  All I can say is wow. My family and I loved this place. If you're looking to stay in the middle of party central, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a beautiful, relaxing, family friendly place, definitly stay at this condo. From the moment of our arrival Marciel ( the bell captain )made us feel like VIP's. Anything we needed during our stay , we just asked and he took care of. The whole staff at Fishermens is very friendly and accomadating. The condo itself was very nice. It has a small but adequate kitchen that we used for breakfast and lunch on several occasions. The views from the balconies are amazing. We have vacationed in Playa every year since we fell in love with it 12 years ago. We used to stay in all inclusive hotels. But never again. We plan on staying in this condo every year. Thanks Candice, Marciel and everyone at Fishermans for making this our best vacation ever.

  DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!!!!! Family and I rented the condo and if I could tell you the service we got, was really really bad. Got to or room the 1st. day and the room was not even clean, we were there for a hole week and the room was only clean 3-times, water leak from restroom to restroom when taking a shower within the same room, a/c did not work, place looks like it needs to be updated AND!!!! To top it off we where there for a whole week we needed to get or own 5 gallon water 4 times from the main desk in the lobby to me this does not seen right. Please don’t get me wrong the pool and ocean were great it's just condo part was real disappointing. Martin from West Covina Ca….

  Owner response: I would just like to say that there was a miscommunication and the condo was not clean when this family arrived. This much is true, misspellings aside. They called when they arrived and we had the condo cleaned. We found that the previous occupants had set the AC to heat and the upstairs was warm, but all three AC units are less than six months old and cool the condo down to a very chillie temp. even on the hottest days. Getting the condo cleaned three times for no extra charge was actually going above and beyond by the staff, as we never advertise or tell anyone that daily cleaning is included. It is a condo, not a hotel. If you need water or anything else serviced all you need to do is call downstairs. Even if you need five gallons of bottled water per day, it is included. By the way, the tap water is purified. Please read all the positive reviews and take this one for what it is worth. Plus , please see the pictures. Our condo is very modern with flat screen Tvs in every room, and over 500 DVDs in case of rain, modern furnishings and incredible ocean views.

  After traveling to the Playa Del Carmen area for nearly ten years, staying at this condo in Fishermans Village is by far our best experience yet. To start, the balconies face the ocean. The views are amazing. The photos on this website (which are good photos) do not do the views justice. From our master suite, we watched the sunrise while listening to the ocean and feeling the ocean breeze. This sounds like a travel brochure but it is exactly how it is! My husband and I were blown away that first morning. We thoroughly enjoyed the balconies - nightime was equally amazing with the stars in the sky and the lights from Cozumel. The condo is very nice with extra perks like flat screen tv's in each bedroom plus hundreds of DVD movies . . . the boys watched many! The kitchen is very adequate - our teenage sons made use of the oven often to cook their frozen pizzas (trip to walmart - frozen pizza, fruit, milk,soda,etc.). Having food essentials on hand was so convenient for us as they could immediately make themselves a snack. The resort itself is wonderful. The staff are accomodating and professional. Lobby, restaurant, pool area and beach are all top notch. Although we went to town every night for dinner, we did eat breakfast and lunch at the resort and the food was good. Fantastic out of this world food? No. But it was good. Wait staff was very accomodating. We had no issues with cabs as mentioned in another review. Typically, we would walk to town (15 minutes) and cab it back. If you want a lot of action (music, bar scene, etc.) this is not the place to stay. If you want 100% relaxation, amazing ocean views, and to be steps away from the most beautiful water in the world, this is it. We talk and reminisce about our trip often. We will, without a doubt, return to this condo at Fisherman's Village. Thank you Candice for all your help. You were always available to talk with and we just want you to know it was a pleasure working with you. We will definitely return.

  Husband, adult daughter, and I found this unit to be comfortable 2 level (has small 3rd & 4th floor balconies) condo with just the right amenities. Nothing fancy, but very nice and time goes by so quickly! We wish we had rented a car because taxis apparently don't like to drive back to Fisherman, which is on the back side of Playa Car, a gated, residential community. They took up to an hour to respond when called - even with the excellent staff trying to get their attention. It's ~ a mile walk thru Playa Car to the security gate/main drag. Sunset Fisherman Village has a delightful activities director with scheduled Zoomba, water aerobics, beach volley ball, yoga, tequila tasting, wind surfing lessons, kayaks, 2 Hobie cats, card games, books, ceramics painting.... ask and they'll try to make it happen for any age grp. The concierge service is very helpful with access to tour and restaurant reservations. Housekeeping services are extra in privately owned units such as this - and maids only skim the surface. Beds are hard. Huge walkin shower in upstairs master. Be prepared to stake your claim early in the day to desired beach furniture. The cushioned canopied beds/chaise/round beds and 3 piece sofa arrangements make for wonderful socializing - it's VERY nice for or. They allow patrons from Tres Rios, another Sunset resort down the beach that hasn't refurbished their beach area, to use Fisherman beach area & furniture - so people throw down towels in the early a.m. to "reserve" them, but may not actually start using the furniture until noon. Amazing that this practice is grudgingly respected by all, and we didn't see anyone move someone else's towels. Stairs to this unit are accessed through the lobby so you have to drag your sandy self by people dressed to go out for the evening to get to the room from the beach. The only wi-fi is available in the lobby (there is no computer in the room) but we found a table/chairs above the lobby on the 2nd floor out of the public eye, so we didn't have to go all the way downstairs to use laptop. There is no table for eating on either balcony. It was nice not to have to pay for all inclusive, and there are some wonderful restaurants in Playa del Carmen. Staff bring big water containers to the room immediately upon request. 2 weeks was perfect amount of time. We were at Fisherman last year in a different 1 level unit last year, and liked this unit/location better. We'd go again in a heartbeat!

