Wem so was alles nichts ausmacht, der möge da wohnen. Wir bestimmt nicht mehr.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I was gone for a 5 weeks backpacker's trip to visit Costa Rica and Panama. We spent an average of 2 nights at every place and we used to look in the Lonely Planet to find all the places we slept. Finaly, we met someone during our trip who just spent few days at Panama's Paradise and really enjoy his stay. So, we decided to try it even if it was not in our favorite book (lonely)! It was clearly the best place we did in all the trip! We spent 5 nights instead of 2 because we relly appreciate the place! The rooms where big, clean, we had a private bathroom and kitchen, we can rent bikes for free and Jenny was wonderfull with us! We left the hotel after 5 days because we needed to continue our trip but we were really sad to leave this paradise! On the 15 places we did during our trip, Panama's Paradise won the first price :) Thank you very much for everything Jenny!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Looking for a nice place away from the main touristy area, this is the perfect place to be! Nice apartments, pretty decorated and very important a good bed and a good shower! Only a 5 minute bike ride away from all the shops and restaurants and.. the bike is included! I was on Bocas to relax and this place was my home for a couple of days. I loved to bike around the island and then to come 'home' away from the busy area to relax in the hammock on the spacious veranda or watch some TV. The apartments are nicely located in the neighbourhood of Saigon where you get a real feel of how the locals live and see the typical Carribean lifestyle. Very laid back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

Rent a painted wooden house in atmospheric Bocas del Toro, a charming town built in the nineteenth century by the United Fruit Company. Hang out with hummingbirds on the balcony, discover sloths, red frogs and the most beautiful butterflies, plus find all sorts of undersea creatures on snorkelling and diving trips. This wonderfully atmospheric property located in the local part of town, reachable on bicycles provided by your lovely landlady Jenny. Our favourite spot in Central AmericaRecommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Hi Simon and Rachelle! Thanks! I am glad to hear that you liked it. And very proud that you called it your favorite spot in Central America! Take care! Jenny

We stayed for a couple of days in one of the lovely cabanas of Panama's Paradise. It was our favourite accomodation during our travel in Panama. Why stay in a hotelroom if you can stay in your own little wooden house with a lovely porch surrounded by plants and kolibris for the same price? The location is not in the centre of town but in an area called Saigon. We really enjoyed it, because it felt like we were experiencing the real Bocas, instead of the tourist strip. And you get free bicycles, so the centre is just a couple of minutes away! Also, the bicycles are perfect for exploring the islands beaches!Did you find this review helpful? This place is great. The location is great, we really liked being in a neighborhood and having the bikes to ride around and explore and get into town. The cabana was wonderful, the beds are comfortable and the porch was like a big outdoor living room. We spent most of our time out there. I loved the random sounds of the neighborhood--the birds, roosters, dogs, music (at one point and Frank Sinatra). The only thing I'd change, and I recommend this everywhere I stay because it's not usually done, is to provide some sort of dock for an iPod so visitors can listen to music. Jenny, the proprietor, is very welcoming and helpful. We loved it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/3

These nice cabins are located 5 minutes from bocas town by bike. the great advantage you get when you stay here are the free bikes you can use! So you can easily go to the nearby beaches and bocas town. The cabins are really clean with a fully equiped kitchen and a hot shower. When you visit bocas del toro this is really a great place to stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

We had two rooms neighbouring each other (one with kitchen and both with bathroom) and share a porch where you can relax and chill in your hammock. It´s in a quite neighbourhood less then 10 minutes from the town centre by bike. Bikes are included so you can easily get anywhere. It´s a nice and authentic place, clean, friendly service, wireless internet, good information on what´s there to do on bocas, in other words, all that you are looking for! I can strongly recommend it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/3

Gorgeous, cosy cabanas, with a local flavour in the midst of the 'real' Isla Colon, Bocas del Toro. Perfect if you want to avoid busy touristy backpackers party hostels and get away from it a little bit. The apartments had a very homely feel, with lots of lovely little touches, and Jenny, the owner, had thought of everything in the way of utensils, crockery, storage space, shelves, (sky TV) etc. We ended up staying for 7 weeks, and becoming friends with Jenny, who would always be around if anything went wrong. We will always remember our chilled afternoons lying on the hammocks on the balcony and watching the humming birds feed, as well as riding around town on our pink bikes - free if you stay at the cabanas - a great selling touch. Thank you! We will be recommending to friends.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

Travelling with friends for over the last three months, we have seen a lot of different places. Unaminous we came to the conclusion that this is the place that we liked the most, by far. We rented three rooms (Saigoncito 4, 5 and 6) on the second floor with a big veranda. These rooms are very confortable: good matrasses, warm water showers and the kitchens had everything that we could possibly need. Every day we had fresly blended fruit juices and enjoyed our ownhome-cooking. Here we had all the space to relax in the hammocks: finally finished my book and even took a good picture of a hummingbird. This place is outside Bocas Town, but with the bike (included!!!) you are there in only a couple of minutes. Thank you for making our stay in Bocas unforgettable!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Isla Colon has many hotel options, but with the popularity of Bocas it is difficult to find something that is nice, reasonably priced and clean. We wandered around checking out hotels for well over an hour in the afternoon heat until we had the good fortune of running into Jenny. Her cabanas are located in a quiet neighborhood and all have private plant shaded porches with hammocks. The cabana was super clean with comfortable beds. The cabanas are about a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride from the main drag of Isla Colon. We appreciated staying in a true local neighborhood rather than in the tourist packed main hotel/hostel zone.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/3

This place is lovely and secluded. We enjoyed hanging out in the hammock on the back porch, and cooking at home. We were three late 20s/early 30s guys who certainly like to go out and have a good time. Being over in the Saigon neighborhood was not an impediment to going out, though, especially with the free bikes provided. We got the advantages of being in a quiet, tropical neighborhood house. But it was only a 5-7 minute, flat bike ride to the bars and restaurants in Bocas Town (the main part of Isla Colon is really tiny). In fact, riding around in the sea air was one of our favorite parts of the trip. You can also walk to town in 10-15 minutes, or easily flag a cab for 50 cents-$1.50.Did you find this review helpful? My friend and I went to Bocas looking for a Caribbean get away and found the most charming places we could have imagined. He stayed in Saigoncito 5, and I had 6 - both complete little apartments with everything we could need. Including bikes (with baskets) with our room was fabulous and we used them everyday. Jenny was also very helpful with information and anything we needed. And the giant 2nd story deck with hammocks, chairs, and a table was nestled among the vegetation and was perfect for just relaxing with a book or waiting out a rain shower. I could go on and on - i found the place utterly dreamy and would have been happy to never leave. If you're wanting western style sterile accommodations you may be disappointed as geckos and possibly other creatures will find there way in with you, but those who love sweet and funky will fall in love.Did you find this review helpful? the rooms are very pretty and convenient. Some have a kitchen, which is pretty well equiped so it's easy to make your own food and save money. especially if you're staying for more then just a few days, this is a really nice place to settle down for a while, cause it's in a quiet piece of town and you get bikes with the room, so you can drive to town easy and fast.Did you find this review helpful? Saigoncito is wonderful! The owner, Jenny, is incredibly helpful. The house itself is well appointed, clean, and has fast internet. The porch and hammocks are perfect for sipping piña coladas and getting a feel for life in Bocas. Nice local neighborhood. The bikes that are included with the rental are a great way to get around town. We highly recommend trying this place out!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4
