At “Estate of Folly” there is no need to choose between ocean view and marsh view because you get both. This property is located on the eastern end of Folly Beach which is where the island narrows significantly. The home is located across the street from the beachfront and as such, sitting on the beach is as simple as crossing the street. While a couple of beachfront homes sit directly across, ocean views and onshore breezes are still widely available from the very gracious wood deck which can easily and comfortably accommodate your entire entourage. Still, walk to the back of the house to find another wooden deck, half of which is screened. This deck opens up to a small and elegant backyard that is protected by Live Oak trees and abuts the beautiful Folly Island marsh. A variety of wood flooring is used throughout the home. All manner of decoration brings the Charleston experience into every room. Unique to “Estate of Folly”, upon entering through the main door, you will first see a room with a 6’ billiards table. Offset to one side from this room is a living room with access to the oceanfront deck as well as the master bedroom. The master is bedroom is spacious with personal access to the deck and has two walk-in closets. However, the real gem is the master bathroom which has a his/her sink. The tile floor flows into the gigantic shower which you can literally walk around in. It boasts three different shower heads, a seating area and three side-spray shower heads. Of course, the first thing you will notice when you enter the bathroom is the wonderfully decorated and spacious Jacuzzi tub. On the other side of the billiards room is the kitchen, another large living room and a picnic style dining area. There is also another bedroom, 1 ½ bathrooms and the marsh-view deck. Upstairs are three more bedrooms, a small lounge area and another full bathroom with a his/her sink. One of the bedrooms has its own private ocean view balcony as well. “Estate of Folly” is truly rich in its offering.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
Folly Beach is special. It is unique in the fact that the architecture is a collection of old and new. The residents have that feel of “no problem” and a breath of fresh air in this fast paced world. There are many activities from people watching, kayaking, surfing, surf lessons, sailing, fishing or biking that can keep you entertained… or you can disappear with a book and your children on one of the lovely parks that are on either end of Folly.
The Unique Benefits at this House
This is probably one of the most unique properties on Folly. I have 2 lots that run from a great view of the ocean with summer breezes and surfers who play at the washout to a beautiful view of the sound in the back. The sunrises in the front and the sunsets out back on the screened porch give the best of both worlds. The original house was added onto and has been completed renovated and is huge. Come and enjoy a taste of the fun and peace you can find only at Folly Beach.

We had such a good time in this home. 4 families stayed very comfortably in this home. Huge front porch that is partially covered was great for corn-hole. Back yard is right on the marsh, with shade. 2 tv family sitting areas, great for everyone! Master Bedroom is spacious with huge bathroom and shower. The home is very well maintained, all additions to this classic Folly Beach house are of quality construction. Dunes properties is always great, we have stayed with them in different rentals for the last year. Nicholas and Liz are very helpful in reservations. We Love Folly, close to the Citadel, and downtown. We will see you soon!
