Such a lovely weekend! With 4 pregnant women amidst our girls' weekend away, it was difficult for us to believe how comfortable our stay was. The house had everything we needed and wanted, and was perfect for resting, chatting and cooking great meals, in between exploring Portuguese beach and walking around the beautiful neighborhood streets. We particularly appreciated the awesome stove/ cook top in the kitchen. We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful place! We spent 3 nights there. We were having such a wonderful, relaxing time, that we canceled the dinner reservations that we had in town one night and stayed at home all three nights. The rooms were large, well-appointed and comfortable. Even though we did not use it, the loft room was terrific. There were decks in the front of the house and off the master bedroom, which we used for cocktails in the early evening, as well as reading and relaxing during the day. The house seemed very accommodating to people with disabilities. The kitchen was great, with the only minor exception of being out of pepper, which I am sure has been remedied by now. The front windows were floor to ceiling, which was great for watching deer and the occasional egret, as well as the horizon. We went for walks every day ... to the beach, around the "neighborhood," and in town. Leaving after three nights was very difficult for us, but the harder still was coaxing the dog off the front porch, where she had planted herself, and into the car. We are looking forward to returning, as are several of our friends who we have told about our time there.

We had a lovely time at the beach house at Porgtuguese Beach. Our party included family from three different generations, ranging in age from 4 to 78, and all of us had a relaxing and wonderful time. We especially enjoyed seeing the seals at Goat's Rock Park and enjoying the abundant wildlife in the area. The house is exceptionally well appointed and we were all thankful to have found such a beautiful and comfortable home.

Our four-person, one-dog family had a wonderful relaxing getaway at this great house. Ardelle really put a lot of care and thought into what would make the house comfortable and easy to live in for a few days. The doggie treats, full candy dish, and fresh flowers were lovely touches. We really appreciated how easy Ardelle was to work with, from the quick and no-fuss agreement, to the prompt and friendly responses. The house was clean and well-maintained, with plenty of supplies and a well-stocked and organized kitchen. The fireplace and hot tub were great and easy to use, and we loved the beautiful location and view, especially being right across the street from the beach. We would definitely recommend this property, and hope to return soon!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Del Sol. The house is remarkably well supplied with linens, kitchen wares, and games, has plenty of social space and a gorgeous kitchen. The six of us slept comfortably in the two private bedrooms. The children in particular enjoyed the upstairs loft. We really enjoyed the time spent whale watching from Bodega Head and wandering around Goat Rock, which turned out to be more accessible for family members of limited mobility than Portuguese Beach directly across the street. Thank you for everything!

We had a wonderful time at the "Peri Beach House". This is such a nice roomie home for family gatherings. Our daughter's family of 5, (3 boys,7,4 and baby) all slept very comfortably in the upstairs loft. The downstairs has 2 nice bedrooms and a very roomie kitchen/greatroom. The Beach is close and the hottub was fine.A little small but we took turns! Pretty view across the field and of the ocean. We had a great lunch at the Boat house it's small but the food is good.

Myself and 4 best friends celebrated my 50th birthday recently, and Casa del Sol was the perfect place to do so! The reservation process was very streamlined, and Ardelle was willing to change our dates when we had a conflict even after our deposit had been paid. Although the description and pictures on the website are wonderful, they don't begin to describe how beautiful this house and location really are. The views are truly breathtaking, and the house was impeccably clean and well stocked. The layout of the living/dining/kitchen areas of the house is very conducive to conversation between rooms, so that a sense of togetherness is maintained even when not in the same room. We had one small problem during our stay, and Ardelle responded immediately. I will recommend Casa del Sol to all of my friends and family for their next stay in the Bodega Bay area!

I will say that I was kind of reluctant to rent this property, but, after trying others that gave us too much trouble to book, we decided to go for this one. The owners had a very simple booking process in place, no 20 pages contract. When we got there, the house was waaaay better than we ever imagined. The place is very cozy, beautiful and cabin like. You feel like you're 1,000 miles away from the routine. It was all very clean and incredibly comfortable. The kitchen was stocked up with utensils, pans and several food items. We had brought all our food, so we didn't have to use anything, but it was comforting to know that if we forgot something, it was probably there. Also, there are tons of shampoo and conditioners, etc. There's also a blow drier, although my wife wished she had brought hers, it's much stronger, but that was completely minor. The rooms are very comfortable. We loved the house layout - great for our friends' get together. We had a couple of kids, and they had a blast. The surroundings of the house were magnificent, it almost felt as if you were in a little fairy tale. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Oh, and the hot tub was so clean and so hot, felt great. Unfortunately, we had to leave early to take our kid to the ER for a pneumonia, and we were so bummed to cut those two days short... The property exceeded our expectations by a long stretch. Will definitely return.

