Great house in a beautiful location. Good choice for a quiet getaway. Kitchen and living space are well suited for stocking up and staying in.

We stayed for a week in July and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We easily found the house and fell in love with the view. Our boys enjoyed exploring the rocks each day and there was plenty to do in the surrounding area. We bought some crab for dinner just down the road and had a feast. The house itself had plenty of room for us and was clean. You may want to bring an extra reading lamp with you if you like to curl up with a book as some of the rooms do not seem to have enough lighting. The kitchen was a great space to enjoy a home cooked meal and socialize around the large island. We loved the otters that came right up to the shore in front of the house and peaked in the window. The boys enjoyed roasting gigantic marshmallows we bought in Coombs, around the fire pit. The island is filled with markets featuring talented artisans. We also enjoyed watching some of the sand castle competition nearby in Parksville. All in all we had a great time and hope to stay again at the Reef Beach House.

Our family has stayed at Reef Beach House on 4 occasions and will undoubtedly go back for more visits. The views from the house are absolutely superb at any time of the day or night. (Our favourite time is when having tea on the deck very early in the morning when the ocean and sky are brightly coloured by the rising sun.) The area is about as peaceful as you can get with only the sound of the normally gentle ocean in the background. The location of the house makes it very easy to visit many of the main tourist areas on the island. For example, we found it easy to do day trips as far away as Comox, Victoria and Port Alberni and it is a very short drive to Parksville for supplies or to spend a day on the beach. However, on our most recent visit we hardly ventured out as we enjoyed staying at the house which is simply an all round great place to relax. We rented some kayaks and enjoyed exploring the two bays which are very close to the house, the children enjoyed the small south facing beach which is only 500 metres from the house, we spent hours beach combing along the rocky shoreline and rode our bikes all over the surrounding area. Most of all though we enjoyed simply siiting on the deck or in the kitchen and living room and enjoying the spectacular views.

We had a great time at the Reef Beach House -- just sitting on the back patio and watching the Eagles swoop down and grab fish and the amazing sunrises and sunsets! The kitchen is to die for--we love to cook and the whole gang had a great time in this large and very well equipt. Kitchen! Very relaxing place and it is very close to lots of place including Victoria which is only a few miles down the road. -- You will love the Reef Beach House!

The house was in a perfect location and the photos are an exact representation of the property. I was concerned about having an attached cottage to the house, but we didn't even notice that there were people there - they had their space and we had ours. The view was stunning and the little beach just up the road is perfect on a hot day when you just can't be anywhere but in the water. We were short a few drinking glasses, but Rhonda took care of that through the property manager. All in all a great house.

I highly recommend the Reef Beach House to everyone! Located right on the water, it offers stunning views and amazing wildlife all around. The house itself it beautiful with all wood interior and was very comfortable. There is also nothing that compares to going to bed at night and then waking up in the morning with the sound of the ocean right out your bedroom window! I think our only complaint was that we didn't have enough time to just sit around the house to enjoy the spectacular views overlooking the Straight of Georgia! We will definitely be going back here!

We spent Christmas here and it was a wonderful experience. The house was as descirbed only better. The rooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked both with dishes and cookware and utensils but also with spices. It accomadated 3 couples easily with room to spare. The view was magnificent and the eagles that lived nearby were always flying by as well as the seals perfroming for us. I would highly recommend this property. The tubing on Mt. Washington was great fun and very reasonably priced.

We really enjoyed our stay at Reef Beach House. The clean uncluttered interior was perfect. The deck offered spectacular views of the straight and mainland and the courtyard was a nice shelter on the one cold breezy day of our stay. The owner was prompt in responding to our queries and helpful with the planning of our stay. It's a great house for one or two families.

July 2009 It was a real pleasure staying at the Reef Beach House. It certainly exceeded our expectations... lots of room and a very spacious working kitchen. Relaxing on the back deck was a highlight! Thank you.

We've had a wonderful time; thanks for allowing us to visit your home. Bought fish at the french street marina... i've shopped for fish all over the globe... have found a new fav. We watched an otter play and dine for an hour last night on the beach here... kayaked in the bay today to visit seals and sea lions. We've tried to treat this home as if it were ours (if i had a spare million and the commute was a wee bit friendlier maybe...)... lived mostly in the kitchen (as a food guy two thumbs up... really well appointed!!!). A wonderful end to our time on Vancouver Island... Kate Wendy and I thank you for the chance to stay here.

We stayed here with another couple from Boxing Day to New Years Day both in 2007 & 2008. After our first stay, we had no doubt that we would be returning. This is a beautifully renovated home with a cozy contemporary feel and very well-appointed with all the necessary amenties. The location is quiet and has spectacular ocean views. It was nice to be able to pick fresh oysters from the backyard and just a short drive to the pier for more fresh seafood that we cooked up in the gourmet kitchen. We definitely didn't utilize all the extra space in this house, but definitely recommend it for large families. Thanks for sharing your home with us and we look forward to coming back...maybe in the summer time when we can make use of the expansive deck!
