Villa la Dolce Vita is found in a secluded location in a woodsy countryside (an oak grove on a slope facing south). The property is in an idyllic setting perfect for those who desire a pure taste of Provencal indoor-outdoor living. Architect designed house, with a very large living room (and grand piano); sliding doors opening up on the south (sun) to a large terrace with two outdoor dining areas. The terrace stairway leads you down to a large garden with lots of flowers, complete with a summer kitchen and BBQ. And even a hot tub among the trees for the cool evenings (evenings are cool even in the summer). La Dolce Vita offers generous space, privacy and comfort. Ideal for 2 or 3 couples or group of friends who want to share their holiday.

Location: Twelve minutes drive to Aix-en-Provence, one of France's most pleasant places to live. There is also a bus stop nearby, if you want to go to Aix without driving. Villa la Dolce Vita is located 2 km from Eguilles, and is close to the road that connects Aix-en-Provence with Avignon, in the middle of the wine-growing area. The Luberon area is close-by with its towns perched on top of hills. quite beautiful, and has many hiking trails and cute towns with wonderful restaurants (20 minutes drive). The closest beach (in Marseille) is 30 minutes away. Both Aix and Marseille can also be reached by bus, to avoid driving. The TGV (fast train) station is 25 minutes drive from the house.

Year Purchased: 2004

I'm a retired professional living in France for some time and moved to Provence in the mid-90s.

Why the Owner Chose Aix en Provence

The two reasons why I chose to buy property in Aix-en-Provence: 1) 300 days of year of sun every year (and 7 months a year of ideal weather); 2) the proximity of Paris (3 hours train ride).

The Unique Benefits of this House

I love the calm of the Provencal countryside, and the proximity of a lively town like Aix-en-Provence (it's lively 12 months a year, since it's a student town, unlike most towns in the south of France). And mainly: the weather - I love sun and a warm climate. This is one of the most ideal climates in Europe.
