Location: Danville, Iowa, USA (15 Miles from Burlington, Iowa in Southeast Iowa)

The farm is located in the country on a gravel road about 15 miles from Burlington and 20 miles from Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. It is the family "Home Place" and a great place in the spring, summer and fall for hiking into the 150 acres or go fishing (especially for children) in a pond behind the barn. It is place to get away for peace and quiet or stay for great family time or just a few couples. There is a large lawn for picnicking or can even carry things to the back fields.

The living room and family room combine to play games, watch TV, or find a quiet corner to read. The house has a real homey feel to it and plenty of room to sit and visit or lay around. Below is a description of all the places to go during the day, but a great place to "come home to."

You will always be able to find something fun in the greater Burlington area. Burlington, Iowa is located on the bluffs overlooking the Mighty Mississippi River. Highlights to see include, Snake Alley, named the “Crookedest Street in the World”, Fun City (a waterpark), Burlington Bees Minor League Baseball, Catfish Bend Casino, 34 Raceway (Stock Car Races that run April – Sept), the Mormon Pioneer National Historic Trail, Starr’s Cave Park And Preserve, and Bangert Gardens. Travel the Great River Road, dine at Burlington’s premiere restaurant, The Drake, that serves locally raised Elk from the Wildlife Lakes Elk Farm located in West Burlington. Some great annual events include Steam Boat Days (June)-Blues and Jazz music, fun and food at this 4 day event. The Riverfront Farmer’s Market (Apr-Sep), Port of Burlington Friday Fest (Friday evenings thru-out the summer) and the Great River Bridge Race (May), walk or jog the six mile race across the Mississippi to Illinois and back.
Near Danville you will find Geode State Park, named for the rocks that form crystal formations in their hollow cavities. The park offers swimming, picnicking/Camping, Trails, boating, fishing.

Travel a short distance to Mt. Pleasant and find a wide variety of activities that draw visitors year round! The largest event is the annual Midwest Old Threshers Reunion that celebrates Midwestern rural heritage and draws guests from across the country over the Labor Day Weekend each year. During the show, there is an annual Craft Show, featuring over 120 crafters in our downtown. Midwest Central Railroad also draws large crowds with “Ghost Train” in October and “North Pole Express” in December. During the summer, you won’t want to miss “The Great Gobble,” our June festival celebrating turkey and “Rock Around the Block” a music series held on Friday evenings in June and July.
