Regency Villas were built in 2005 offering beautiful, modern, spacious condominiums.
This vacation haven is equidistant between the Grand Hyatt Kauai and Shipwreck Beach and the world famous Poipu Beach and Brennecke`s Beach. Less than ten minutes walking time will take you to either. The Regency Villas are graced by a beautiful walkway called the greenbelt which provides you with walking paths throughout the Poipu Kai area, a 70-acre resort consisting of several unique condo developments, a residential area with homes, a large tennis facility (Poipu Kai Racquet Club), pool, hot tub and garden paths connecting the areas of the resort.
Imagine yourself walking to beautiful Poipu Beach, perfect for swimming, snorkeling or laying out in the sunshine. Poipu Beach also has a large grassy park with a children`s play area, showers, bathrooms, restaurants and shopping. Next door, you will find Brennecke`s Beach--Kauai`s premier body surfing and body boarding beach.
In the other direction, you will discover the beauty of Shipwreck Beach to watch the sunrise or climb the Mahaulepu Coastal Trail beginning just beyond the beach. This trail is a special part of the Kauai History Heritage site and the last stretch of accessible coastline on the South Shore that has not been developed. The trail leads to beautiful Mahaulepu Beach, a great place to spot whales in the winter or observe (from a distance) a Monk seal napping on the beach.
Or, try wandering around the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa`s lush tropical gardens or indulge in a reviving treatment at the resort`s world-class Anara Spa. This lovely setting lets you easily explore the natural wonders of our Garden Isle of Kauai. Try dining at one of several delightful restaurants or enjoy Kauai`s galleries and shops. Treat yourself to one of Kauai`s best luaus, featuring authentic dance, events and cuisine.
On the opposite side of the Hyatt, only a ten-minute walk away, is the world famous Poipu Bay Golf Course situated on 210 oceanfront acres--challenging at all levels of play and yet fun for the novice as well. Poipu Bay hosted the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 1994-2006.

Fabulous house, lots of space when sharing with fr
We booked this house whist visiting Kauai for a wedding. The rest of the wedding party were staying at various other local resorts. We opened the front door and said "Wow". The house is outstanding, lots of room, high quality kitchen and appliances, nice linen and towels. When sharing with friends this is the perfect house, communal but with plenty of space to spread out. Can recommend highly enough and with the car included fantastic. The Great Vacations team made booking from australia extremely simple and stress free. The only lower scoring aspect was the pool. Whilst stunning, clean with plenty of loungers is a little small. So we were fine as it was lower season but I would imagine in busy times it could get pretty busy and the 'early morning lounger grab' a must.

It's all great
The location was great, the condo was spacious and had an outdoor bar b q that we used. It was hard finding the path to walk back from the beach was the only problem. My friends and I had a poor sense of direction and forgot to notice the exact path to return--and it was dark. So, advice to others. Notice something more than the flora and fauna, so you can return easily. Loved the whole vacation and the experience with GVR!

Pretty goodGuest comment entered by manager
Being conditioned to cool weather in San Francisco, we've learned that we don't cope well during hot Hawaiian nights. So this time we planned our entire vacation based on places that were air conditioned. The condominium we were provided with was beautiful, well appointed and, uh, the air conditioning was broken. Although the resort had a handyman on call, he wasn't an air conditioning guy and nobody was available to fix the situation for the next couple of days. The management, however, moved us to another condominium and gave us what we felt was a fair credit for the two nights we spent manufacturing sweat. Overall, and very, very nice experience - but I suppose that Kauai is a bit more laid back than we experience in big mainland cities, and if something big goes wrong during the weekend, hope it's something that the handyman (a good guy, by the way) can fix himself. One other thing - while the resort ad says that you can use the Kiahuma Plantation pool, apparently that news didn't get to the people who managed the pool - another factor in our decision to stay there. That lead to an embarassing situation where we were actually asked to leave the pool. It took quite a while for the situation to be ironed out, but eventually we were able to use the pool without being treated as trespassers.

