We just returned from staying is this VRBO rental. Of our many experiences with VRBO, this one was not as good as the rest. The location of the house was fine - close to metro, capitol, and eastern market. We felt the general condition of the home could have been better. The front porch lights did not work - made it dark at night. Several of the light fixtures were hanging from the ceiling i bedrooms. The second bedroom was very small. The toilet chain broke or came undone about 20 times during our stay. The cabinet door under the kitchen sink was not attached to the wall. The kitchen lacked real implements for cooking. Overall, the place just seemed to lack a high level maintenance and seemed to be a 'rental' with a rental feel. A good rental but far from the great experiences we have had in the past with other locations. Oh and the other thing, we arrived on a very cold night, the temperature in the house was 56 degrees - trying to figure out how to use the heaters was a challenge...thought the owner could have left a note or instruction sheet.

Our family of five stayed here for 6 nights and it was a perfect spot from which to enjoy DC. Boaz was very helpful and easily accessible. His suggestions for nearby restaurants were great, and it was an easy, well-lit walk to them. We were also within very close walking distance to a small grocery and to Starbucks. I enjoyed jogging just a few short blocks to the capitol and then around the National Mall and felt very safe in the neighborhood. We were also very close to the Capitol South metro stop which we used daily. The home was very clean, the beds comfortable, and when I asked for more towels they were there within an hour. Overall we had a great experience and would stay again and recommend it to others. Thank you, Boaz.

Our family of 4, myself, husband & 2 daughters, 17 & 19 stayed here for 5 nights in June. This is a great location, 2 blocks to metro, Bull Feathers Grill and Subway, and 3-4 to the Capitol and Library of Congress. Walked to Eastern Market, wish I would have done it earlier in the week to get fruit for the week, the little store 2 blocks down had terrible fruit, but was good to buy soda, bagels and snacks for the house. About a 3 block walk up to Pennsylvania Ave to Starbucks, We, the Pizza, Good Stuff Eatery, etc. The beds were comfortable. One daughter slept in the bed upstairs and one on the pull out downstairs, there is a feather bed in the closet to make it more comfortable. There was plenty of toilet paper and paper towels and the kitchen is well stocked with glasses, plates, etc. The bathroom was nice, great big shower! There was an iron and ironing board in the master bedroom, came in handy. We walked to Union Station, probably about a 15/20 minute walk. The photos are definitely right on. We thought the couch was comfy. When we got there the home was nice and clean. Boaz was very nice and easy to get in touch with. We would definitely consider staying here again or recommend it to friends or relatives. Loved DC!!! If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with me.

My fiance and I rented this home for two weeks in early January. We were in DC on business and looking for an alternative to the bleak hotel scene. The house was lovely -- we appreciated the fireplace, high quality linens, excellent kitchen facilities and comfortable furnishings. The location was ideal, two blocks east of the Capitol Hill South metro and about four blocks west of Eastern Market metro. Great restaurants, shops, parks, gym -- all within easy walking distance. The owner was flexible, accessible, and very helpful. Great VRBO experience.

My friend and I stayed here during our touristy trip to DC and we were both very pleased with the apartment. The floorplan was perfect, the beds and sitting area was very comfortable, very clean, well-supplied kitchen, and we loved the brief walk to the Metro station. It is also a nice walk to the Eastern Market, Folgers Theater, and a nearby store. Our only advice to others will be to ensure you have solid driving directions to the apartment for cab drivers. We had to get out the gps system on our phone a few times to guide them as the address seemed to be confusing to several. Oh and pick up your own paper products....paper towels & toilet paper supply was minimal unless we just couldn't find it.

This was a VRBO disappointment. There were stinkbugs and mosquitoes in the bedroom and kitchen. The house was dirty and dusty. All of the closets smelled of smoke. The remodeling work was of poor quality and finishing work remained to be done. Paint was peeling, fixtures were rusting, a switch panel turned hot whenever we turned the light on, and the toilet seat was too small for the large toilet. It takes a while to get hot water. All the IKEA furniture is poorly assembled. When we let the owner know that an inset light fixture was dangling from the ceiling over a bed, he said it wasn't a safety hazard. The second bed was bare and crammed into the room. The rental unit downstairs was also noisy and separated by a door that doesn't close all the way. This is an old building remodeled on the cheap with poor maintenance and housekeeping. It's located on the border of a sketchy neighborhood but was close to the Capitol South Metro Station. The grocery store the owner recommended was barred on the windows and doors and resembled a corner store out of East Central L.A. Next time, we'll stay in a nicer part of DC, such as northwest DC.

This is a wonderful home in a perfect location to explore Washington, D.C. The Metro (Blue Line - which is the line of the Smithsonian station) is just over a block away. The Capitol is within walking distance. Several nice restaurants are also within walking distance, and a nice park is across the street. The home is well equipped and very comfortable. Boaz was a great host, very responsive to our questions and the home was ready for our arrival. I would highly recommend staying at this home and we hope to return soon.

