Located on 15 wooded acres of private property, Asheville Lookout is a custom home of 2200 square feet ideal for couples and families of up to ten persons. Each bedroom has unique features; the Master King Suite with walk in dual head shower opens to the private, enclosed sun porch with 4 person hot tub; the East Queen bedroom has a spiral stair to the Upper Loft with a full-size futon and single bed for children; and the West Queen bedroom contains a baby crib and a private second story deck. Additional sleeping space is found in the Loft overlooking the Great Room. The Loft also houses a WindowsXP computer and wireless internet access for your laptop.
The Great Room with Gas log fireplace, sitting area and dining area has unimpeded southern views through the 16 foot glass doors and opens to a 16 by 50 foot deck with a picnic table and ample seating options. The Party Kitchen has everything you will need to prepare your meals; large and small appliances, 2 china services for 12, crystal glassware, table linens and plenty of cutlery. Enjoy a candlelight dinner, outdoor barbeque or an evening campfire in the fire pit!
Take a hike up to the top of the mountain with your pet to enjoy the view of the Brushy Mountains and the Bee Tree Valley below. Wander down to the stream and enjoy the sound of the water going over our little waterfall!
Asheville Lookout is located 10 miles East of Asheville and West of Black Mountain. The Biltmore Estate is 15 miles away. Take day trips to Lake Lure, the Pisgah National Forest, Chimney Rock Mountain, The Botanical Gardens and downtown Asheville! Enjoy hiking the Blue Ridge and white-water rafting on the French Broad River! Come to the Festivals of Black Mountain and Asheville.
Asheville Lookout is your private mountain retreat while also close to the amenities of town. Restaurants, site-seeing and antiquing opportunities abound, and grocery shopping is just "down the mountain". A 4 wheel drive vehicle is not required to reach Asheville Lookout.

The Unique Benefits at this Chalet
Private and secluded, our home is an "away from it all" mountain experience. Enjoy the hot tub, two large decks with excellent daytime views and nighttime stars, cool mountain breezes and the sounds of birds and other wildlife. Hike the property to find the rhododendrum grove, discover wild flowers and patches of wild strawberries. Enjoy being in the woods while still close to Black Mountain and Asheville's restaurants, shopping and activities.

We built our home in Swannanoa for our eventual retirement from our busy lives in Northern Virginia, where we raised three children and now enjoy being grandparents. The house was constructed using the poplar trees on the property for the interior woodwork and stones off the mountain for the rock garden and walls. We hope that our guests enjoy our continuing efforts to landscape and beautify our home!