We have returned to this fabulous home numerous times, when vacationing in Bodega. Some stays have been for few days and others for longer periods of time. Every time we arrive, we are reminded of how warm, conveniently laid out and welcoming this lovely home is for all who visit. The decor is just what it should be for a coastal home - the lay out is perfect for visiting, enjoying meals and all of the great dinner conversations we have. The furnishings are just perfect for relaxing with a good book, suspenseful movie or taking a long overdue nap. The owner has thought of every detail. Supplies are plentiful, the candy dish is full and, if your favorite pet comes along, there are even bones for his or her pleasure. What is most noticeable, is that it is extremely clean. Carpets are immaculate, floors shiny and beds even have warm flannel sheets in the cooler months. It is a sad day when we have to say good by to this lovely spot and return to the realities of everyday life. But, we always leave looking forward to the time when we we will return.

What a great home! Everything was just as described and then some. Our family was age 6 to 61 and we all felt at home; even me in my wheelchair. We had inclement weather a few days but were warm and cozy with fireplace and the morning visit from the deer. The girls cooked and wanted to take the stove home - great gas stove. Room for all around the dining table. We went out to dinner once but there are so many places to try. There is a beach close by that accomodates wheelchairs so I could enjoy the kite flying. The gang went to Bodega head for exploring and shell collecting. The house was clean and well cared for I would highly recommend it for all age groups.

Five of us women enjoyed a weekend at this lovely home in Bodega Bay. We go away annually on our Birthday Weekend and this was one of our best stays. Of course, the beautiful sunshine and clear blue sky helped. The home was lovely and just as the owner has described. A brief walk to the beach, cows just over the fence, sitting on the deck with all the natural sounds and lovely yellow flowers, and on and on. And since this is our annual event we enjoyed lots of talking and listening in the comfortable lilting room. You will be glad you found this home ....

This house was perfect for my husband who is now using a wheelchair to get around. We woke up in the master suite to 3 sunny mornings, silver waves and fishing boats visible from the bed. We love to buy local fish, stay home and barbecue and the kitchen is fully equipped for the task. The owner is so approachable and even had a beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers on the coffee table! I took my dogs running each morning on Portuguese Beach and explored the hills above the house. Can't wait to return!!!!

We were fortunate enough to stay in Casa del Sol for July and August this summer. The home is spacious, amazingly clean, relaxing and comfortable. We loved the beautiful kitchen which was very well stocked. The beds were all supremely comfortable for our family of two teenagers, a Mom and a Grandma. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and we all enjoyed the wonderful wireless service and printer. The views from every window were stunning, the cows were lovely to gaze at just outside the patio. The side yard provided a great place to play ball with our medium sized dog, and we were so glad that this is a dog-friendly accommodation. The owners were very responsive whenever we had a question or if something needed tweaking and we enjoyed getting to know them. This is the most beautiful home we have rented thus far, and we had a wonderful summer in paradise. You will be very happy if you are fortunate enough to be able to stay in Casa del Sol.

We just got back from our June 3rd Weekend. When I read from the reviews this place is "well stocked" I had my doubts, but REALLY, it is VERY WELL STOCKED! Pretty much in the kitchen, you have all the condiments and spices you would need to cook. There are bottled water, canned tuna, waffle mixes, syrup and etc. etc...AWESOME! Bathrooms have backup tooth bruses, q-tips, LOTS AND LOTS of towels!!! There's also a lot of backup blankets and etc. Also, the house is EXTREMELY Clean. I have twin 11 month olds, and I felt safe for them to crawl around everywhere because it was so clean. Lastly, the house is VERY Spacious. When we were there, it was raining for a day and a half, but because there's the large loft upstairs, and plenty of sofas downstairs, we all had plenty of room to lounge around, read and play games. There's a nice collection of books and games. We all grabbed a good book and rushed to finish before we left. Thank you again!!! She is so responsive. She checks her email and responds every few hour prior to the trip and during the trip. Oh, I forgot to mention they had fast internet connection. Its really nice to have during the storms.

This home is a great location for our needs. We are a retired couple with a dog. The neighborhood is safe and friendly and downtown Bodega is within a ten minute drive. The kitchen is well equipped, spacious baths (handicapped accessible) and the open living area lends itself to relaxation. Our hosts provided fresh calla lilies, lemons (for the fish we bought weekly at the Boathouse) and a bird friendly yard. We were able to see deer, turkeys, quail and hawks in addition to the ever present vultures. The next door cows were a source of interest as well. The things we most liked about this rental: owners stayed in touch throughout our stay, proximity to Bodega Bay and visits up and down Highway One. Must sees for your trip: Bodega (town) Artisan's Co-op, cherries in the spring and Pomo Canyon.