Great locationGuest comment entered by manager
We stayed here a couple of years ago and had a great time. The condo is located within walking distance of the best boogie-boarding beach. This year we went back to Hawaii and stayed on the big island. My teenage son said he wished we had gone back to Kauai because the beaches were better. There were 2 minor complaints we had about this condo. First, the beds are very firm and because of this, a little uncomfortable. Second is the noise that can come from upstairs. Thankfully the people above us kept roughly the same hours as we did and so the noise was tolerable.

We had the best time! This place was perfect for our group of 9. Everyone was comfortable. Such a nice walk to the beach. We loved to sit out on the lanai and watch the birds. Everything was just what we hoped for. We plan to return for sure!!

Nice spacious condo in great location
We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The condo was very clean and well stocked. Great location, only a 5 minute walk to beach. Pools were nice for kids although we learned that we didn't have a key to the pool closest to us. The swim club down the road was supposed to be a great place for kids but we found it was not as nice as the pictures led us to believe. Only other problem was the grill.. Ours was out of propane and we couldn't find anyone to come to fill it for us so we had to use one further away from our unit. All in all, we were happy with our stay. Beautiful island!!

Excellent VacationGuest comment entered by manager
My husband and my daughter and her family all stayed at Regency Villa 221. There were 6 of us in total. We had 2 grandchildren ages 5 and 7. This place was perfect for us all. We had more then enough room. Every morning my granddaughter and I would get up and walk to Brenneki's at the beach for a morning pastry and coffee. We saw the turtles swimming almost everyday! We tried out both pools (the one on site and the Kiahuna Swim Club). The kids liked the swim club because of the water slide but mostly we just walked to the beach and swam there. I had trouble with the phone (didn't work for two weeks) but Christine was very helpful and the Telco finally got it repaired. The service light came on in our fantastic Sub Zero huge fridge. Brett was there immediately to fix it (it was nothing really). Had an issue with our kitchen sink plumbing, called and Brett arrived immediately again to fix it. This is the first that we have ever had to "rent" beach equipment. We have stayed at many condos and the equipment has always been part of the unit. There were ample amounts of towels, bathroom supplies, etc. The kitchen had everything we needed (could have used some extra plastic storage containers for the beach cooler) and although they give you a one pot coffee package to get you started I wish they had coffee filters in the condo. We picked up all our groceries as soon as we left the airport and were disappointed to find out in the morning that there were no coffee filters. What happens to all of them after people check out? Also, the coffee did not have an auto turn off which I found a little strange for a rental condo. Twice I went back to the condo to make sure we had turned it off. The unit had aC but we preferred to use the ceiling fans. The ensuite shower is beautiful after a day at the beach and the kids enjoyed the jacuzzi tub. I would definitely stay at this condo again. We were there for 3 weeks and hated to leave.

Beautiful Place, Beautiful LocationGuest comment entered by manager
Beautiful Place, Beautiful Location
We stayed in Rv221 with a family group of three generations including parents and parents-in-law and we couldn’t help but get along in such great place and beautiful location. Everything was as pictured and described. The unit was clean, well-built and well-maintained. This is the best located of the units in the building, 2nd floor corner looking out over the gardens and greenbelt. The pool was beautiful. We didn’t think we’d use it much, but it turned out to be a nice place to hang out in the late afternoon after spending the day at the beach. The very nice BBQ is right outside the door. We used it almost every night. Carly and Lou at Great Vacation Retreats were a pleasure to work with. Also, the very nice gentleman at the office who helped me figure out why my lap top wouldn’t connect with the Wi-Fi. Definitely consider the rental car option: Lou picked us up at the airport and within 10 minutes we were off on our own in a very nice Toyota Corolla while my parents were still standing in line at the avis counter for another 40 minutes. I’d also recommend the beach/equipment rental option – good quality items that really came in handy especially the cooler for lunches on the go. If you have children that are too big for strollers but still get tired at the end of the day, you may want to rent the wagon as well. It took forever to walk the path back up from the beach to the condo with an exhausted 4.5 year old. We had a great time exploring Kauai and it was so nice to return to 221 at the end of the day. I miss my morning coffee on the lanai and can’t wait to return.

