Wonderful stay

When I heard that my partner had rented us b&b online rather than a local hotel, I was a little suspect. Now, after the fact, I have to say that I was much more than pleasantly surprised. We stayed four days and had an absolutely wonderful time. Waking up every morning to a spectacular view of marshlands would only be the start. Things were pristine, perfect and professional—the amenities, the location, and most of all, Helen’s hospitality. There’s little I can add to the description of the room; it’s spacious, has a fully stocked kitchen and a clean bathroom. What I can share, however, is how welcoming Helen was to us from the moment she introduced us to Madison. I would whole heartedly recommend the staying here based on the room and amenities alone, but what made our stay truly special was the hospitality. Indeed, it went further than just leaving us a local map but spanned from small and thoughtful touches like leaving bicycles out for us in the mornings, to the unexpected in inviting us over for some seaside lunch and even to the exceptionally above and beyond, when her husband helped us change a flat on our rental car. I can’t think of anything I’d have changed about our stay, and at the end of the day, I think the biggest compliment I can pay is that we truly felt like guests, and in much more than name.

My girlfriend and I stayed there for about a week in 2009 and we had a great time. The location is near NYC, New Haven, New Port, etc. The guests are friendly and willing to give all kinds of advices about the region. You have to try the restaurant called "The great wall". Really flavorfull and not expensive. Enjoy ! Kevin and Kathy

Ed and I enjoyed watching the egrets, sea gulls, and the gentle breezes in the marsh that this apartment overlooks. The apartment is clean, welcoming and well equipped. The owner went out of her way to make us comfortable. We liked the near-by beach and had fun exploring the towns of Madison and Guilford. We hope to return at some point.

My husband and I and our young son (21 months old) stayed at the apartment for 5 nights. Our stay was fun and relaxing and we found lots of things to do. We liked kayaking, bird watching, walking into town, and of course, going to the beach (Hammonasset Beach State Park, East Wharf Beach Park across the street, and the beach near the Madison Country Club). We also took the train to NYC, and visited Yale in nearby New Haven. For me, just enjoying the view of the march from the main window was enough to make our stay worthwhile. The apartment is clean, quiet, well equipped and the owner made our stay very comfortable.

My daughter, aged 12, and I stayed at this property for over 5 days: it was lovely. The quiet, the views of the marsh, the short walk to the town beach that wasn't even crowded during Labor Day weekend all made this the most enjoyable trip we have had in a long time. As a getaway for one or two people, I couldn't thing of a nicer, more convenient place for anyone in CT or NYC.

I am only 50 minutes from home but this was one of the best vacations I ever had. The apartment has everything I need along with cool breezes and birds greeting me in the morning. I am close to naming the egrets that stroll through the marshes every day. The hostess is very friendly and is ready to make your vacation comfortable. I will miss those welcoming views of green!
