Arthur's Place is right on the most beautiful beach in Grand Bahama. The water is very shallow for about 300-500 metres, all exposed sand at low tide. It was a perfect place for us to stay with our two children (under 5 yrs). We had the entire beach to ourselves most of the time and saw less than a dozen other people out 9never more than 3 at a time) during our 12 day stay. The house is spacious and fitted out with all the amenities you could want. We found the house spotless and as well kept as any professionally cleaned hotel room. The house is located in Gambier Point in the East End of Grand Bahama. It is about 25 minutes east of Freeport. It is considered quite remote and in an area that is not touristy at all. We loved it because we could go into Freeport to have the full tourist experience, and then escape to the quiet and beautiful beach at Arthur's Place. Arthur and Melba are very generous hosts. We had a very relaxing time and would recommend Arthur's Place to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay outside the action in Grand Bahama.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This is one of the most beautiful locations we have ever seen. Arthur was so kind, helping us with our travel plans and giving us directions to the house. When we arrived at the airport, we rented a car from Brad's Car Rental and they were incredibly helpful. I would suggest stopping for some essential groceries before proceeding on to the house. When we stepped into the house, everyone just stood in the foyer and saud, "wow!" The house is spacious, bbeautifully furnished, comfortable and feels like a second home. The screened pation is huge and we spent much of our non-beach time lying on the chaise lounges on the patio. The beach is beyond description. My husband and I have stayed at many 5 star resorts in our life and have travelled to most of the Caribbbean Islands and this beach blows every one of them away. At low tide, you can walk out about 500 yards! Ineither direction, you can walk at least 4 miles. We walked to the site of the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean. This house and location are for those who appreciate a quiet, secluded vacation. It is a 25 minute drive for groceries and most restaurants. For those of us who just want to curl up with a book, look at the sunsets and stars, and walk an empty, beautiful beach, it is paradise. I hope Arthur will have us back many times over!
