This Historic Salt Box Home was built in 1886 and has been added onto over the last 125 years. It was turned into separate apartments 75 years ago and has it's own wonderful charm, unmatched by others. Our top floor apartment, The Yacht Apartment is simply breath taking in views from every room, to it's cozy decor and top notch amenities.

Outside spiral stairs take you to your own large deck above the dunes with full length glass walls. Views are unmatched from all rooms except bathroom. Both bedrooms are fully furnished with decorator taste and bathroom connects to both bedrooms. Great room effect with designated kitchen and dining area tastefully detailed. Elegant touches of old world character, tranquil breezes, sun and surf await you in this one of a kind experience.

Year Purchased: 1967
My family has owned this historic home on the ocean for forty years. We have put our blood, sweat and tears into the property to make it into our getaway dream come true.
I am a retired antique dealer and interior decorator. The apartment is always changing with my obsession for perfection. My husband is an insurance broker that puts up with my ever changing moods but our guests, especially our repeats, love it at any stage I'm in. Both of us love to share our pride and joy of high style and luxury with ours guests and are still always fascinated by one of natures greatest gifts,the ocean, always in view.
My husband and I plan to retire here on the sand someday but, for now, we want to share it with you and yours.

A wonderful time set off by this charming site. The apartment was clean, interesting, well-stocked with necessary things (even bikes and floats!). The owner was personable, understanding, non-intrusive but available. And the view was spectacular! Couldn't be better!

If you are looking for a quiet getaway, whether alone or with a small number of friends or family, this is the place to go. From the first step through the door, you just know this is going to be a great beach trip. The furnishings are absolutely charming, and all the comforts of home are right at your fingertips. The owners have created a perfect vacation environment that you would like to have for your very own. Excellent restaurants are within walking distance or a short drive, and the beach is beautiful! Even saw dolphins swimming by early one morning as we sat on the balcony deck drinking coffee. No need to bring beach gear -- boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, even bicycles are all right there and available for use. Don't be surprised by the oh-so-friendly calico cat that greets you looking for treats or just a bit of affection :-) We are already looking ahead to next summer and planning our next trip.

We have just gotten home from our second stay in this amazing apartment!! There is absolutely nothing we would change except to be able to go back more often. If you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable, inviting, location with the most amazing location and views you cannot go wrong. We were able to bike every morning and go for long runs on the beach in the afternoon. Great location close to wonderful restaurants and other points of interest, but we never wanted to get in the car to go anywhere. We have stayed in many properties both in the US and in Europe offered by VRBO and this one is one of the best. We are already getting ready to book our next visit!

No words describe the view from this rental property. There is an unobstructed view of the ocean from every angle and you can hear it from every room. The unit is stocked with every culinary and housekeeping necessity which only enhances the beautiful decor. The owner is a wonderfully attentive and thoughtful land lord who even had frozen martini glasses in the refrigerator for our arrival. There is no question that this unit is our retreat of choice.

My wife and I just returned from a week in Jacksonville's Neptune Beach. We had used VRBO in the past and found a great place on the Big Island of hawaii so we decided to check out the alturnatives in Jax Beach rather than the same old Hotels and Motels. What a great decision. For the same price as a local Motel you get so much more. This property is maintained in excellent condition, the amenities are tops and the location can't be beat. The house is divided into 4 separate apartments and even though two of them are occupied full time and the unit downstairs from us had vacationers renting we never heard any noise or were disturbed in any way. We did hear a small dog bark a few times outside and once or twice the sounds of a local Saturday night party drifted in but that;s it. The Apt is set up for maximum ocean views with the whole front taken up by windows. There is a step up from the front sitting/dining area into the main living space and then both bedrooms face out to those rooms and to the ocean. We could lay in bed and see the sea, with the beautiful sunrise shining right into our space. both bedrooms share a centereed "Jack and Jill" bath,. The liniens and towels are top quality and plentiful. A few nights we had adults staying in the apt and never felt crowded. Oh yes, there are plenty of beach towels as well. Other amenities include a cute kitchen with all the utensils and cook ware you need, (but note that the coffee maker is an electric perk type); bikes; beach chairs; boogie boards; gas BBQ; outdoor patio and raised deck with chairs and tables. Neptune Beach town center is just 7 blocks north with good eats, boutique shopping and some diversified night life. The beach is great for long walks, shell collecting and shallow water activities. the only down side might be the military air traffic and the over abundance of ants in the loose sand - it's best to go to the beach during low or mid tide and stay on the hard packed sand.
