Gorgeous Property on Fairview Lake, Poconos, Pennsylvannia

Beautiful home nestled in the woods on the shores of Fairview Lake. We have 300 feet of shore line and one and half acres of property covered in mountain laurel, rhodedenderon, and wild blueberries. Our home is oriented toward the west and captures sunsets over the lake.
Our three level home features interior beams, stairs, and loft railings made of logs cleared from the property. These with pine paneling, wide plank yellow pine flooring, and white walls give a warm and airy feel. The living room on the main floor features a cathedral ceiling, with huge windows overlooking the lake and a fireplace with raised hearth. The elevated deck also overlooks the lake, as does the screened-in porch, equipped for family gatherings with its 12 foot picnic table. Another feature of the house is the screened in porch at the other end of the house --- a great place for a quiet read. Recreation room downstairs, with TV and games. On the top floor more bedrooms, the master suite with whirlpool tub.
A woodsy path takes you down to our large dock, a great spot for sunning, swimming, stargazing. Canoe, kayaks and a row boat await you. Since we are on the quiet side of the point, in a no wake zone, it's a good spot for watching wildlife and fishing.
A short walk brings you to a park with tennis courts, basketball and handball courts, an athletic field, and a playground with covered picnic area. Just a few steps further down Gumbletown Road is Coutt's Blueberry farm, U-pick heaven (and ice cream rewards in the gift shop!) 15 min drive takes you to Hawley for antiquing, farmer's market, spa and fine dining (the Settler's Inn is our favorite). Great golf courses all 30-45 minutes away. In winter, we are only 45 minutes from the best skiing in the Poconos, and Tanglewood, for beginners, is just 5 minutes away.

If you ever wondered what one of those real nice lake houses was like, look no further. From the secluded location and the well thought out design this house has it all covered. All the rooms in the house are spacious and nicely decorated. The main deck overlooking the water was a perfect spot to relax with plenty of chairs. The dock at the lake's edge was large and accommodated everyone. Being that this house is in the no wake zone provided a great place to use the provided canoe, kayaks, and row boat. We are already talking about going back. The only thing bad I can say about this house is that the pictures do not do it justice.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had a delightful time at the lake; the house is beautiful, well laid out, and well-equipped. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck, dining on the screen porch, kayaking on the lake, and doing jigsaw puzzles by the fireplace! The kitchen was great for preparing meals for our large group. There were plenty of comfortable places for an afternoon nap. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.Did you find this review helpful? Wonderful! Magnificent! Spectacular! My family and I could not have had a better time. The view is calming, the deck is large, the boats are seaworthy! The pictures for this house are an understatement and do not do justice to the property. We have many homes and this one is by far our favorite so far. The Simons are friendly and helpful and their liaison is happy to answer any questions and offer friendly advice should you require any (to include directions). Our time there was as close to perfection as you can get. Book NOW, you won't regret it!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.
Owner response: WE are so glad that your time at the lake was great and that you feel as we do about our beloved lake house! Time to get some new photos pehaps...

The "Blueberry Lakehouse" is special. The moment that you arrive, the home and the lake enchant. Every detail is taken care of by the generous hosts and one couldn't ask for more amenities. The house is spacious and promotes relaxation in all of its well designed spaces. Rain or shine (shine is better), the house itself provides many outlets for relaxation, play and just hanging out. The dock and lake were the place to be during the beautiful weather that we experienced throughout. Being in the no-wake zone was delightful and most all of us enjoyed being in some type of water craft. We even tried our hand at fishing. Swimming in lake water is so very refreshing. Sunsets, wildlife, family dinners, campfires. The Blueberry Lakehouse provided many lovely memories in a fantastic setting for our 90 year old matriarch and her family. Thanks so much.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Owner info
About the owner: This home is owned by two families, and rented by the Simonses. We each have a batch of kids, and love the lake, its wildlife, and bringing our relatives and friends up to share it with us.
Why the Owner Chose Fairview Lake:
We chose this piece of land because we fell in love with it. My husband grew up going to Lake Wallwenpaupack, and I grew up going to a small lake in northern Wisconisin that was owned by my grandmother. We loved that it is ringed by wild blueberries -- our family calls it "Blueberry Lake".
We built the house with another family, business partners of my husband's, and have truly enjoyed the benefits of sharing the property. We never know what the other family may have left for us to find (decoration? furniture?) and we share the workload of owning a second home which is considerable.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to feel the way the stress just falls off our shoulders when we arrive! We love the sounds of wind in the pines, the feel of the water, the way the house captures light and looks out over the lakes. In August, Wystan loves to make bluberry jam every year that we eat all winter long. Wystan and Edward often celebrate their wedding anniversary with dinner at The Settler's Inn, in Hawley, which is their favorite restaurant --anywhere.
