The Green & Solar Cottage is an experience in comfortable, gracious living where everything is provided and at your fingertips!
Our main heat and electrical source is Solar energy. Radiant heat in the floor and in one wall on the second floor provides even, clean, comfortable heat. We are constructed of Structural Insulated panels (SIPS) which maintain the heat in the cooler months and the cool in the summer months.
We have a full-size kitchen with a comfortable dining area that seats 4 and can be easily expanded. A comfortable Living Room is stocked with books, current magazines, and a flat screen TV with a selection of DVD's. On the second floor we have a full bath with a Shower/bath combination, two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and one with a twin day bed and trundle twin underneath to either act as a sitting room, or a bedroom for two.
The Living Room opens on to a 24 ft x 12 ft mahogany deck that overlooks a vernal pond, and four birdhouses all of which are habited by wildlife. The photovoltaic solar panels are part of a pergola roof that provides shade control over a wonderful seating area. Walk out the door of our cottage and located across the street is Weetamoo Woods, a 500 acre preserve with beautifully groomed walking trails through fields, woods, streams and evidence of an old mill.
We are situated in a spectacular part of New England where all of the seasons are a feast for the beach bum or the explorer. Our shore line is a playground for sun worshipers, surfers, sailors and sea shell gatherers and surf casters. The Cottage has access to at least 4 beaches within a 2 mile area. Tiverton and Little Compton both have busy harbors where boats can be moored. The harbors of Newport and Bristol, RI are nearby.
Exactly 1/2 mile from the cottage and a pleasant walk is the Village of Tiverton Four Corners. Here you will find a wonderful coffee shop and deli located in a beautiful turn of the century building . There are Decorative home shops, wonderful gift and card shops, a creative clothing boutique, a wonderful children’s clothing store, a handmade pottery shop and much more. Shoppers will be generously satisfied. For Foodies: The Four Corners Grill serves breakfast, lunch and dinner both inside and out( weather permitting) and a trip to famous Gray’s Ice Cream is a must. There is an exquisite cheese shop that offers imported cheese and other related yummies. The Meeting House at Four Corners is a treasure. This fabulous barn structure which sits on a rolling hill with a lazy pond and outdoor sculptures is the setting for concerts, antique shows, cultural fairs and can also be hired for weddings.
And don't forget our local farm stands and wineries!

Thanks so much for your hospitality and thoughtfulness. We enjoyed visiting the area and had a perfect bike ride on the East Bay Bike Path. Great location for our girls' getaway...shopping, eating and drinking."

What a fabulous cottage. Not only is it a warm, comfortable, unique and inviting place, it is green! What more could one ask for! Having coffee on the deck while watching birds of all kinds fly in and out of those very cool, strategically placed birdhouses along the perimeters of the pond was an added benefit! If you want a relaxing, zen-like experience, spend some time here. It will definitely feed your soul.