Talk about being away from home, you would love this place. Amazing, 2 parks across the road, lots of fun in the park. Parked our car on arrival, never moved it until check-up. Tuff to find a place like this one. We had our daughter and son-in-law, with us, we all had a grand time. I read in one of the reviews, "the only disappointment was could not stay any longer," I agree to that quote. Nice kitchen, dining area, living room all in one. Plenty of closet space, convenient to everything, and a SAFE Place to say. Everyone gave us scare tactics before we left for DC. That was all it was, we were out till 8:30 one evening. I have had more hello's and smile's than I have seen in years. Very nice place, we shall return. Thank you DC for a grand time. Donald and Joanne

Self-catering is usually our normal method of travel. An exception to this is Washington, D.C. where until recently there has been a void in a self-catering places in a good location and in our price range. So we were thrilled to find Boaz's wonderful row house in Capitol Hill. The neighborhood is delightful and safe. The property is across the street from Folger Park where neighbors play with their children and walk their dogs. The property itself is lovely inside and outside. There's a small well planted front yard with table and chairs. We sit out one evening with a glass of wine and neighbors stopped to chat. Inside is completely renovated in a modern motif that doesn't detract from the row house style. Everything was ready for us and the house was immaculate with lovely bed and bath linens........and a wonderful large walk-in shower with all the bells and whistles. And, the kitchen had every modern convenience enabling us to prepare gourmet meals with purchases from the local markets. Boaz was available by cell phone anytime we needed him. Another important feature for us is that the metro system was a block from the property. We could get anywhere we wanted quickly.....in fact, we just parked the car (a courteous parking pass was supplied by Boaz) and didn't move it again until we were ready to leave. So much was in walking distance.....great restaurants (Boaz gave us a nice list of local places), shopping and many of the best attractions like the Smithsonian and the Monuments...if you like a good healthy walk. The WWII Memorial is about 1 1/2 miles which was a great walk the evening we arrived after being in the car for 8 hours. But, again the metro can get you anywhere...even Arlington National Cemetery. Boaz, we look forward to staying with you again and we highly recommend your lovely property to others. Best wishes, Donna & Ray

We had a great 4-day visit and would highly recommend this property. It's centrally located within walking distance to the Capitol, the Library of Congress and 2 blocks from a metro stop. The owner has done a beautiful job renovating the house - it was a pleasure to visit, and we would definitely rent again when in the area.

We are VRBO old-timers and are delighted to know Boaz and to work with him in the VRBO community. Boaz is a terrific host and great to work with. The house has beautiful views of the park across the street and is very quiet. Comfy beds with all of the expected perks. A wonderful location - so convenient - and a lovely spot in which to entertain our family members who also were in town. Love the cosmopolitan feel of the house away from the tourists. Thank you, Boaz!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay near Capitol Hill. The apartment was perfect for us, with all the amenities. It is very tastefully decorated and equipped with the highest quality appliances. It was quiet, spacious and clean. Just a 2 minute walk from the metro station and 5 minutes from Capitol Hill, it is a perfect location for sightseeing. I highly recommend the apartment to visiting families.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The set-up was great for the six of us--three adults and three boys. In particular, we took full advantage of the kitchen for eating breakfast and preparing for the day in DC. The location is very convenient to Capitol, National Mall, and the metro is only two blocks away. A real bonus is that the owners are very conscientious and extremely helpful. Great place.

This was our first experience using VRBO and we were not disappointed. The modern house on Capitol Hill exceeded our expectations and was well suited for our family of four. It is a charming home in a historic neighborhood of brick lined sidewalks, close to neighborhood restaurants and grocery stores. We felt right at home during our first visit to Washington DC as a family. It was also very convenient to the metro and only a short walk to the Capital and Library of Congress sites. The interior of the house is open and light filled and includes all of the conveniences of modern living, providing a tasteful blend of old and new architecture. Boaz was a terrific and accommodating host, offering plenty of suggestions for places to eat and shop. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the neighborhood, and will be back.

This is a great house. It's very comfortable for a couple or a couple with a child; it's within easy walking distance of the Capitol; and it's close to restaurants and markets. There is a metro stop 2 minutes away. This is a very safe neighborhood with pleasant parks across the street. Finally, Boaz was a very accomodating and helpful host, and I will certainly stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in Washington and our accomodations were lovely. The house on Capitol Hill is extremely convenient, close to everything, a nice bakery and restaurants nearby. We were traveling with our children, ages 10 and 14, and appreciated having the extra room with the convenience of the kitchen and living room. I would highly recommend this as a rental property and would feel fortunate to be able to stay here again in the future.
