented this unit for a week in September. It is very nice and clean. A great view of the gulf. Close to everything. We have been to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach many times. We have stayed at The Lighthouse before and feel the property is first class. This year we had a 4 year old and a 1 year old with us and the zero entry pool was great for them. This is the first time we have rented through VRBO. The rental experience from beginning to end was very pleasant and easy. The owner, Dana, was very nice and easy to deal with. We are looking forward to another visit or two to the Gulf next year! We would definitely rent this unit again and would definitely use VRBO again.

  Great location, close to everything in Gulf Shores and to the State Park. Everything we needed was in the condo itself, and the amenities of the complex were great. The grandkids loved both pools, and the beach too. The owner, Dana, was fantastic to deal with, very responsive, and handled all of our questions. I'm sure we will be going back in the future.

  Recommended for: Families with young children.

  We had a wonderful time for the week we were there. The condo was absolutely perfect. Nice, clean, comfortable beds, etc. The beach was gorgeous and the weather was sunny and beautiful! We can't wait to go back next year! On two mornings we were able to see dolphins from our balcony! I would absolutely recommend this condo to anyone!

  We stayed at the unit in early October 2010 for a week and had a wonderful time. It was our first time to Gulf Shores in about 20 years and I had forgotten how beautiful the beach is...it's like powdered sugar and the water was crystal clear. We were worried about the BP mess but we didn't see a single oil blob in the water or on the beach. Actually, it puts our west coast beaches to shame. This unit is tastefully decorated with a beachy style that really made us feel like we were staying at a 5-star resort. It's spacious and bright with a fantastic view of the beach...incredible! We had breakfasts and lunches in the unit and they had all the necessary plates, dishes, etc. we needed. During the time were were there, the complex was quiet and not crowded. Really there's nothing negative I can say. The owners were pleasant to deal with by email and phone. We would definately stay in this unit again!

  My girlfriends and I rented this condo so we could get away for a little relaxation! Owner was very good to get back with me and finalize vacation. On the day before I tried to reach owner to see if we might check in a little early. The whole way down to beach I tried to call owner to check on early arrival. We go to the lighthouse at 12;45 and I still had not been able to get in touch with owner. We had info to get in room and we were going to change into bathing suits and head to the beach, when we opened door with noticed that it looked like it had not been cleaned and figured the maid would surely be coming soon. So my girlfriend and I went to bathroom downstairs to put our suits on. We headed to the pool and beach and I tried to call owner for next 2 hrs. Around 3 oclock the owner calls me and says that she is at a dear friends 80th bday and that she had tried to call me several times, but I didnt have any missed calls and had received several calls throughout afternoon. I told her that the room was not clean and that we would need to start getting ready for a concert shortly. I asked if we would be compensated for the room not being cleaned and she said yes. When we got up to room there were no clean towels and there was dog hair everywhere, also there was dried urine on the toilets and even feces in the toilet. We call back to say we have no towels to get ready and she did tell me where the key was to get her towels out of the closet. So we are trying to get ready after we clean the toilet, shower, and sinks and end up being late for the concert. I had told the owner that we didnt want anyone to clean the room since we were having to do it ourselves . When we got back from concert we can tell that someone had been in the room, we had left our purses, laptops and cell phones in the room. There was no reason to send anyone after we had to clean and make beds ourselves and some of our things could have been stolen. Also there was no security to watch the parking lot, all other hotels that night had extra security because of the concert. So our relaxing vacation for 4 ladies trying to get away from husbands and kids did not start so well. When we got home the owner did not compensate us for having to clean our own room ourselves, she said we were even because we enjoyed and extra half day at the beach that she didnt know about. The beach is free and the 2 hr we were there was spent trying to get in touch with her! So Beware! I have pics of the condo!

  Owner response: My husband and I are sorry our customers did not enjoy their stay. Occasionally things happen out of our control; however, we make every effort to rectify the situation as soon as possible. Re: lack of communication- we try to reply to emails and phone calls in a timely manner. On the day of arrival, I had missed a phone call around 11:30am. I was walking in from church and did not get to the phone in time. I immediately returned the call using the number on Caller ID. There was no voice mail message service. I tried to call several times before we left for the party and I had taken my cell phone to avoid missing a call. They called at 3pm. Please note we did not receive any voice mail messages from any of their attempts to contact us. Re: the dirty condo- I apologized and insisted on having the housekeeping service come to clean the unit immediately. I, too, was upset that the condo had not been cleaned. We were the last people to stay in the condo, and it was our dog that left traces of dog hair. Since then this incident has been addressed with the cleaning service. I offered access to the “owners’ closet” to accommodate them as best I could given the situation. I specifically stated to take valuables out of the unit while it was being cleaned. I was surprised when housekeeping notified me that they had disregarded my request. Also, it was their choice to be late to the concert given I had insisted on having the unit cleaned. Re: compensation- I considered compensating them; however, in reviewing the situation, I decided that they received compensation by checking in early and using the pool facilities. Under no circumstances do we anticipate our guests to arrive and enter the condo or the property early without owner permission. We pay monthly fees to the Homeowner’s Association to maintain the grounds and the beach front. Re: security- security is provided for the property and parking passes are required to be displayed in every vehicle. Our VRBO listing does not mention security, so we did not misrepresent our condominium. I am not aware of any theft or vandalism done to their vehicle and this concern was not mentioned prior to this official complaint. We regret this situation ever happened and that we have a dissatisfied customer. Sincerely, The Owners The condo is under new ownership as of February 2012.   We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, well-decorated, clean condo! We enjoyed the amenities at the Lighthouse including the three beautifulpools, covered parking, and fitness room. Can't wait until our return so we can stay at this condo again!