  Owner response: love the feedback about tables on the balcony. My husband is going down this spring and will purchase tables. we always use the balcony wall but this will change. sorry about the cabs, we haven't had this problem.

  My family and I rented this condo for our first trip to Mexico. The condo was sparkling clean, comfortable and we loved waking up to the most beautiful view of the ocean each morning. We ate out quite a bit (because that's what we do) but the kitchen was fully equipped and user-friendly. The condo had plenty of room, very comfortable beds, had privacy for older kids and was beautifully furnished. The balconies on each level provided perfect, private views of the pool and the ocean. EVERYONE at the resort was fabulous, accommodating and kind, especially since we didn't speak much Spanish. We all had massages at the spa and Diana and Marcial were especially helpful to us as we tried to navigate the tours and the taxis. We will DEFINITELY make this a yearly trip!

  I stayed here for a girls week and and a wonderful time. The condo itself was very nice! We enjoyed having the full kitchen with all the supplies we needed. The view from both balconys is wonderful and breath taking. The staff there were helpful and helped us with whatever we needed, we just asked! I will go again next year hopefully!

  Stayed here for a "Girls" week and had a blast. The rental was fabulous, clean and the view was fantastic. We cooked in and ate in the local restaurants and both were fun to do. I had the first massage of my life at the spa and it was the most wonderful thing I have ever done! Everyone was friendly, the beach was kept immaculate and we will all definately be back again next year!

  We decided to rent a condo this vacation instead of staying at a hotel. We were a little apprehensive at first, being that we have children under 10 and normally the kids club at the hotel takes some of the load off on vacation. We picked this location because it had a kids club on site. Boy were we happy. They did a great job with the kids with activities all day long right on the beach. Our oldest loved the kayaks, our youngest the water sports in the pool. It was a big risk for us, being our Christmas vacation, but worked out great. Will definitely go back again.

  We stayed here in Feb over spring break with our kids and loved the place!!!! So much better than a hotel room, the place was fantastic. We really loved the movies that the owners have left, there must be 200 DVD's that kept the kids busy on the 2 days where it rained! This condo project is really great because they have hotel services as well. We had a full kitchen and went shopping the first day, but when we didn't feel like cooking we would just call room service and they brought up food, really convienent. We have been to Playa many times but this was our first time at a condo. We are going to make this a yearly trip!! Here is a tip, when you get to the condo look for Marcial, he is one of the bell boys. We gave him a tip on the first day and he treated us like royalty the entire week, anything we needed we just asked him!

  I just recently stayed at the property at Sunset Fishermans in March. I have been there before as guests of owners. What a difference! When you are renting property from a private owner, boy do they treat you different. We were lucky to even get a key to the place. The staff does not give you any information about what they have to offer. They do not tell you about the meal plan, eating areas, spa, workout room, you get the picture. We almost felt like an inconvience to them. I was VERY disappointed to say the least. The condo itself needed some TLC. The safe in the room did not work, the beds are rock hard, it said it sleeps 8 and the kids had to cover up with towels the first night because the manager of the private owned condos was not in. There was mold on the patio and curtains, the bathroom down stairs leaks every time you flush, the lighting was not working in the downstairs bathroom. We had no bulbs in the lamps. We had no idea how to get more blankets for the kids, (the next day someone with a key, let us take 3 blankets out of the locked closet in the quest room, nothing more) The container for the fresh water did not have a spout that worked. It took 2 people to try and get water out of the jug, the window in the downstairs bedroom was broken so anyone could get in and remember, we have no working safe. We had to make shift a way to block the window, because again, it is not Fishermans Problem! The kitchen sink leaked so bad that we had a bath towel down every time we filled the sink. Fun! Looking at the positives, we met our family there that were owners of 2 weeks and we had a great time with them, the beach was wonderful, the view was great, the owners of the condo sounded very nice on the phone, the TV's were nicehowever, I don't know if they realize how much maintenance needs to be done.
