Casa Aguilita lived up to all expectations as a place for two couples to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversaries. The modern, airy design with dramatic views in all directions through glass walls makes a stunning setting. The common space and kitchen are small, but the patio options for lounging, grilling, dining, hammock napping, pool dipping, sauna soaking, bird watching and sunset gazing abound. The owners, Mary and Lee, have thought of everything that would make their guests most comfortable. They were close at hand with suggestions and help with reservations for anything we wanted to do.

My wife and I just spent 7 nights at Casa Aguilita as guests of Lee and Mary. I can summarize our thoughts as follows: all the nice things written about the house, the views, and Mary and Lee are true. The same goes for the stunning photos. All true and accurate. If you go, you will not be disappointed with the location and the proximity to interesting things to see and do.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from a week at Casa Aguilita and we can’t say enough positive things about our experience there. The house is lovely - the pictures online are really accurate - and the ocean and mountain views are spectacular. Mary and Lee are wonderful hosts. They were always available for suggestions or advice when we asked, and they provided an extremely comprehensive guide to local activities, restaurants, wildlife, and plants when we wanted to set out on our own. If you don’t like the idea of sitting in your pool or Jacuzzi and gazing out at miles of Pacific ocean, or waking up to the sight of cloud fragments tucked among faraway mountains, then this isn’t the house for you. But if you do, well, don’t hesitate.

We loved Casa Aguilita!

My husband and I stayed at Casa Aguilita for a week in July, and loved everything about our trip! The house and surrounding area was every bit as beautiful as it is in the pictures. The views were stunning, the ocean on one side of the house and the mountains on the other, even from the jacuzzi! A fully stocked kitchen, library, and DVD collection made us feel right at home, but better! On top of the house being so beautiful and comfortable, Mary and Lee were full of information on everything from local wildlife to the best restaurants - we wouldn't have had half the trip without their input. The house is halfway between Quepos and Manuel Antonio, making it a short car ride to either town. I would recommend the house to anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious getaway, and can't wait to visit again in the next couple of years!

Casa Aguilita was a wonderful find! Spectacular views and decor! My boyfriend, myself, my son and boyfriend's nephew truly enjoyed staying at Casa Aguilita. It was a trip of lifetime!! We arrived at there during the evening so we could not really enjoy the amazing views. As I headed out of the house to the balcony in the morning to enjoy my coffee. The view brought tears to my eyes. I could not believe the beautiful views of the valley, mountains and pacific ocean from the house. The photos truly do not do it justice! Mary and her husband were fabulous and made us feel very much at home. Mary helped us with arranging airport transportation, excursions, beaches and resteraunt locations. One of the most spectacular vacations I have ever had! We will defintiely be back to visit and stay at Casa Aguilta. Thank you Mary for everything!

We went to Casa Aguilita for part of our Honeymoon and had any amazing time. Mary and Lee (the owners of the house) were very hospitable and were always willing to help with questions or give us recommendations. They gave us a list of top notch tours and activities (we came with no agenda and plans and this made it very easy to jump right in). The views from the house are priceless. You will not find any better in Manuel Antonio. Each bedroom has a view of either the rainforest or the sea. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking tools and they have an excellent television (cable) and sound system. The plunge pool and the Jacuzzi (the Jacuzzi is a great place to watch a beautiful Costa Rican Sunset) are great after and long day of fun. They also have an outside patio with two large hammocks and a great dinner table overlooking both the ocean and the rainforest. We would HIGHLY recommend this place for up to four people but was very cozy and comfortable for the two of us. Five stars!!!

My partner and I had a fantastic time here! This was above our expectation! We had a wonderful time...totally private. A romantic getaway we will cherish and rememember for years! The owners, Mary and Lee, were awesome and helped us make the most of Costa Rica and our stay with them. R + T

Luxury Design in Paradise

Must see in person - the pictures can't fully convey the amazing design of this casa and the incredible views of mountains and sea from this perch. We couldn't believe this house was available as a rental. The hosts and owners, Mary & Lee, should take all the credit for selecting the architect, overseeing the great design, outfitting the house with luxury amenities and providing guidebooks, advice, and hospitality. They are wonderful! Great for two couples, a family with older children, or your own private romantic getaway (as we did). Chefs available to cook onsite and serve in your private outdoor dining room. Sunrise and sunset views. Close to restaurants & nightlife as well as day activities and beach. Do recommend you have a car but taxis are also available for going out at night.

We honeymooned at Casa Aguilita and could not have been more pleased! This is one of the most amazing luxury rental houses we have ever stayed in. The location was private and serene but close to all the restaurants, action and beach in Manuel Antonio. Mary and Lee are the sweetest most accomodating hosts. They are there to guide you and advise but are very sensitive to privacy and providing all the little details that make the house so comfortable. The people in this area really love their little slice of paradise and love to share it with visitors. This is an amazing destination!

This house was amazing! The photos don't even do it justice. The sunrise in the mornings over the trees/mountains and the sunset in the evenings over the ocean were spectacular. The house is beautiful with everything you need to make your stay more than comfortable. The absolute best part of this home are the owners - Mary and Lee. They will do anything (and I mean anything within the realm of possibility!) to make your dreams come true. This was a 50th birthday trip for me, and they conspired with my husband for many unique surprises. They also arranged excursions for us, and they were so very prompt with email responses and suggestions prior to, and during, our trip. I hope we get to return one day. And, after listening to our stories and description of the house, our friends hope to go there one day, too!

My husband and I stayed here for a week for our honeymoon. Casa Aguilita was the perfect place for us. Not only was the house comfortable and safe, it provides beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, and the landscaping invites all kinds of wildlife to watch from your bed, or a hammock, or the pool....you get the idea. What really makes the house a great choice is Mary, the owner. She went out of her way to make sure we had a perfect trip, providing phone numbers and rates of local tours, day trips, etc., and makes sure that you don't pay a commission. She'll even personally call a tour guide to make sure they know not to overcharge you. She also called the spa and had them add extra time onto my massage! Mary is the perfect host: she will take care of you, but will not interfere with your stay. She's there if you need her, but otherwise she's invisible!

What we all loved about the house was the owners were so nice and helpful and welcoming. The house was set on a beautiful property and I enjoyed all the beautiful flowers and wildlife. The owners really think of everything to make your stay a memorable one with the fresh flowers, fruit and food. The house was decorated beautifully and the hammocks were very comfortable. I would love to stay at this house again in the future or suggest it to my friends. We travel to many places and I think this house was one of the best we ever rented. Michael

We had the privilege of staying at Casa Aguilita during our trip to Costa Rica at the beginning of October 2010. It is a beautiful house with AMAZING views! We took the ocean view bedroom and the other couple we travelled with stayed in the room with the valley/mountain views. The sunrises that we saw in the mornings were quite spectacular as the colors and fog bank twisted along the hills in the valley. The house is just a few minutes drive from the main road in Manuel Antonio, which made it easy to get to the beach in Manuel Antonio, as well as to Quepos. The owners of the house, Mary and Lee, are at the next property over and they made themselves readily available to assist us with anything we needed. Lee drove the guys down to Quepos for their ATV adventure while us ladies got recommendations for spa treatments from Mary. They are a very sweet couple and went above and beyond our expectations! I hope that we will have an opportunity to stay at Casa Aguilita in the future again someday!
