Focus on bald eagles, hummingbirds, loons, and jays. Turn over a beach stone, let the ocean life tickle your palms. Hike up, relax on the deck with a cool drink. Inhale the view, islands, lighthouses near and far, cruise ships dancing toward the Inside Passage and Alaska.
Fully furnished, three bedroom, private waterfront house for weekly vacation retreat, situated between Sargeant and Halfmoon Bays. Two hours from Vancouver, forty minutes of which is a pleasant ferry ride across Howe Sound. The main three-piece bathroom has a shower. The second washroom has a toilet and a basin.
Kitchen has everything including a corkscrew. Sleeps up to six people. Gas barbecue on large deck. Paved two car driveway. Path to a private beach through a park-like setting. The spacious, private deck with the view is exceptionally functional with the covered and well-lit area.
Alder and maple firewood is stacked next to a fabulous fireplace. Light the fire, have a crackling, cozy conversation. Reading in the old fashioned way is a unique experience in Barooga's natural, peaceful setting.

My family and I just returned from a fantastic week's vacation at Barooga. We couldn't imagine a better holiday, time and space for fun activities and quiet time. Barooga was everything we had hoped, and more. It was clean, quiet, spacious, and fully stocked with everything we could want. It had a huge lawn for games for the kids, large rooms, access to a private beach, a private hot tub, a large covered deck, and plenty of rainy-day activities just in case. The view from the main living area, the hot tub, and from the deck was unbelievable, nearly 180 degrees of ocean and sky. We ate outside every day to enjoy it. Barooga has a great location, close enough to the highway, restaurants of Sechelt, hiking, beaches, lakes etc., that we found lots to do, especially with Robyn and John's excellent advice for fun family activities, and is situated on a quiet road instead of the highway. Robyn and John were welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, but respectful of our privacy as well. They are perfect hosts/owners and maintain a fabulous property. We plan to visit again as soon as we can!!

Just had a week at barooga,unbelievable place with an amazing view,Robyn and John are the nicest people you could hope to meet and are a pleasure to deal with,we have had a brilliant time and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing time in an amazing place If you are considering the sunshine coast don't look any further

Barooga was Paradise!

Geoff and I stayed for 4 nights and found Barooga to be peaceful and just the kind of get away we needed. The place itself was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The Owners Robyn and John, have thought of everything! The hot tub was fantastic, with an amazing view of the ocean. The very large cedar deck had incredible views and was apparently a great place for a nap, in the hammock!! We were a short drive to many great adventures, hiking, shopping, restaurants. We even made it down to "Molly's Reach" twice for the best Carrot Cake in the world!! The beach on the property was very private and serene. It was perfect! We found Robyn and John to be awesome hosts! They even invited us into their own home and we had a very enjoyable visit with them. We would definitely recommend Barooga!

This was my second visit to Barooga and I was the first one to occupy the property after the refurbishment. And it was fabulous. The living quarters are large and cosy and the huge covered deck is the ideal place to have a meal outside, wheather permitting. Not forgetting the wonderful hot tub. The kids used this frequently the first time I visited. The owner had once again made sure nothing was lacking, they even supplied the toiletpaper! Of course one of the great delights is the view over the Georgia Straight. We saw lots of wildlife from the property such as Bald Eagles, Deer, etc. Robyn and John Yalkin themselves are so nice and helpful, you could not ask for more kindness. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone. There are plenty of activities, such as the Seychelt rapids, the beach at Half Moon Bay and the shopping at Seychelt is also great.
