The main house features three bedrooms and two bathrooms - one of which offers an elegant private shower and whirlpool bath that overlooks the river. Boasting vaulted ceilings and intricate cedar woodworking, each of the bedrooms and the living room showcase beautiful views of the river, as well.

Be sure to bring your boat-Cissy's House is right below Canyon Lake. Hiking at Canyon Park is within walking distance from this property.
Popular hangouts for guests include Casa del Lago, which serves Mexican food with ice-cold mugs of beer, and Dam Red Barn Ice House. Both are located on Dam Road, directly across the river and through the woods from Cissy's House.

We took our annual tubing trip earlier than usual, but had a wonderful time. The house was just perfect for our large group. The view was absolutely amazing and I loved listening to the sound of the rushing water falling. Also, any of the tube rental places will come directly to the house and bring you back. The bunkhouse was very hot when we arrived but after a few hours with the ac on, the room was very cool. We loved the fact that everyone could sit and eat together. Highly recommend this house and will definitely rent again!!

We had a family reunion and everyone( especially the kids!) had a great time. We went tubing on the Guadalupe, swimming at Canyon Lake and went hiking. Nobody wanted to leave! This cabin is very charming and the bunkhouse is very unique and perfect for teenagers or single adults. Only wish the river was high enough that we could've started tubing right from the cabin, oh yeah you can do that! This place is very spacious and the kids had so much to do, we only saw them when it was time to eat!lol We are definitely coming back! Thank you so much for the wonderful memories made here.....

Rustic woodsy cabin on the River

Perfect for a large group. Bunkhouse is a bit drafty and musty for folks with allergies. Also, I would not recommended the bunkhouse for comfort during extreme cold spells, climate control in the bunkhouse is challenging. But, overall clean and very spacious. The outdoor decks are safe and very enjoyable. Easy access down to the water and rocks are situated safely for exploring and fishing along the bank. Highlights of our stay was our trip up to the Canyon Lake Observation area (only minutes from the cabin) and a brief shopping excursion in Gruene. Would be fun to return during the tubing season.
