Just ten minute drive/bike to Salem Witch House, House of Seven Gables, Peobody Essex Museum, and surrounding culture. Close to train/bus into Boston if not driving the 30 minutes. Great "base" from which to explore all of New England, especially Boston, North Shore, and Southern New Hampshire and Vermont.