Most comfortable stay we have for a long time. It was our "friendship reunification" trip (which was an overdue one). Though the heavy downpour of rain was a real threat to this trip, we all decided to stick with our plan and brave the weather. We were so glad that the rain decided to clear up on the day of our trip and opened up previously closed flooded road. When we got to Casa del Sol, and opened the door to this lovely vacation home, we felt so welcome and relaxed right away. All small details were thought of by the owner. We were all impressed on how organized the place was, kitchen necessities were over and beyond complete. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The free use of the phone came in very handy as well as we all found out that all of our phones had no signal in the area. This is really indeed a perfect place to stay. We are definitely coming back. And did I mention how perfect the surrounding area as well? No? well... it was perfect... and a lovely time was had by all. Thank you!! -

Nothing is more wonderful then spending Christmas at the beach --- and in Bodega Bay at that! Our family had the pleasure of spending this past Christmas at Casa del Sol! What an incredible experience. From the gorgeous decorated Christmas tree, with tons of lights, to the poinsettas and specialty soaps, shampoos and the fluffiest towels! My husband's family and we got to make new memories and traditions, while reliving old ones, sitting around the spacious and comfortable living room, spending time walking on the beach (which is right down the road), to leisure time in the hot tub while watching the waves crash and enjoying the silence of our neighborly cows! We have never been so impressed by a rental before - the attention to detail was overwhelming..right down to the flannel sheets and fully stocked and spacious kitchen and baths. We can't wait to go back, and will do so in the very near future! Ardelle - thanks so much for making this time so special for our family - it is a Christmas we will never forget. Happy New Year! Our stay at Casa Del Sol was totally amazing. I was there with my Kids and Grandkids and there was plenty of room for everyone. I was amazed at how Ardelle (the owner) had thought of virtually everything. Every time we turned around, there was what we needed or even desired. I have mobility issues and can tell you that Casa Del Sol was every bit as comfortable for me as my own home. The Master Suite’s bathroom has a “roll-in shower”, a high toilet, and a taller sink. Both of the decks have ramps for easy access. The Kitchen is very large and very well appointed. Bodega Bay and Casa Del Sol have become one of my favorite places on earth. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to spend some time relaxing in a comfortable environment next to the coast and several very beautiful beaches.

This was my first time renting a vacation home and my family and I can't say enough good things about our whole experience. From the start, communication was quick and clear. The home itself was beautiful inside and out, and practically every amenity you would need or want in your own home was provided here, from personal care items to puzzles and board games to even a little kite to fly on the beach. Its location to the beach was great. We went two to three times a day because it is literally across the road. If the beach isn't your thing, there is also have a gorgeous front porch and a hot tub in the back. Each morning we were greeted with a charming view of cows grazing in the field, and fell asleep to the sounds of the crashing ocean. This home is obviously well-loved and it shows, and I hope to return again.

We had the most relaxing summer ever, spent at Casa Del Sol. Unfortunately, my mother could not make the trip with us, but had she come, it would have been perfect as she was confined to a wheelchair. Since this home is equipped with ramps, safety bars, wheelchair-friendly shower, etc. AND it is pet-friendly, a great find for someone with special needs. We arrived to find fresh flowers on the table, all necessities in the kitchen, including coffee and tea, sugar, condiments. Bathrooms were very clean and stocked with tissues, drinking cups, soaps, even shampoo and conditioner! The garage was an added bonus, complete with automatic door-opener. Nice washer and dryer, great appliances in the kitchen. The house is located a little north of town, a half-block from the ocean. Great views and comfortable chairs on the decks..all in all a great find! We highly recommend this property.

My husband and I just returned from a most memorable weekend in this lovely home. Casa del Sol, without a doubt, is the best kept secret in the Bodega Area. The home owner has created an environment that is comfortable, cozy, spacious and most welcoming. Visitors immediately recognize that every detail has been addressed. Supplies, flowers, unique decorations, phone and inter-net service are all there to enhance one's stay. We did absolutely nothing but stay at home, walk, read, relax and sleep like two newborn babies. We can hardly wait to return, as no weekend get-way, has ever been as enjoyable as this one. Thank you to the owner for creating such a wonderful place for much needed rest and relaxation. Mary Lou and Bob

