Great Cozy cabin
Great Cozy cabin
Rented the house for 4 weekends and was very satisfied. Loved the location, and the easy access to route100. The driveway was plowed as well as the road which made getting to the ski resort simple. The owner was great to work with regarding any questions and paperwork. The house was very cute , comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked.. We enjoyed our stay and would rent again in the future.

Great house near Okemo ski area !
Great house near Okemo ski area !
We had a great time staying here during the Christmas week, lots of snow! Had no problem getting in and out, the snow plow came twice a day and the road to Okemo was open. The house was great, we loved the fireplace! Well equipped kitchen, lots of movies and nice rooms. The location was very nice too. Only minus for the kids was no internet, and the cell phones did not really work, but there were lots of movies and tv channels.

Our family of five stayed in this cozy cottage during the Christmas/New Year week. Considering the prices you can pay in the Okemo area, this place is a bargain. You won't feel like you're staying in the lap of luxury, but it's a very comfortable home. The kitchen has plenty of pots, pans etc and the eat-in nook was perfect for our family. Our kids loved the spiral staircase and having the entire second floor to themselves, while my wife and I enjoyed the master on the first floor. Having 2.5+ baths was a bonus too. Nice wood burning stove kicked off tons of heat, not that the efficient heating system needed it. Despite the limited snow this year, we had four good days of skiing. The Jackson Gore entrance to Okemo is no more than 8 minutes away. The house is next to the Hawk resort, which has some nice hiking, and the area is amazingly quiet and peaceful. We had the added benefit of a stunning Fireworks display put on by the resort on New Year's Eve. The owner was really helpful and understanding when we broke a small bench (he only took ten bucks out of our security). All in all, a great stay. Thanks!

Great place to come home to after a day of skiing at Okemo or Killington. Building fires, watching movies and just hanging out with the family really made this a relaxing vacation. The house is comfortable and has everything you need for good time - not to mention the hiking and scenery right outside your front door.

We had a fantastic time over New Year's at this cozy cabin. The place is in great shape, with everything you could want for a group of 6. The new wood insert in the living room is especially nice. Trails for X-C skiing and snowshoeing basically right out the door, and just a short drive back to Okemo for downhill skiing. Highly recommended for a stay in the area!

We stayed at this home last summer and loved it so much that we decided to rent it for a long weekend in the winter. Both times were great. The house is the perfect size for a family. The property is beautiful. My kids enjoyed being right on the river and using the swimming hole of property. In the winter, we all made use of the cross country ski trails and I took advantage of paying only $30 to spend the day at the Hawk indoor pool while the kids skied. I would recommend this home to everyone.

Great stay. Perfect for the kids. They took advantage of the cross country skiing right up the road. Also went sno-shoeing. Loved the collection of family games for night time entertainment. Location is so tranquil. Can't wait to try out this summer and will rent again next winter.

We stayed at this beautiful charming house this past July 2008 and had so much fun kayaking, canoeing, swimming, hiking and just enjoying the beauty of this property, and Lake Amherst. The house was very clean and comfortable, and we cant wait to return again this summer. We also stayed here this past feb 2009, and had the best skiing at Killington ski mountain just a short 15 min drive up RT.100. I highly recommend a visit to this very beautiful and charming waterfront house. Regards, Tony and Bea

Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: We have owned a vacation home in VT since 1983 up in Reading but decided to buy an additional home by the lake. This house belonged to a relative and when the market fell, she was forced to sell. We did not want it to leave the family, so we purchased it in 2008. We love it!!! It is the perfect house for all seasons. It was renovated by a Carpenter back in the 90s and you can see by the craftmenship that alot of thought and love was put into it
Why the Owner Chose Plymouth:
We have owned a home up the road for 25 years and decided to purchase this home from my sister who has owned it for over 10 years and was very sad to have to sell it. We love the location and the privacy and the quick access to Rte 100. It is located within the Hawk Resort, and you have easy access to their amenities (for an extra fee).
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
Privacy...easy access to Rte 100...within the Hawk Resort...On River leading to Lake Amherst...See fox, beavers, deer and even moose right in your backyard...House is built sturdy and heat low. We have a gas and charcoal grill right outside screen porch. There is swimming hole on property where you can swim. Walk up to the Hawk and get a spa or enjoy their indoor/outdoor pool (heated in winter).
