I can't say enough about this Charming Mystic Home, they had everything you would ever want in a home. It was so clean and neat and just plain interesting, not boring at all. I could live there. Well taken care of right down to the bag of bird seed for the bird feeders, just loved it all. Thanks to the owners for making this a great experience for my four sisters and I.

mini vacation June 2011

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful cottage to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary for a mini week stay in June. The key pick up went very smooth and the house was very clean and welcoming. The parlor had a gift basket and anniversary card waiting. What a wonderful start to our vacation. Spent one of our days in Mystic Seaport the crowds were very light. Another day spent in Stonington village and was beautiful. Night trip to the casinos; very short scenic ride and even had some luck with the slots. Loved the sun room had coffee every morning watching the birds, checking emails and planning our day. Filled the bird feeder while there and enjoyed the birds. While sitting on the back patio you felt a bit like we were in our own remote spot. Many little often forgotten amenities were found left for us to use (tea bags, splenda ect). Would definitely recommend and return to this wonderful home. Thank you for sharing this wonderful retreat.

A hidden gem!

My husband, myself and our two children just got back from staying at this lovely home! We were in the area visiting family and needed a few days of peace and quiet. This family home was truly a joy to us. The house is hidden away from the tourist crowd of Mystic. We spent our days in Stonington for the most part and could get to either locale very quickly (under 5 minutes in either direction). The house itself was very comfortable and clean! The outdoor furniture allowed us to sit outside in the morning. The sun room off the kitchen was also very cozy. The home had great games for young and old! We also watched several videos in the evening in the living room. Each bed room had comfortable beds. It was nice to use the dresser drawers and hang clothes up in the closets. The owner Mary and her family thought of everything! Liz even brought us a bottle of Stonington white wine, which we enjoyed. Thank you for sharing your home. We really enjoyed reading the properties' history too. We hope to return again!

Peaceful and secluded

Three sixty-something friends spent three nights in June at this darling little house in the woods and we were completely happy with our choice. The house is immaculately clean, surprisingly roomy, and perfectly situated for an exploration of the Mystic/Stonington area. It was nice NOT to be in the midst of all the tourists at the end of the day, and we had a great time eating breakfast in the pretty sun room and having cocktails and grilled chicken out on the patio. The owners have taken such pains to make their tenants feel comfortable and welcome, and the many little thoughtful touches, from the welcome basket to the very informative guest book, added so much to the experience. We even took the driving tour Mary suggested on our one rainy day. We will definitely go back!

Wonderful Vacation Home!

We loved this charming home in a quiet neighborhood setting! Traveling with my mother and aunt, we enjoyed the opportunity to relax in a very peaceful, clean and comfortable environment and also have enough room to have our Connecticut children and grandchildren stop by for a visit. This home is close-by to everything you would want to see and do in the Mystic area, but nicely tucked away from the traffic and crowds. May was a bit cool and rainy this year, but on dry days the yard and patio make a great place to sit out and take in the air. The owners go out of their way to be sure your stay is very special. We were more than pleased with our choice and look forward to coming back!

Coast Guard Graduation Retreat!

This Mystic, CT gem was the perfect setting for our family to prepare and attend the many festivities at the Coast Guard Academy during the 2011 Graduation week. The house is located in a tranquil setting away from the town's noise and activity. The house is warm, cozy and super clean. The pictures say it all...it is truly a charming home with all the amenities included. I was pleasantly surprised by the kitchen since little was mentioned in the property description. It was not only spacious but well equipped for cooking meals if desired. The bedrooms are very comfortable with lovely linens and the bathrooms are clean,modern, and function well. This is a fantastic property and I would visit again without hesitation. The owners are very professional and pleasure to deal with.....Thank you Mary for a wonderful stay in Mystic!

My hopes for a perfect weekend getaway with my mother, sister and niece were realized as soon as we stepped into the kitchen at Calico Cottage! The floorplan was perfect for our foursome. Single level living space and 2 full baths made it all so convenient. The cottage was clean & bright and neat as a pin! We cooked. We ate. We read. We talked. AND we had a wonderful time walking Historic Mystic, taking in a wine tasting at Stonington Vineyards then, finishing off the weekend at the Dog Watch Restaurant in Stonington. We enjoyed a glass of wine while watching the sunset over Fischer Sound before losing our souls to the melt-in-your-mouth Bouillabaisse inside. Be sure to visit the Mystic Market East on Williams St. Unbelievable selection of gourmet-to-go items! We will definitely be returning to Mystic and sweet, little Calico Cottage! Thank you!

Thank you very much for letting us stay in this wonderful little house. It was perfect for us and we highly recommend it for families with young children. The attention to detail is above and beyond. There are many toys, books and DVDs to keep the children entertained if it is a cold day outside, and there are lots of places to visit in and around Mystic. Our five year old loved feeding the birds and watching them land on the feeder by the dining room. The two visits by deer in the backyard were an added treat. We recommend this house for anyone with young children who is looking for a get away that is nice and cosy/quiet, yet close enough to lots of attractions and amenities. Thanks again for helping to make our spring break a perfect family holiday.

We stayed at this lovely home for our family "ladies get-away". What a wonderful place to stay. Immaculate, well-equipped, and most of all "cozy". Just a short drive to Mystic attractions. The owners were terrific to deal with and really paid attention to details, especially with little notes throughout the house to help you find your way around. Nice touch with the books, DVDs, birdwatching guides, and welcome basket. The only difficult thing about staying here ----was leaving!

Cozy, clean, friendly, FABULOUS with all the amenities of home!!! Close to all Mystic attractions and then some. We had a great experience and Mary couldn't have been more pleasant to deal with. The finishing touch was the welcome basket waiting for us! Would definitely look to be a repeat customer next time we are in the area.

A great house at a great price. My party was 4 adults and 2 kids, we stayed comfortably in this little house. The 3rd bedroom had no door (just a curtain) so it was a little noisy but thats the only improvement I can suggest. There wasn't a draft in this house and the laundry and kitchen appliances were used often without issues. The kids videos, toys, games and books were a nice touch and kept our kids interested in learning something new (instead of growing tired of the ones we had brought). The location is great, near trails for running and the nature center, but also very close to downtown Mystic. In general it was great to stay at a charming home with some history in it (instead of staying at a new place devoid of character). Thanks very much. I wish you much success.

My family & friends stayed at this charming, really 3 bedroom cottage. I would describe it as a 1940's restored bungalow and charming doesn't begin to describe the amenities. A large roomy bathroom & a second showered bath were so wonderful that we never waited for our "turn". We were celebrating our son's wedding in Stonnington and were truly delighted with this value. We are planning to revisit Mystic and stay here again.

This is a great house to stay in! Mystic is a charming, centrally located town with very friendly people. The house is extremely clean & well taken care of. It is very close to everything in Mystic, but is in a slight wooded area. The owners are very concerned about making sure that your stay goes better than planned. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every one of them!

Charming, comfortable and conveniently located. We loved our stay in Mystic at this home with all of its conveniences. The large kitchen was was well equiped, the beds and linens were very nice, the dinning area a favorite of most everyone in our party, - a great place for morning coffee. The little things added to the stay from the notebook of favorite attractions to wireless with a printer that even had paper! One of the landlords lives next door and was able to help with additional requests. Although tucked out of the way, it was a great location close to all conveniences.
