Ready for a get-away? Love to relax? Love water-sports? Love to fish? Love campfires? Love warm summer days and cool nights? ESCAPE to our cozy cabin nestled in the Flambeau River State Forest, on one of the clearest, most secluded lakes in the region.
Our lakeside cabin is located on the west shore of Connor’s Lake. The A-Frame style cabin sits on top of a beautiful lot just 75 feet from the water - an easy walk to and from the lake for all ages. Enjoy your morning coffee, evening cocktail or family dinner on the large deck that overlooks the calm, glass-like water. The beautiful staircase takes you to two large docks, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, relaxing, fishing or docking your boat.
There are endless options for daily activities.
FISHING
The area is well-known for bass, walleye, pan fish and muskie fishing. Find the best fishing holes on Connor’s or explore one of the surrounding lakes within 2-10 miles of our lake. If you’re looking for a full day of fishing, you may enjoy hiring a professional fishing guide from the Flambeau Forest Inn (located just one mile down the road) or floating or walking the Flambeau River (closest drop-in point, one mile away). Row boat and canoe included.
WATER SPORTS/ACTIVITIES
Connor’s Lake is so secluded, that it is rare you have to share the lake with more than 3 or 4 boats. This makes it perfect for a leisurely boat cruise, a fun jet-ski ride or a wild time tubing, wake-boarding or water-skiing. The shoreline allows for small kids to wade in the water and deepens enough to take a dive from the end of the piers. If you have kids, they may enjoy swimming near the dock, playing on the “Saturn” (see image), taking the paddle boat for a fun ride, or going to the lake beach and park where you can enjoy a sand volley-ball court and plenty of open area for a big picnic. If you want to get off the lake for a day, the Flambeau River offers fun cliff-jumping, canoe trips, biking and hiking.
FOUR-WHEELING
If you want to bring 4-wheelers, there are great trail heads to begin your ride about a mile and a half down the road.
When you’re ready to retire from the lake for the day, enjoy the open-style, tiled kitchen and hardwood floor family room with your friends and family. The family room includes a large, leather sectional couch and a 25” TV with Satellite cable. The kitchen includes a gas stove and oven, microwave, dish washer and all other essentials for preparing a great meal. If you want to take a break from cooking, enjoy the great restaurants all located within 2 miles of the cabin. The Flambeau Forest Inn provides the ultimate Northwoods experience with a great bar, great dinner specials and the best steak sandwich you’ll ever have. The Cabin, half mile down the road, offers a more formal dining experience with a great menu and stunning atmosphere. Finally, drop by Big Bear Lodge for a delicious ice cream, grasshopper dessert.
End your nights looking at the unbelievable Northwoods stars or around the campfire. The fire pit is located just below the deck, over-looking the lake and is surrounded by a swinging bench and log stools for plenty of seating. Kids and adults will also love the rope swing that sways over the hill for a fun ride!
