Once again, we had a wonderful relaxing stay at the Goldstein's cabin. I believe this was our 5th visit to the cabin, and our 8th visit to Murphy. We love Murphy...but more than that, we love this cabin! We always try to stay here when planning our trips. The Goldsteins have put so much love and care into building and decorating this beautiful cabin! It is such a peaceful, serene setting with views of the mountains in the distance. We always enjoy a roaring fire in the beautiful stone fireplace, playing games, cooking dinners in the nice kitchen, etc. Always a wonderful getaway!

Nothing Less Than Perfect
Nothing Less Than Perfect
Wow, we had the most amazing time at your home. My grandfather was a custom home builder and he imparted his perfectionism and passion for building in my father, who now works in the commercial construction industry. He in turn taught me almost everything there is to know about building a home and doing all of your own home improvements. I say this because I found myself taking pictures of the hand hewn framing and attention to detail that was prevalent throughout your home. While my Fiancee was loving the decoration and I was loving the design, we both agreed that we would not have changed a thing. We/I cooked both nights (I consider myself fairly accomplished in the kitchen) and I was not at all disappointed in the equipment, spices, etc. Everything else, from towels and robes to grill utensils and chopped firewood was at our fingertips when needed. We will absolutely recommend your home to our friends and family, and any person really we deem worthy enough to enjoy your home. This was one of the weekends we will remember for the rest of our lives, and your cabin has played a large part in that. Thank you so much for everything, I am SURE we will be back to celebrate. Warmest regards, Elliot and Chara

My husband and I needed to get away from work and Michael and Wendy's cabin in Murphy was a wonderful place to do this. Breakfast on the porch as hummingbirds chirped and darted, lazy afternoon spent reading, listening to music from the Sirius radio, grilling fabulous dinners on the outrageous grill and then at night, a wonderful hottub under the stars. The cabin is well outfitted with anything one could want (including spices! That is so nice since cooking is always an important part of our day). It was clean, wonderfully maintained and fully stocked. On the first day we tried to do that mile walk down to the lake--it was impossible bushwacking and I got a lovely gash on my knee trying to get around downed trees...so that didn't work very well. The canoe on the property was really too big to deal with so the only way we could get access to Lake Hiwassee to swim (high on my list of things to do) was to rent a pontoon for the day. But what a blast that was! I highly recommend it. My ideal would have been for this cabin to be right on the lake but that was the only drawback. (But this wasn't a surprise, they don't say they are right on a lake). We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it. I will also say, as everyone else has, that Michael is incredibly helpful and there is something so wonderful about how they opened this home that they built (I found the album with the pictures of that process at it was delightful to see) to us--we felt like valued guests. If you are thinking about staying here, do not hesitate. Oh, the view is fabulous--in the evening we'd sit with a glass of wine, and just listen, look at the mountains and feel the incredible peacefullness that we sought. If you need TV, movies, there is a well stocked library and a huge flat-screen TV. A perfect getaway spot all in all!

Great place to enjoy the local rivers!
Great place to enjoy the local rivers!
Our family stayed her twice, one week in the summer of 2010 and 2011. We funyaked down the Nantahala River, white water rafted down the Ocoee River and pontooned down the Hiwatha River. We had fun filled days and always looked forward to returning to the cabin where we could thoroughly relax. This has been a favorite vacation cabin for us and we highly recommend it.

If you are looking for a place to take a break from your fast paced life....look no further. This beautiful log home has everything you will need. The pictures don't even come close to how tranquil and peaceful this place really is. Not only is it beautiful but when you walk through the door you feel a very warm, cozy and comforting welcome. You can feel the energy and love from the family that built this house. The antiques, photos and family heirlooms around the house are a perfect touch to spending time away from your own home. We did a lot of fishing, H&H Sporting Good Store in Murphy and Howard's Fishing Tackle Store were very helpful with finding good places to go fishing. Mike and I highly recommend walking the historic trails in Murphy and going to Cherokee Lake for fishing, a picnic or taking a nice nature walk. Mike & Wendy are very helpful and quick to answering all emails, phone calls and by the time we returned home I had an email that my refund was in the mail. We have and will continue to highly recommend this place to our friends and family. Ingles is a very nice and clean grocery store about 2 miles away. No worries with this rental, book it and enjoy!
