Year Purchased: 1981
My husband and I built this house from the ground up in 1981 (with the help of our many friends!) We have always loved the ocean and sailing. We grew up in Conn. on beautiful Lake Candlewood and have always loved the water. We spent many weekends with our children, family and friends working hard-- but having lots of fun--working on the beach house!
Why the Owner Chose Matunuck
My husband's sister and brother-in-law had just bought an old beach house on this same street and were fixing it up. When we saw this lot come up for sale, we knew we wanted to build a beach house, too.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Being by the ocean is so relaxing along with the freedom of not having to get in the car to go anywhere. Walking or biking to the beach, walking to the salt pond for kayaking and exploring, going to the market or farmstand or just sitting on the porch--all without picking up those car keys!! We love it! And so does everyone who visits!
