From the front door you can see the mansions of Chestnut street and the beginning of the downtown area of Salem.
It is a short walk to the downtown walking mall, the Salem Common, the historic areas and the waterfront, including Pickering Wharf, Derby Wharf, and Derby street. (A little further down Derby St. and you can board the high speed commuter boat to Bostons historic North End with its many Italian Restaurants, Boston Garden and land and sea tours of Boston and the Boston Harbor Islands. There is also a high speed commuter boat from Boston to Provincetown and the land and sea tour of Boston on the famous Duck Boats.) From this condo it is also a short walk to the Witch House, The witch Museum, The Peabody Essex Museum, and the train & bus station where you can take the inbound train or bus to Boston in one direction or the outbound train to Gloucester, Ipswich, Rockport, Manchester by the sea, or Newburyport. The Rockport and Manchester beaches are walking distance from the train station.
