Lee's Wharf (431 Thames Street) is the perfect, harbor side, summer retreat.

Recently renovated, this exciting, two-bedroom, carriage house is the former residence of America's Cup skipper Dennis Conner in 1979. Then it became the headquarters of the Australian America's Cup challenge in 1983. John Bertrand, skipper of Australia II, snatched the cup from Dennis Conner in the final race by beating him by 25 seconds. This ended the longest (132 years) winning streak in history.

Refitted with new furnishings, appliances, Pergo flooring, this two-bedroom, en suite full bath, carriage house is very special. The large living/dining area is perfect for entertaining or relaxing. It has a whimsical touch with its bold, primary-colored furniture. There is a small but adequate full kitchen. The location provides great views of the International Yacht Restoration School, docks and harbor with the New York Yacht Club, Ida Lewis Yacht Club and Fort Adams in the background.

Lee's Wharf is opposite Young St. on Thames. Since Young St. is a 2 way street, access to and from is not affected by the summer tourist traffic on Thames. This makes this location ideal.

Centrally located in the heart of the Newport action, Lee's Wharf is a place you will never want to leave.
