Luxury Ski Chalet with Hot Tub and Gameroom, Sleeps up to 10

Perfect for our family - and should be for yours

Guest: NWSkier (Washington)
Date of Stay: 12/28/11 Review Submitted: 01/04/12

We booked the Chalet over winter break and spent the time with 2 sets of grandparents. 4 kids aged 4mo - 13 yr and 5 adults 35 - 65. We are a big family! The house is set up perfectly for a group like ours. The teenagers were able to crash downstairs, watch TV and generally be out of our way as necessary, while we were able to enjoy the main floor. The exception to this was while the kids took on the grandparents at air-hockey! Who knew grandma was so good! The hot tub was perfect as well! It is obvious that the owners of the Chalet have a pride of ownership, as everything was well stocked and the place was in great condition. We highly recommend this place for a group like ours and we decided it would be a great place for 2 families to share - something we intend on doing in the future.

Great place

Guest: N (Vancouver)
Date of Stay: 11/11/11 Review Submitted: 11/17/11

Great place, fact that you cant access internet / cell phone is refreshing. Place was in great renovated conditions and loved the foosball/ping pong and air hockey. Only concern is the hot tub takes approx 3 hours to heat up to max temperature but once heated up it was great for the rest of the weekend. Recommend this place A++

Owner response:We're glad you had a great stay! We're sorry the hot tub took awhile to heat up. It is our policy to keep it at 102 at all times, but sometimes guests put it in sleep mode before they leave. Sorry about that!

Our stay was great. The kids play areas on the first floor are a life saver ;-) Everything was as advertised and even better. Home is very clean and very well maintained. I would highly recommend it for groups of friends/family or couples with kids.

Great chalet for winter or summer

Guest: mschumps (Vancouver, BC)
Date of Stay: 10/06/11 Review Submitted: 10/06/11

I've stayed here multiple times in the winter and summer times, and have loved each visit! The chalet is very clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable. We love the extra large picnic table on the porch - great for a large outdoor dinner party! We've enjoyed awesome snowshoeing up at Mt Baker in the winter, and the many hikes in the area in the summer/spring. And, there's nothing like coming back from a day's excursion to a totally relaxing hot tub (or starting our day with a soak!). We've stayed here with smaller groups of 4 or 5 to larger groups of 10 and it's been great each time. Plenty of room for everyone in bedrooms, kitchen and dining areas - and great that there's two full baths. Would definitely recommend this place.

Owner response:Thanks a lot for your kind words! Just one clarification: we actually have three full bathrooms.

An amazing home away from home

Guest: Ace (Surrey BC)
Date of Stay: 09/02/11 Review Submitted: 09/09/11

From the moment we walked in, we were in love with the house. The hot tub is in amazing condition, the appliances are all new if not close to new, there are two ipod docks, one of which is portable, and the layout of the house is just so cozy! On taking a poll when departing, all 8 people who came up with us were a 10/10 on likelihood of returning! Thank you, owners, for being very accommodating!!!

I have stayed at this property two times and have always had a wonderful experience. The property was clean, the beds comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked -- had everything needed for cooking and serving. I would highly recommend this property either to relax or take advantage of the many outdoor activies.

Great Baker Getaway

Guest: Winnik (Vancouver)
Date of Stay: 11/19/10 Review Submitted: 07/19/11

We're repeat visitors, having stayed at this cozy and clean cabin on three occasions. The cabin has ample space to host several guests, with a great playroom for kids downstairs, and comfortable sitting room & eating area for the adults upstairs. The kitchen was fully equipped to meet our needs, and it was a bonus to have access to the washer/dryer. We also loved the hot tub after a busy day exploring Mt Baker. One of my most important criteria when selecting a vacation rental is cleanliness, and this cabin doesn't disappoint. Each time we have arrived to a lovely, clean space and have been able to settle into vacation mode right away. And the owners..so great. They have anticipated visitors needs and provided a helpful book of local eateries/shops/maps. For the price and quality of this rental, this place is a steal! The pictures don't lie - the cabin really is that beautiful. Hope to stay again soon!

Spacious with lots of extras, loved it!

The furnishing are wonderful and clean. There is a lots to do like air-hockey, hot tubbing and hiking around the area. It is one of the closest places to stay from Baker, so getting up for skiing wasn't too bad. There is plenty of beds, so it can fit lots of people which we did. We had a great time here and can't wait to use the cabin again. The large table is great for playing games and enjoying good food.

The Chalet is very clean and well maintained. It has a lot of ammenities for a very confortable stay. This is my second stay at the chalet. I really enjoyed both times immensely. I look forward to going back there in the future. The kids had a wonderful time playing foos ball, airhockey and table tennis. The chalet is well stocked with dishes to cook and serve. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is the place for you.

Mount Backer Challet

Guest: Bogdan (Pitt Meadows, British Columbia)
Date of Stay: 07/01/11 Review Submitted: 07/17/11

We will recomand this Challet just for the winter. We were guests in this challet in the summer and this is not a challet were kids have something to do. The tennis table is presented in the photo like new. In reality it is absolutely non functionable and is situated toghether with air hokey table inside an unfinished garage, close to the garbage bin, no windows, very creapy. No front yard or back yard. The barbeque after 1/2 hour on full working position was barelly hot; we put our hands on the top surface! We were lucky to have with us an charcoal barbeque wich we used somewhere on the front of house, after cooking, we were running inside up stairs to eat. Dear owners, the size of the barbeque is impresive but is unfunctional! The water in the hot tub is dirty. The cleaning outside of the house is in a very poor condition. Once again, we guess, it is a good destination for the winter, when you don't need to go on the front yard or back yard to play with the kids. This is the second time that we came to this complex in summer time and we were disapointed. We will definitely not come back at this challet!!

Owner response:We are sorry that this group didn't have a great time at our chalet! We want to address the complaints: 1) The ping pong table. We discovered it was in poor shape just before this stay, but couldn't replace it at the time - so we attempted a repair. We're very sorry that this group wanted to play on it, but couldn't. We replaced the ping pong table shortly after their stay. 2) The yard. Our cabin is in a mountainous area, and there aren't really lawns here, per se. We have kids ourselves (aged 5 and 7), and they love exploring the forest around the cabin, the river nearby, and riding their bikes in the quiet cul-de-sac. 3) The barbecue. We are perplexed by this one, because it has worked fine before and since this stay. We think maybe the guests inadvertantly tripped the OPD safety valve. This is a safety valve that reduces the gas supply to the barbecue. You can trigger this on any barbecue by turning on the gas too fast.