We absolutlely loved our stay at Casa Del Sol! It was perfect for our family vacation to the California Coast. My only regret is that we did not stay there longer. Ardelle was wonderful to work with and attended to every detail, even fresh flowers and wine upon our arrival! The home was extremely clean, comfortable and has everything you need to cook, relax and enjoy family time! After realizing that Bodega was the location for the filming of the Alfred Hitchcock classic, The Birds - we not only went to see the actual locations of the filming, we were able to watch the movie on DVD at night! Thanks for that added bonus. The panoramic views were incredible! The wildlife surrounding us added so much! The little family of deer that were in the yard in the evenings and mornings were so cute and fun to watch. We loved the cows in the pasture right outside the master bedroom. The beautiful large yard and hot tub were definitely an added attraction! There were beautiful views from every window in the house! Of course, the ocean and flower covered cliffs were gorgeous. Such a beautiful change from the beaches we have in Texas! We found the little town of Bodega Bay and Bodega charming. So quaint and relaxing. We loved Gourmet Au Bay and the Sandpiper Restaurant. I would definitely recommend this home and hope that we can return sometime for a longer visit!

We loved the gorgeous Pacific Ocean just a few steps away, but also love the home! Every little detail was thought out. And after a long day traveling, we appreciated the freshly-cut flowers awaiting our arrival. They were so perfect that I thought they were fake, but they weren't. Ardelle cut them from her garden for us. Thanks so much for making our visit to Bodega Bay memorable, and happy! Every thing was wonderful, and the house was cute and clean and well-stocked with necessities. WE WILL BE BACK! (Didn't Arnold S. say that, too?) Barbara and Bill from Florida

My husband and I stayed at this house with our two boys, ages 5 and 7, and we could not have had more fun! We flew kites around the house, found starfish on the beach, had meals around the table, and played cards by the fire. The house is cozy, warm, beautiful, immaculate, and very family friendly. We just can't wait to go back! Thank you!!

We just returned from a relaxing week at Casa del Sol in sleepy, beautiful Bodega Bay. The house was perfect for our family. It was comfortable, clean and in a great location with views of the ocean. We walked to the beach, hiked in the hills, rode horses, drove inland to the redwoods. It was a great family getaway. The upstairs loft was great for the kids and it was so nice to be able to bring our dogs with us. We will definitely be back!

Our family of 8 adults and 1 grandchild celebrated a late Christmas here in Jan. We stayed at the house most of the weekend, cooking our meals (well equipped kitchen with very nice appliances), playing games, reading, relaxing. There was plenty of room and the owner was so accommodating - leaving up all the festive Christmas decorations and was very responsive to all our questions. A very short walk to a beautiful beach with gorgeous sunsets. Can't wait to go back.

Ardell,: Our stay at your house was so enjoyable, when we drove up and saw the christmas tree in the window and the decorations in the yard it made us feel right at home. We just wanted quiet, and time to enjoy our family away from it all. The open living areas gave room for all. Our grandson 6 yrs old had plenty of room. to play in and out of the house. Hot tub was so nice . And you made it so easy and no hassle to rent your house. Mahalo, The Padilla Family

What a wonderful time our family had at Casa Del Sol! Ardelle was a pleasure to work with, making sure that every detail was taken care of so that we would enjoy a pleasant stay in her lovely home. We found it to be meticulously prepared for our arrival--even fresh holiday flowers and a decorated Christmas tree!! The spacious living area allowed us to read, watch movies, play games (good assortment available at the house), and just relax! The kitchen was very well equipped, enabling us to prepare meals and clean up with ease. We had planned to do some sightseeing while on the coast, but found the house so inviting that we ended up spending most of our time there. Finding cozy flannel sheets on our beds at the end of the day was a real treat! Our children are already talking of a return trip near Christmas next year!

What a great place to visit with family from the east coast. Beautiful views by day and the moon and stars shining brightly over the hot tub at night.

What a lovely time we had at Casa Del Sol. There were 4 of us--one in a wheelchair--plus a dog. The place is totally accessible so my niece had a wonderful time. We brought a bed for our dog but that was unnecessary, as there was a large bed awaiting him. Views of the ocean were spectacular. We plan to return.

We needed a relaxing vacation and Casa Del Sol was the answer. The living room with fireplace kept us warm and toasty while we watched DVDs on a very foggy day. The hot tub was one of our favorite spots and the presence of cows in the adjacent field was a pleasant surprise as it reminded me of summers on my grandfather’s farm. We enjoyed the quiet of the neighborhood with only the sound of quail (wildlife) to the sound of the surf. The many beaches were just minutes away and we spent hours watching the big waves. The other amenities of the home were great, making our stay just like being at home. Thank you Ardelle for opening your beautiful home to us as it was greatly appreciated.