Wonderful Opportunity to Vacation as a FamilyGuest comment entered by manager
Wonderful Opportunity to Vacation as a Family
We were looking for an opportunity to take a vacation with our adult son and his wife, our college graduating senior who would be moving away from home, and our 2 other children. We were looking for a vacation home that would allow space for each all of us, at the same time keep us under the same roof to enjoy each others company. Regency 221 accomplished the job! The kitchen/dining area provided plenty of room to store, prepare, and eat morning meals comfortably. The 3 bedrooms were large enough to keep our personal belongings in tact without feeling like we were stepping over them. Since we had 3 full bathrooms and five females traveling in the group, getting ready for the day was never an issue. In the evening we enjoyed sitting back and relaxing, either in the comfy living room or on the back lanai. The unit is just close enough to the pool, a few afternoons we decided to grill hamburgers and hot dogs and just enjoy not going out. The beach - only a short walk, but it is a beautiful walk. Regency 221 is close enough that we did not feel as if we had to go down and "camp" out on the beach - the flexibility to go back and forth was great. The only downside to the condo is the guests are not allowed to adjust the inside temperature of the air conditioning, making for some warm nights trying to sleep.

Exceptional family retreat
The best thing we cans say is...we don't know when we can pull off another family vacation like this but when we do, we will be back!! We have a new out of college-working child, one in college child and one high school child. Finding a place that gives us all something to do and our own space is tough to do. Except for the weather (it rained hard and for hours and hours 5 days out of 8) We had a delightful retreat! The conveniece of having a car included, beach stuff delivered, pages and pages of information sent to us prior to our trip was priceless. All the information sent from Great vacations prior to our arrival took away the anxiety and time it takes to get to know the area before your vacation truly starts. Our vacation started as soon as we met Lou at the airport with our car!

About: Aloha~ Thank you for viewing my properties! My name is Amy Grant and I own a boutique vacation management company in Kauai called Great Vacation Retreats. I happily work and reside in Kauai and have been managing vacation rentals on the Garden Isle for almost 4 years. Been married to my husband, Scott, since 2003 and we have a beautiful little girl named Presley. When we aren't busy chasing her around, we enjoy going to the beach, cooking and traveling. I love working with my guests to find the perfect place for them to call home while on vacation. It can be overwhelming trying to pick out the right property -- I can help. My staff and I take great pride in the properties we manage and believe that we truly have some of the best properties the island has to offer. We have been in each property numerous times and stayed in most so that we can give you an accurate description of what each property's amenities are, distances to the beach, sightseeing, restaurants, etc. We can also help you with any activities you might be interested in while on island such as surfing lessons, private boat charters, guided hikes, stand up paddling, personal chef, childcare and much more! Mahalo for looking :)
My husband and I were married at Kee Beach on the North Shore and visited the island several times after. We used to manage vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe and many of the owners also owned property in Kauai and asked if we would be interested in starting a business here. After a couple of years, we finally made the move and have been blissfully happy ever since. The island has so much natural beauty and outdoor activities, yet it still doesn't have that 'big resort' feel. It is a great, safe place for children and also makes for a perfect honeymoon or anniversary destination.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy here -- going to the beach, surfing, stand up paddling, horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, taking a boat charter along the Napali Coast, kayaking, camping, biking, etc. I enjoy getting a spa treatment at the Anara Day Spa at the Hyatt. If you enjoy going to a spa, their facial is perfect. My husband and I met at culinary school and consider ourselves 'foodies'. We love the Kilauea Bakery for a great cup of coffee and the bialys (stuffed bagels) are amazing. Some other restaurants that we enjoy are Josselins, the Kalaheo Café, Postcards, Roy’s, Tip Top Café and Kauai Pasta just to name a few. There are some wonderful farmers markets here and fish markets (Hanalei Dolphin is the best) with their fresh local catches of the day. Ahi is, of course, an island favorite and can be found at many of the restaurants throughout the island. Whale watching is from December - March and is quite a sight to see. Some of the best golf courses in the US are located in Kauai. We work with some activity providers that provide personalized hikes and activities that are 'off the beaten path' and truly show you what Kauai has to offer. Includes membership to the Kiahuna Swim and Tennis Club Open daily 8am to 6pm Swimming pool with water slide Kid`s sandy beach play area 8 Tennis courts with $5 racket rental Pro-shop staff can assist with scheduling games & extra players if needed On-site restaurant Casa Blanca opens at 11am daily Pool side lunch and drinks
