This home is marvelous and you should have no reservations about staying there. The photos are truly representative of the property ... what you see is what you get. You will find a well-equipped, modern kitchen, cable TV, high-speed Internet, comfortable beds and more. A truly nice place to stay. Some old friends and I stayed there for a week and had a great time in this beautiful old community. Walk two blocks and you are in the area where you begin to find shops and the activities of the area. You can walk to enjoy most anything or take an inexpensive tuc-tuc or taxi. You’ll find many great restaurants, reasonable prices and the food is excellent. The owners of this property and the local manager treat you like royalty. I highly recommend this clean, well-maintained, beautiful home ... and the price is right. Enjoy!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The house was exactly what we needed for our stay. Comfortably handled 6 people for the week stay. The property was as described in words and photos and very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay at this property again. The owners were very good to work with and communication was very good. The views from the terrace were spectacular. It was very easy to get to everything in Antigua from this location. Always felt safe on the property and in the neighborhood.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Perfect charming house that has a well stocked kitchen. Great location with high security entrance gate. We always felt safe! The house was a delight to stay in. Would definitely stay again. I especially liked the inside/outside courtyard! We have been to Antigua 20+ times in the last 12 years. A few years ago we discovered this small gated community where this house is located and have stayed here every year since. It is well located, super secure and the homes are all very nice. This home worked out great and had all of the things you would want - Wi Fi, cable, comfortable beds, all the things to cook, etc...We were a total of 6, my parents, my wife and our 2 young girls. Everything is in walking distance - the market, the park, etc...The owner and the local manager were great to work with. We would definately stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed our home.

Our week at this house was very enjoyable. The house is in excellent proximity to restaurants, shops, sights and the super mercado. The furniture is all comfortable and the rooms are large. The washer and dryer are in a separate room. The kitchen seemed well equipped, though we didn't make any meals at the house (there are too many wonderful restaurants in Antigua!). The property manager was responsive and her office is right around the corner. The maid is thorough and pleasant. The house is in a gated community; the 'gate keepers' are also friendly and helpful. The views from the mirador are amazing; it was fascinating to watch El Fuego, the active volcano, puff from time to time!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The home was lovely, well maintained, well located, and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, the views are spectacular, and we enjoyed watching football games on the wide screen TV. The Caves are great hosts (they had a bottle of wine awaiting us on our arrival). We had a very enjoyable week in Antigua and hope to return soon.Did you find this review helpful? To start with I want to say thank you to The Cave's for being so easy to work with, and quick to respond. Your home in Antigua made us feel like we had taken our home with us. Located only 2 blocks from the central market, and walking distance to all of Antigua, making it the perfect location. There is no need to have a car, taxi's are everywhere, as well as inexpensive Tut Tut's. The home is colonial style, with 24 hour security (we never felt unsafe), amazing views, fully stocked kitchen, cable, internet, laundry, and almost anything else you can think of. After a long day walking around, it was nice to come "home", have a cup of coffee in the courtyard, and just relax. No noise, or other guest to contend with. This is the only way to travel, and this home is a MUST! Thanks again, Dennis, Gaynell, and Marta Atenas, Costa RicaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/3

This is a beautiful home, filled with light from wonderful cupolas, and very comfortable. The views of the volcanoes from the second floor porch are breathtaking, the kitchen is well equipped and great to cook in, and everything is comfortable and homey. It's walking distance to everything, as well. We spent a great week here.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/5

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: We are a retired couple from Minnesota.
Why the Owner Chose Antigua:
We chose to buy our winter home(winter in Minnesota)in Antigua because of the perfect weather. Antigua provides a great place to live. It is safe and has lots of amenities, yet provides easy access to the villages and other cities of Guatemala. Antigua provides a respite from the harsher conditions under which many Guatemalans live. We participate with and often act as dinner hosts to educational and mercy groups that come to Antigua before, after, or during their projects.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to take breakfast on the corridor beside the garden. We often have an evening meal or snack and glass of wine while watching Fuego spout off or watching the clouds passing agua from our second floor patio.
