Awesome, spectacular views right from your bed! The cabin sits high on a ridge overlooking the Twin Lakes and four of Colorado's highest peaks, including the tallest - Mt. Elbert. The cabin is on the lake side of the first road on the ridge. The only thing between you and the view is crisp, clean, mountain air.
The first floor, Mt. Hope studio apartment is just what the Dr. ordered. A Little TLC for the senses. A roomy, 600 Sq. Ft. apartment. One large, central room has a sleeping area on one end, with a comfy queen bed and down comforter.
The opposite end of the central room has a TV/sitting area with recliner and log futon. Two additional rooms complete the apartment. They consist of a spacious, modern bath with shower and a kitchenette (frig, micro, cooktop, coffeemaker). There is lots of light and awesome views from two 6 foot windows in the studio's main room and a four foot window in the kitchen. We think you will find it to be a comfortable and clean "home-away-from-home."
A complimentary Breakfast Basket includes coffee, teas, cereal, etc. The kitchen and apartment are fully equipped. All you really need is yourself, your clothing/essentials and food/drink items. Satellite TV with DVR allows you to record your favorite shows or sporting events while you are out having fun.
Twin Lakes is centrally located - a great jumping off point for your vacation fun. It is east of Aspen over Independence Pass - one of the truly great drives in the USA. Leadville to the north, Buena Vista and Salida to the south are full of things to do and see. One to one + half hours away via scenic highway drives are Copper Mountain, Vail, Frisco, Silverthorne and Aspen.
Try golf at Mt. Massive - the highest 9 hole course in America. Raft on the famed Arkansas River. 4x4 the several local passes and roads to Ghost Towns. Enjoy hiking, fishing, photography and birdwatching just outside the door. Come see the golden Aspen leaves in Sept.

DIRECTIONS: From I-70 go south from Copper Mountain on CO 91 to Leadville. Take US Hwy 24 East (you will be travelling south by compass) 15 mi. to CO 82 to Twin Lakes. As you see the lakes to the left, LOOK RIGHT and turn right on a right turn lane onto CR 10 (small blue sign). Follow the asphalt 1 mile, take the first hard left onto the largest hardpack road (Ross Dr.). Go approx. 3/4 mile and make the first left (Mt. Hope Dr.). 48 Mt. Hope is the 3rd cabin on the left - park next to the ore cart. From the south (Buena Vista, CO)take Hwy 24 West (you will be travelling north by compass)approx.to CO 82, turn west and follow the above directions.

This was an amazing trip...we had a fantastic view and the pictures were right on however seeing it in person was even more amazing! I LOVED everything about the place. It definately was a home away from home experience with a better view! We were centrally located from all the little surrounding cities! So much to do, wish we could have stayed longer! There is so much history to all the towns, we found everything so fascinating! The owners were so helpful with any questions we had...our living space was so tighty and perfect for what we were looking for. I love how secluded it was from everything, I would recommend this to any couple that is looking to just get away. Thank you guys so much and we cant wait to come back! We had a great time!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at TLC this July. It was comfortable, and the view we had when we woke up each morning was priceless. It was prefect for the two of us. The location worked out for us as we explored the Trail of the Silver Kings in Leadville and Independence Pass. It would also be a terrific place to stay for anyone wanting to go fishing or hike to the top of Mt Elbert - or just someone wanting to relax and enjoy the scenery.

This was truly a nice experience for us. We have never vacationed to Colorado, but found this trip to be quite wonderful. The studio apartment is well furnished and supplied with all of the comforts of home, so you don't really want or need for anything except for groceries. The owners are great and on-hand to answer questions and ready to meet your needs. The views and the items listed to do were on-hand and too numerous to count. If you like exploring mountains, lakes, streams, unique towns, outdoor and indoor activities, and a fantastic mountain pass trip to Aspen, then this stay will work extremely well for you. With Leadville close by, we found this town to be great to hang out in and the people extremely friendly. We will certainly be back!

The views from the cabin and of the surrounding area are gorgeous. The apartment is clean and fully-equipped. The air is perfectly clear; at night you can see thousands of stars in the sky. The setting is peaceful, and the cabin's location is ideal for either a completely relaxing vacation or an activity-packed one.

The Twin Lakes Cabin is a taste of paradise in the mountains! We have stayed at the TLC the past two years and plan on making this an annual vacation. It has everything you would want for the perfect getaway and the view is priceless!
