We loved the house. So many positive things to say. The location, the beach, the country, the food (we were delivered food each day and cooked which suited us).. the pool is small but enough.. the incredible ocean 35 metres away.. the sweet iguana's everywhere. Monkeys along the road from the airport. But at the ned there are two key take-aways.. 1. The service granted us was simply fantastic. You can be sure that whatever your needs are, you will be accomodated by intelligent, kind souls.. who are on top of everything. 2. The best recommendation we can give is that we rented this house for 8 days.. and then booked one month for 2014 because it was the best holiday of our lives. It does not get better than this.. and we are discriminating guests Enjoy it. Please don't book the entire year on us in 2015.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car.

Had a great time at the White House. The house and beach were so beautiful we are already planning our return trip. Mario is a great guy and can help with anything. Rent atv's for a great adventure and have a dinner catered at the house by Tortsen for a real treat.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

My lovely young wife and another couple just got back from spending several nights at the White House of Costa Rica and can't wait to go back. The home looks like the photos (we knew that ahead of time - over New Year's we stayed at the small resort next door, Pranamar Villas), the place was clean and comfortable, and the person who manages the House could not have been nicer or more accommodating - he had groceries we asked for waiting for us (and added coffee, something we foolishly forgot) and had two ATVs already rented for us. We happily ate breakfast and lunch at the amazing restaurant at Pranamar, and grilled at the House for dinner. We spent three wonderful days walking on the beach, lounging in the pool, napping, and listening to the waves. We were there in rainy season, which we prefer to the dry season - it rained at night and little (maybe an hour) during day, the rest of the time was warm and wonderful. An advantage of the rainy season is that the jungle is lush, but the beaches are largely empty. We had huge stretches of the Pacific Ocean basically to ourselves. Cannot wait to return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I recently stayed at the White House with another couple. We had an amazing time. The house itself is beautiful -- a modern structure with an abundance of glass and light, along with all of the creature comforts of a well equipped kitchen, seating for many, and fans/AC. As you step out the glass doors, you find multiple comfortable lounge chairs in sun and shade as well as one of the most beautiful infinity pools that I have ever seen. As you sit in the pool, leaning against the edge of the pretty blue tiles, you face an unbelievable view of the ocean. The listing description and photos were more than accurate. The property was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this property without reservation -- and hope to return again soon myself!Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, friends and I recently stayed at the White House of Costa Rica after seeing it from the beach on another trip to Santa Theresa. In short, we loved it. The house is spacious, modern, and comfortable. The view from everywhere inside is gorgeous, the porch even better, and within 15 steps, you are on the beach, listening to waves and befriending beach dogs. Paradise. The pool is even better than the pictures show. There is great food next door at Pranamar -- order the Typico for breakfast and one of the salads for lunch along with a great frozen drink -- you can't go wrong. Mario was lovely - easygoing and accommodating. He made sure our needs were met and checked in on us in the mornings to ensure everything was ok. He orchestrated ATV rental, charter flights on Carmona Air (which was GREAT) and ground transportation. A terrific visit to our favorite spot. We'll be back. I highly recommend this place (only please don't go when we want to rent it!!!!)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

spent a week in the main house with 4 friends and loved every minute of it. it was amazing to wake up and cook breakfast with that wonderful view of the ocean. the yoga resort right next door had a 9a class that was the perfect start to the day and from there i spent most of my time in the hammock by the ocean or in the infinity pool right on the beach. did i mention the massages on the beach? best massage i have ever had. the house is a short drive from town and we found lots of fun restaurants there also. the white house has it all-a great social layout with an awesome view and privacy of a house with the amenities of a resort. i've been recommending it to everyone i know since the moment i got back (and can't wait to go back again myself).Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

