Description is accurate.....when we rented, sleeping accommodations were for two (not four) which was fine since only my husband and I stayed there. The owner advised us that she had purchased a new sleeper sofa (or daybed?) which was going to be available for use very soon. Place was clean and as described. Parking available as stated. Owner easy to work with. I would rent again and recommend to others.

Owner response: Yes, the new Twin Daybed with Twin Trundle bed underneath should be up in the next day or so. Hurry to book, I have May 15, 16, 17 still available and that is it until June 10,11 & 12th. A few days left in July & Aug and that's it!

This beach cottage is just too cute, thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The linens were all so soft and snuggly, and the beach cruisers were perfect for a nice relaxing trip. I've been referring this location to all my friends and family, will definitely go back if I'm ever looking for a beach getaway.

Owner response: Yay! Another great review- I still have a few nights left in May and June but summer is almost totally booked! Act soon.

This cottage worked very well for us. I was able to park the car and do almost all of our activites from the cottage. Having bikes available was very handy, the nearby bike paths along the beaches were fun. We didn't use the boats but enjoyed walking along the canals, great for watching birds and looking at all the beautiful plants. One trip I would suggest is to visit the Getty Center, a gorgeous art museum about 20 minutes away.

We throughly enjoyed our stay in this adorable cottage in Venice Beach. Carol, the owner, met us to give us the key and to show us around....she was very hospitable and welcoming. This place is even cuter in person. It was clean, comfortable, and just perfect for a getaway vacation for my husband and me. Loved the fact that there was free laundry on the premises, and the two bikes were great to have! We throughly enjoyed walks on the canals behind the cottage....charming! Rode our bikes into Manhattan Beach one day, a nice 22 mile round trip. Took a short car ride to Balboa Island and Newport Beach. Had the best shrimp tacos at Gladestone's in Malibu. A great little wine bar called Bin 73 in Venice was a perfect find. Thank you, Carol for a wonderful stay! We would highly recommend this place....you won't be disappointed!

My sister & I decided to start spending an annual weekend together & your charming cottage caught our eye. It was everything we imagined. While the loveseat is a tad tired (both for sleeping & sitting), everything else was cute, charming, lovely, and well thought out. We cooked all our own meals in the well appointed kitchen, used the included w/d, as well as beach chairs for sunsets & enjoyed the bikes. Thank you for your attention to detail. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The cottage was exactly like the photos show, and we enjoyed our stay here. My sister and I spent 4 nights here on a "girls get away". The pull out couch, pulls out to cushions on the floor and is not the most comfortable, but the bed was fine. The kitchen had all the dishes/pots/cutlery needed to make meals, which saved us having to go searching for breakfasts in the morning. There is a little convenience store and cafe and restaurants nearby at the Venice Pier. The canals were low so we didn't try out the boats, but the bikes are not made for a long trek. We thought that the wifi was out but it was just unplugged. Staying here in the "winter" it was a bit damp in the cottage after showers with no fan, but I don't think this would be a problem most of the year and the heaters took the edge off the chill in the mornings. The cottage is on the road with access through the house's yard to the canals, and on the weekends it can be a bit noisy at night with cars coming and going, but that might not be a problem if you didn't want to go to bed at 10... The owner was easy to deal with and met me to show me around the property and explain where everything was located. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

Owner response: I have since had the bikes tuned. They are beach cruisers so they are intended for long cruises along the gorgeous bike path that runs all the way from Malibu to Redondo Beach! The canals vary with the tide- Sorry but you will have to talk to the moon about fixing that one : ) In 1983 the Canals were entered into the National Registry of Historic Places, they are unique & fabulous, but twice a day they are low just like any waterway. I am looking into getting a different fold out couch and a fan for the bathroom. Hope this helps to clarify for future renters

The "cottage" was cute, well decorated and included the little things which made staying more pleasurable such as a couple packs of coffee/coffee maker, a microwave, Internet access, a parking spot and a nice TV. Venice beach was a quick jog away, allowing some great runs up and down the beach. As our stay was during the winter months, the canal was low in depth. The bed is a double thus a little cramped.Didn't have a chance to use the bikes available to renters. The location, size and shape of the cottage made it seem like it might have been from a converted double length garage.(long, relatively narrow) During our stay, the weather was quite cool. The cottage provided a couple of heaters(one inferred, one ceramic). These heaters somewhat helped keep the cottage warmer, but just barely. The washroom door was slatted type. Without an exhaust fan for venting in the unit, a door with slats in a small apt is not desirable. I would think our stay at this cottage would have been more enjoyable if the weather was warmer. Though I never had the opportunity to meet the owner, her email mannerism was friendly.

Only had the privilege of staying at this lovely cottage for 2 nights. Could have spent many more nights and days here if given the opportunity. Will most definitely return. As a walker, I found the location of the cottage to be most interesting. Behind the cottage are the canals with walkways. What a peaceful way to get exercise and so much for your eyes to take in. Carol, thanks for making it easy to expedite the rental agreement. It was a pleasure renting from you and hope to visit again soon. Ellen

The cottage was all it was described to be and more! I had a wonderful stay and hope to stay again the next time I visit my daughter and granddaughter in Venice! Carol was gracious and welcoming; the cottage was impeccably clean and well-outfitted. The place was a great value for the money considering its location from the beach. I look forward to my next stay!

The location of this cottage is perfect, you can pack a lunch and ride our 2 beach cruisers along the Famous Bike path that goes from Malibu to Redondo Beach. You can grab the beach chairs and towels that we provide and hit the beach; right where they filmed the world famous hit TV series "Bay Watch". You can even get rescued by a real life Venice Life Guard! You can souvenir shop along the boardwalk or hit any number of cafes or restaurants along the beach. Fishing at Venice Pier could be fun and so is watching the body builders as well as some pretty far out street acts near world famous "Muscle Beach""

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2007

About the owner: I live in the neighborhood and own a few other rental properties in Venice. I bought this classic Beach Bungalow in Venice and remodeled it from top to bottom, filled it with designer furnishings and had no vacancies! I tried to produce a space that people would feel happy in. Everything is new, clean, light and bright with a beachy vibe and cheerful feeling.

Why the Owner Chose Venice Beach:
Venice is an incredible California experience and the Venice Canals are the best Venice has to offer. You are one block from the beach and the Venice Boardwalk; walking distance to the Venice Pier and fabulous restaurants and boutiques in Venice and Marina Del Rey. This particular property is surrounded by multi-million dollar homes so that gives you a feeling of both security and pride of ownership in the neighborhood.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
2 Bikes + Canoe and Kayak. You can walk along the Venice Canals and go to breakfast at Joni's Coffee Roasters or Noah's Bagels or stop in at the corner Starbucks. It's a healthy lifestyle where you'll be encouraged to walk or bike wherever you go. Sunbathing, Sailing, Biking, roller-blading, surfing, gallery hoping, shopping, celebrity watching, you name it, we've got it here in Venice. Public transportation is just 1/2 block away. The Friday morning Farmer's market, the boat parades....it's an enviable lifestyle. Check out the sunset every evening at the pier then go to the Baja Cantina for your after sunset margaritas- or Coldstones for ice cream, then walk home!! Or go to the 3rd street Promenade in Santa Monica for movies, restaurants, and some of the best shopping in LA.
