Our Coronado II unit 102 is located at 5701 Gulf Blvd. on South Padre Island oceanside, right across from a beach access. It's been completely remodeled this year. Living area features large cable TV, queen size sleeper sofa, and comfortable seating throughout. Master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed with large double closet. The second bedroom has a double bed with large dresser and cable TV. Kitchen features full size refrigerator with icemaker, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, and blender. Everything necessary to make meals. Dining area features dining for four, and three bar stools in bar area. Outside amenities include swimming pool with area for BBQ activities. There are fine restaurants within walking distance. Long term rentals available.

                        My wife and I stayed during November. I enjoyed how the condo is practically on the beach without the high price of a beach front condo. It was not a big deal when I forgot something at the condo while I was on the beach because it was so close. It is a first floor condo which makes it easy to bring items into or out of the condo. Those heavy groceries aren't so heavy when you are on the first floor. The first floor makes it nice for walking your dog (this condo does not charge any extra for pets!!!!) The condo was very clean. It had all the things we needed for a leisurely stay (coffee maker, toaster, etc.) The bathrooms were nice and clean. We used the nice outdoor pool each day. There are eating places and drinking establishments within walking distance. We liked not having to worry about driving to a place to eat and drink. Kelly's Irish pub is great for eating, drinking and watching sports. They turned the channel on one of their televisions so we could watch our home town team. A little park is within walking distance. A little store is also within walking distance for drinks and snacks. This condo had everything we needed for a wonderful time at a very reasonable price. We will be returning to this location for future vacations!!!!

                        Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

                        I enjoyed my week long stay at the condo. The owner was nice and gave a Military discount. It was nice to be able to play at the beach all day then enjoy the comfort of the cold AC at the condo (the dog really liked the AC) then unwind by the pool with some BBQ. This place had all the comforts of home kitchen, washer/dryer and two full bathrooms. I did not have any issues that were expressed in the previous review. The property manager was nice and had the property clean and ready to go when I showed up. Everything worked as it should for the duration of my stay. I had some family members that visited and commented on how nice the place was and are interested in booking a stay there. As for me I will be back (it is a 24 hr drive for me) and I definitely recommend this home away from home to anybody headed out to south Texas.

                        Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

                        The caustic review we have been given is borne out of malice and is a personal attack on its owners. The mold he refers to was brought on by his opening the front door, leaving the AC run and having the dehumidifier run all day and night.We did have 2 water issues but these were resolved very quickly. The renter expected us to stay and watch our workers while they put in his water heater late on a Friday night. We were unaware that he wished that we would stay and supervise these men. We reimbursed him $50 for the dinner which they ate after the worker men left. While he was there, we made him as comfortable as possible. Never once did he or his wife say,"Thank you".Renters like this we do not care to have.

                        This condo has a mold and maintenance problem, we stayed for over 2.5 months in 2012. While the owner did try to accommodate some repair many more are required, additionally we ended up having to remain at the condo for security of our possessions when the workers were there. He does not hire bonded workers. We faced everything from wiring problems, fixtures not installed properly, to flooding from upstairs both prior to and during our stay. The hot water tank rusted through and flooded the Condo while we were there, while this was replaced so was part of the kitchen cupboards as it was rotted out and found when the tank was being replaced.This fiasco ended up taking almost 3 days to finish. If you are considering this condo the location is good but both the interior and outside areas such as the walkway and the pool need a lot of extensive repair. I will not stay there again or recommend it to anyone.