One of the best vacation spots I've even visited. The White House is everything the photos show and more! It's spacious and modern and filled with light. The property is beautiful and meticulously maintained. Mario, the manager, is such a pleasure, answering every question and sorting out anything we wanted to do. The staff The pool and deck were such a pleasure - we spent hours upon hours there. If you want sun, there was plenty of that. If you want the shade, you could sit under the overhang and relax. Especially fun was watching the evening rainstorm from the deck. The beach is beautiful and the sunsets were a nightly ritual, and were some of the most spectacular I've ever seen. Each one was different. Just a few hundred yards down was the perfect beach. A couple of us (not me!) surfed. The water was so warm it was like bath water! A good 20 degrees difference from Southern California Pacific.. Having the Pranamar Yoga Resort right next door made everything so easy. Some of us went to the (hard) yoga classes daily and sometimes twice a day. We all got multiple massages! And the food and drinks were delicious. Nearby restaurants were great as well. Some of the best fish I've ever had. Loved it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed in Villa 2 for our honeymoon 9/2010. After a long trip from NY, we were incredibly pleased to arrive at the property. Surrounded by beautiful plant life and literally steps from the beach, we felt secluded, safe and relaxed. The Villa was fully equipped with everything that we needed- full kitchen, water cooler, towels/linens, A/C, indoor and outdoor showers, soap/shampoo/paper products, plus a TV/stereo/wifi connection if you wish to use them. The design was impeccable, from the multiple porches to the overall architecture and layout. Everyone was so friendly and helped answer all of our questions about the area. We were able to book multiple excursions (zip lining, horseback riding, ATV rental, etc). The yoga resort next door is wonderful for a night out- great food and drinks! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I found that the house included all the comfort you can find at the beach. Beds were incredibaly comfortable and bathrooms spacious. The TV Room is an absolute plus with AC, cable and DVD. Just having view of the ocean from almost every point is worth the price, and nothing could be more relaxing than taking a nap in the bed at the oceansided. For those who like to surf, seemed to be a midpoint from great spots since surfers walked by morning and afternoon. Would defenitely come again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We knew from the photos that the White House was a fabulous property in a great location, but everything about our stay actually exceeded our expectations. The moment we arrived, to a warm welcome from the excellent staff, it felt like paradise. The house is truly spectacular - spacious, light, beautifully sculptured, filled with great art and equipped with everything we could have needed. The real Wow factor is the way the open-plan living area leads through sliding glass doors to the decking area and infinity pool, then though the hammocks shaded by palm trees to the wonderful beach. The kids were instantly in heaven and had plenty to keep them occupied in and around the house & pool. The Hermosa part of Santa Teresa, where the house is situated, is one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen, has tide pools for snorkeling and a fantastic child-friendly surf beach about 200 yards away. Right next door to the house there is a brand new Yoga resort, Pranamar, which has a fabulous restaurant and a great bar. We had an amazing time in Costa Rica are definitely planning to stay at the White House again next year.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

The Whitehouse is the most amazing place we’d spent our vacation at, the beach is beautiful, very peaceful. The house is extraordinary, very modern; it has open spaces which let you enjoy the breeze coming from the ocean right in front, every space is very comfortable and clean. We made this trip with friends and kids and we all had the best time ever. The staff makes you feel very welcome and they provide all the assistance you request. The town is very small, its people is very nice and friendly. Very close to the house we were able to get massages right on the beach, hearing the relaxing sounds of the ocean…. Just next door you can enjoy a yoga treat and all around there are lovely gourmet & small restaurants. It was something that we’re never gonna forget and we’ll be going back as soon as we can. My husband and I showed the pictures to our friends and family and for next time we’ll have to rent the attached villas, which are as wonderful as the big house.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Christmas vacation HEAVEN. We stayed in one of the beautiful, modern villas near the main house. The whole compound is highly energetic visually, bright and contemporary.The beachfront location was spectacular and convenient to local activities and restaurants. Immediate access to tidepools out front and a great swimming and beginner/intermediate surfing beach nearby at Playa Hermosa. Walking distance to nearby hotels and cafes, all via BEACHFRONT, made for a lot of beachcombing on incredible stretches of fantastic sandy beaches in either direction. Upon return, reading a book in a hammock under a palm tree can be one of life's simpler pleasures. Every comfort is considered and every need is met by the welcoming staff. We enjoyed a massage on-site, arranged by the property manager/concierge, as well as the options of a multitude of local activities, from Yoga, Pilates, zip-lines, Quads to horseback riding. Decisions,decisions... Many conveniences of home, one of the best of which is the hi speed internet access. We sipped our morning coffee on our front deck while reading the paper and e-mailing photos to family and friends back home via I-phone. Full AC and satellite TV are provided, but, mostly, we elected instead to "go native" and do without. However, we did find that on at least one occasion, after a long day at the beach, making dinner at "home", and popping a DVD into the flat screen TV while luxuriating in an air conditioned space can be an unexpected luxury. Having the option is great. Also wonderful is the local color. We met many amazing people from all over the world, both neighbors and visitors who live here, or make regular pilgrimages to this very special place on earth. Incredible beaches, environment and weather are par for the course here, but the people are really what makes it special and unique. It would be difficult to not have the vacation of a lifetime here, and impossible to not want to return to do it again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
