The Farmhouse at Sawyers Cove
Welcome to the perfect Maine get-away – a recently renovated 3-4 bedroom/1.5 bath farmhouse on 3 acres of waterfront property. A property this large is rare to find right in town, ensuring wonderful privacy and a sense of seclusion even though you can walk to town! There is a wonderful large field surrounding the house with seasonal wildflowers and wild blueberries and a large mowed lawn for games. Enjoy the 300 feet of waterfront – the bluff overlooking the cove, the rocky shore, or the shell beach – each area is enjoyable in its own way, and it’s all yours. Use the beach for easy kayak or canoe access. At night, take advantage of the fire-pit on the bluff overlooking the water.
On the main floor is a spacious kitchen with a patio facing the water, a separate large dining room, a bright sunny living room, an office/fourth bedroom, the laundry, and a powder room. Upstairs, the house has a full bathroom and three large bedrooms.
Every room is filled with decorator touches. Painted wood floors typical of farmhouses are blended with new area rugs, comfortable furniture, and modern conveniences. The queen beds in both the master bedroom and the second bedroom have new quilts and bed linens, cozy duvet-covered down comforters, pillow-top mattresses, and plenty of pillows. The master bedroom also has a comfortable sitting area where you can put your feet up and gaze out at the water through large windows. The third bedroom is designed as a bunk-room for the kids. It sports a world map, clocks for locations around the world and three comfortable twin beds with new linens and cozy duvet-covered down comforters – not to mention a view of the harbor from the windows. The bathroom is stocked with lots of fluffy towels.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a stove, double-sink, refrigerator with ice-maker, and plenty of dishes, glasses, utensils, and pots and pans, right down to the wine-glasses and beer mugs. Outside on the patio, you can sit and relax, watch the water, grill your dinner, and then eat at the picnic table on the large adjacent lawn overlooking the cove.
Special touches include a TV, DVD player, Cable TV with HBO and Surround Sound and high-speed Wireless Internet. The office closet is stocked with games for your enjoyment. We also have a portable crib and high-chair available. On the lawn, you can play with our croquet or bocce ball sets or make use of the badminton/volleyball that is usually set up (all equipment provided).
We have provided every comfort we can think of to make your stay a perfect one… picture yourself strolling down to the water and call us today! Come stay with us, and enjoy the beauty and atmosphere of Jonesport.
For the first time ever, the house is available for July 4 and the week before and after. If you haven’t been in Jonesport for the World’s Fastest Lobster Boat Races, you shouldn’t miss. We have return guests who have reserved the house for six weeks, from August 2 to September 13, but there is still availability in May, June and July. We hope you’ll visit then, or reserve ahead for next year.
