Ideally suited to a group traveling together, Waikene Lodge offers superior accommodation on a working station.
At Waikene we breed Angus cattle, Merino sheep and trophy red deer. In addition to the farming activity we manage a 1,000 acre game park which guests may tour and photograph several game species in a natural habitat.
The popular destination of Kaikoura with its world famous Whale Watch and Swimming with Dolphins is only 20 minutes from the lodge.
The recently built 4 star lodge has 4 double bedrooms, sleeping 8 people, each with its own en-suite bathroom. Your party will also enjoy full use of the great room which has a bar, dining area, sitting room and huge log fire. The lodge is rented as an entire unit of four bedrooms for a minimum of three nights. Catering is available upon request. Note that individual rooms are not available. Children are catered for and babysitting is available.
A kitchen and separate toilet facility are in the lodge as well as clothes washing and drying facilities.
We also have a newly constructed 4 bedroom house (sleeps 10) which is available for an extra charge for additional guests or for staff traveling with your party.
