Perfect spot

Guest: Cardley (Perrysburg, Ohio)

This was the ideal place for my husband, adult son and I to stay to visit Boston by train for history and museum tours. The train was wonderfully close, parking near to condo, great location near groceries and all the wonderful sights in Salem. We parked when we arrived and never had to drive until we left. A beautiful, historic city and the brewery with blueberry beer and good food was a short walk as well. Quiet building, compact condo but now crowed at all with 3 adults. I already recommended this perfect spot to everyone at work.

Best Place to stay in Salem

Guest: Chris (Cincinnati)

This was our first experience using VRBO, but certainly not the last. This condo was a gem. Everything about it - pristine clean as the owner promised it was and looked better in person than on the website. We used public transport from the airport and walked from the train to the condo and then walked everywhere in Salem. It was the perfect spot - quiet (we never heard another resident in the building) but very centrally located. There is no where you could stay in Salem for this reasonable price....then he even adds a free night after two paid nights. The owner sent us maps, area info prior to the stay and couldn't have been more helpful. I swam at the Salem YMCA (free with my own membership) which was 2 blocks away and then stopped by Dunkin Donuts for coffee and bagel. We came for a wedding - it was a beautiful weekend - loved the Farmer's market and took the high speed ferry upon Arthur's recommendation - a real treat. Ate at Finz which was on the water (excellent food). The rest of the wedding guests stayed at Hawthorne Hotel - I am sure nice - but we had everything - including a kitchen for half the price. Loved the condo, Salem and location.

Awesome Stay and Fantastic Host!

Guest: Nikki+Bill (Twin Cities, MN)

We visited Salem for our 30th wedding anniversary and stayed in the third floor apartment. The unit was spotless, tastefully decorated and everything was in working order including the A/C units. Queen sized bed was comfortable and full bathroom offered a small tub and shower. Our host provided us with a lovely celebratory basket including a bottle of champagne and two flutes. Be prepared for a 5-7 minute walk to the 'Old Town Hall' but the neighborhood is safe. We will definitely recommend this wonderful Host and place to stay to everyone!

The perfect spot!

I actually grew up in Salem but moved away and now that there is no longer a family home this was the best thing ever for visiting family and friends! The apartment is right in the center of everything, I walked to the Y and took spin classes in the morning, walked to the train to go into Boston one day, down to the Willows, etc. It was the perfect location. The apartment is very clean and I thought quiet even though it was a warm late spring weekend, I slept like a log on that comfy bed. In fact, I liked it so much I am going back next month! This will now be my new home when I vacation in my old hometown!

Convenient location, lots to do in Salem even off season. The stairs are an issue but, my legs are stronger now. Adequate kitchen, comfortable bed, quiet neighbors and lots of TV stations. It was everything we needed.

Salem Gem before Halloween

Guest: MM,UK (England)

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, and found it to be comfortable and well equipped. The level of cleanliness was also very impressive. The condo really is within walking distance of all Salem has to offer, and the parking pass provided for the lot across the road was very helpful. Arthur the owner could not have been more helpful and left lots of useful tips on the area and dining. Steps not a problem for us, we unloaded and loaded via the side door which was much easier. Thanks for a great stay Arthur.

HI-MI

Guest: bit (Erie, MI)
Date of Stay: 10/02/10 Review Submitted: 10/19/10

This was a nice place to stay in the heart of Salem. We walked everywhere and that was good because parking could be a problem. The condo was well equipped and clean. The carpet could use some attention. The only problem we faced was that we were not informed that the condo is on the third floor. We were considering leaving only because my husband is ill and disabled and it was quite a problem for him to go up and down three flights of stairs.

Owner response:After a few stairs to go from street level to the 1st floor, there are 2 flights of stairs to reach this 3rd (top) floor condo but the view and the quiet of having no one above you should be worth it. The carpet (the condo and furniture) are neutral colors but as stated by the reviewer it is and always will be clean. I sincerely apologize for not making it clearer that there are 2 flights of stairs to reach this condo and I have corrected that in the listing.

Everything I wanted and more...

This place was a gem. It was perfect for staying in Salem, or heading into Boston. The condo was completely public transportation accessible from the airport so I didn't need to rent a car. Tons of convenient things close to the condo--small supermarket, 24 hr. mini-mart, bars & restaurants, T-train to Boston, Dunkin Donuts all within 2 minute walk from the condo. Kitchen was fully equipped with any thing you would have at home, and the whole place was super clean. There was a good size flat screen TV with cable. The owner was really helpful in planning my trip and provided maps and Salem information before my travels and couldn't have been nicer. Was really accommodating and would definitely go back and stay there again. The photos are true to the condo, it's well maintained, building is clean, would highly recommend to anyone. As far as Salem "to do's" I recommend going to In A Pig's Eye restaurant, the Peabody-Essex Museum, the House of 7 Gables, The Grape Vine Restaurant. And I would also add that the pizza place and Chinese restaurants next door to the condo are good & fast food options.
