Hobie's Hangout: Hobie Wilson's original cabin centrally located at the tip of Dowell's Peninsula on Mercer Lake.
This 3BR, 1 bath and hot outdoor shower is a wonderful retreat for a family getaway. You are sure to feel relaxed in our peaceful single level cabin on the lake with a natural sand beach. Kids big and small will enjoy wading or swimming. Rover and Fido are sure to love the warm summer water too (we've recorded 75 degrees in July!)
There is a large 40 foot dock to secure your boat or jet ski. After water sports, rinse off in the hot outdoor shower then fire up the gas grill and eat on the deck while watching the local osprey go fishing. Better yet, throw your own line in and catch some trout or bass.
After dinner go back down to the beach and start a bonfire in the fire ring and watch the sunset over the lake and plan your activities for tomorrow...

My family has been vacationing on Mercer Lake my entire life, however we've been forced to find a new vacation home as of about 4 years ago. This house was the last and final stop on our search as it is PERFECT. The house is adorably decorated, cozy, kid and pet friendly, and literally has everything you could imagine ever needing while on vacation. The beach area is one of the best we saw around the entire lake, and our young children loved playing in the sand. There also are cozy seating areas nestled in perfect spots all over the grounds so you're sure to have a sunny place to sit no matter what time of day it is. I can't think of a bad thing to say about Hobie's and our family cannot wait to return.
Recommended for:Pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

The bed in the master bedroom was super comfy with nice heavy linens. The view was beautiful and we saw tons of duck, geese with their babies and other woodland birds (even bald eagles!). My dog loved running from the front yard (highest level) to the back yard (middle level) and then down to the beach and out on to the dock while my husband fished. There is a tv in the futon bedroom and a large flat panel screen in the living room. The sound system was great we could turn it on while we were inside or out or both. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you would need. I always bring my own veggie steamer rack because vacation houses never have them---but they did! Seriously, they have thought of everything. The house is decorated very sweetly with little touches here and there and some very lovely pieces of antique furniture. The owners were very helpful and nice. Be warned, you won't want to leave :)
