Why the Owner Chose Wilmington

Downtown Wilimngton has such great appeal and character. I loved living here with all of its charm and proximity to fun restaurants and the beautiful River Walk. Mornings are so serene and great for walks or runs, if you are so inclined! Downtown has such a sense of community that you will realize as you stroll by the lovingly restored homes.

The Unique Benefits at this Townhome

The Italianate has everything that a home could offer. Everyone has room to stretch out, even the family pooch who has their own yard to romp around in. It is within walking distance of the Riverwalk and many fine restautants and attractions.

Great Location. Beautifully kept. Perfect service.

The Italianate is a beautiful townhome in Historic Downtown Wilmington. While not a necessity, the home was tastefully decorated as well as functional (wonderfully soft Lacoste towels, everything you would need in the kitchen, a DVD player, etc) – which really helped us to relax. The location was perfect - an easy walk to all the restaurants and shops in Wilmington. This was my first time renting a place through VRBO and it was simple and efficient thanks to the owner, Daphne. Upon arriving, a bag of dog treats were left out for us, which was perfect as it kept the dog occupied while we unloaded. Our deposit was returned immediately - always appreciated. I have no complaints and would definitely stay here again and recommend to everyone.

New Grandma

So we didn't intrude on the new parents we rented The Italianate. It was a short drive to see the new baby and only a few minutes walk to downtown and Christmas/baby shopping. The townhouse was immaculate, a great place to relax and reflect. Everything in this home has been done with class. A live Christmas tree complete with lights and decorations was a pleasant surprise. I'm always skeptical viewing pictures of rentals but the ones I saw on the web site were the reality! Wonderful place to stay!

Pleasantly surprised! We usually only stay at 5-star or Leading hotels in the cities we visit but Wilmington doesn't really ofer much in the way of hotels. The Italianate, with it's luxury linens and high-end amenities more than made up for the cities lack of hotels. We LOVED the location just down the mansion lined street everything the city has to offer is within easy walking distance. Daphne makes sure the home is comfortable and clean. She answers any questions immediately and is quick to respond with any needs that arise during your stay. We will definitely stay again. Thank you for offering such a lovely place to stay in Wilmington.

Thanksgiving at the Italianate

I love houses but am picky about what I like! This house is very pretty, tastefully furnished and immaculate. We had a mini family reunion over Thanksgiving. Everyone loved this house. The kitchen was amenable to several cooks; the dining table sat 8 easily. Our dogs played happily outside. Downtown is walkable and has charming shops, restaurants, and bars. Neighbors were friendly----it was a wonderful trip. I loved this house!! The ower was wonderful---answered all questions, made sure all was perfect. I would highly recommend this property----and hope to be able to stay there again soon.

Super Find!

Guest: Relocating (Long Island, NY)
Date of Stay: 11/18/11 Review Submitted: 11/23/11

While building a home outside of Wilmington, we have stayed at MANY various (homes, hotels) places this year, and the Italiante property is the most outstanding, place by far. Daphne is extremely prompt, helpful and wonderful to work with. The house is beautiful, super clean, loaded with everything you could possibly need, and comfortable. The very beautiful, short walk to town allows you to enjoy the downtown area without having to drive, and find parking, etc. We are planning another visit next month and will look to stay here again. The house has off the street parking, with a great porch to sit on and enjoy the garden. Cannot say enough about this property.

I just returned home from my stay in the Italianate during the first week of November 2011. The location was perfect and easy to locate. The home itself was very nice and comfortable. The home looked exactly like the photos. This was by far one of the best places I have ever rented and I would stay there again. I can't wait to go back to Wilmington and to the Itlianate. The owner is very nice and very accomodating. Staying in this location allows you to have a true historical experience plus it is only about 15 minutes away from Wrightsville beach. I recommend taking a stroll along the Cape Fear river walk along Water street during the day and at night!

Best Vacation Rental!

Guest: Michelle M, RN (Louisville, KY)
Date of Stay: 10/24/11 Review Submitted: 10/28/11

We just returned home after a short, but wonderful stay. I must say that we will be forever spoiled now that we've stayed at the Italianate! It is by far the best vacation rental property we've ever booked. So clean, comfy, and cozy! We stayed with our dogs and they enjoyed it as much as we did. This fenced-in yard was so nice just to let the dogs out for a quick break. Also, dog bowls and treats were provided. I can't say how much we enjoyed the location. Just a 10-15 minute walk to the shops and restaurant. Plus, the walks were so enjoyable. You can stroll along the river walk or through the beautiful neighborhood! Don't hesitate, book today! We can't wait to return!!!

Beautiful, well-maintained condo in a perfect downtown location

Guest: Shirlgirl_11 (Greenland, NH)
Date of Stay: 10/21/11 Review Submitted: 10/24/11

We just returned from a 3 day girls' weekend and LOVED the Italianate. The condo was beautifully maintained and decorated, was located walking distance from all the shops and restaurants downtown. The condo has a great kitchenette, beautiful sitting area and even has a washer and dryer. Each room has its own bathroom, plus big closets. We LOVED our stay here and would stay here again, either with family or friends. Also - the owner was really lovely to deal with - thank you!!

Excellent Accommodations in Downtown Wilmington!

Date of Stay: 10/15/11 Review Submitted: 10/18/11

We had the pleasure of staying at the Italianate for a three day weekend and the house was immaculate and well maintained. Everything was provided except beach towels and the house was within walking distance to everything you want to see downtown (and only 15 min or so to the beach!) I would definitely recommend staying at this house to anyone that wants to visit Wilmington!

Wonderful Home-away-from home!

Guest: Simone (Stanhope, NJ )
Date of Stay: 08/06/11 Review Submitted: 08/15/11

My husband and our 2 dogs stayed at the Italianate for a week while on vacation in Wilmington and had a wonderful time! The home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay; and it is bigger and even more beautiful than it appears in pictures. The home is walking distance from the fun shops downtown; we walked to town each day and along the way got to enjoy looking at the gorgeous historic homes that line the streets. The driveway to the home is safe and off of the street, and we enjoyed sitting on the porch while our dogs played in the fenced-in yard. The home-owner was great in responding to our calls and texts to each other - she was always easy to reach. I can't say enough good things about our stay - we will definitely be back! Side note - if you are bringing your dog, there is a dog park a few miles away (Empire Dog Park). We brought our hounds there twice a day and met some great people. This was one of the most relaxing vacations we have taken, and most of that was due to the fact that we had a wonderful place to stay that really felt like "home".
