This unique property is located on Harkers Island ; a community that maintains its downeast traditions. The House sits on the Straits side of the island with a beautiful sandy beach. The beach is very child friendly and perfect for enjoying the sunset in the evening or sunrise over Browns' Island in the morning before offshore fishing.
Harkers Island is the closest accommodation to Cape Look out National Seashore and the gateway to all it has to offer. The Cape offers a working lighthouse, swimming, shelling, fishing, boating and wildlife viewing. Wild horses inhabit Shackleford banks on the south west side and pristine beaches surround. The famous Shackleford ponies are descendents of Spanish horses stranded after a shipwreck 400 years ago. The famous pirate Blackbeard plied these waters and eventually met his demise North of the Cape. His lost his ship; the Queen Anne's Revenge is just off Beaufort inlet a few miles to the south.
Access to the cape is very easy if you do not have your own boat all the local marinas provides a USCG approved ferry service.
