Fantastic!

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in September. Found it a little hard to find but what a treasure when you do! A beautifully furnished and clean apartment/loft, beautiful surroundings - better than the photos. Veronica and Steven were very kind, more than helpful in answering questions/concerns. Loved the delicious fresh tomatoes from the garden which Veronica kindly let us pick, also raspberries, chard and beetroot. It is a little out of the way, about 15 mins from Amboise, but a pleasant drive. Lots to see and do, 4 nights wasn't long enough. Absolutely recommend it!

Quaint, country apartment

My spouse and in-laws decided to stay here for 2 nights. Steven and Veronica are very nice and willing to provide you with information, maps, gps, and recommendations. The apartment is on the top floor (not exactly an attic) in a farmhouse with loads of sheep, 2 chickens, a horse, and a dog. Keep in mind, the apartment can be difficult to find on the first try and is about 10-15 min from Amboise.

Gorgeous country getaway after glamorous Paris!

Guest: Jelds (Melbourne Australia)
Date of Stay: 07/17/11 Review Submitted: 10/31/11

My partner and two children, 9 and 11 stayed here for close to a week in July this year. Veronica and Steven were charming, warm and fabulous hosts. It was more than we expected. The French countryside is beautifully picturesque and the farmhouse doesn't disappoint. We loved the openness, the fresh air, the green fields and forests and Adem especially loved climbing the huge weeping tree in the front yard. Veronica's hospitality is as sweet as her raspberries and green plums and we're desperate to go back.Thank-you for a wonderful time, it was perfect and I wished we'd stayed longer in Amboise (a gorgeous village with it's own river and Chateau) and the farmhouse! Till next time xx

We just had our first trip to Paris and the countryside and this was THE highlight. The home and property are charming and Veronica and Steven are delightful. The hardest part was leaving to go back to Paris. You should stay here if you if you're visiting the Loire Valley.

Wonderful Retreat!

Guest: Susan (Springfield, Virginia)
Date of Stay: 09/05/10 Review Submitted: 04/25/11

My husband and I spent a lovely 8 days here. It's easy traveling distance to any of the castles and less than 10 minutes from Amboise. The farmhouse is charming and from the entryway to the apartment you have a lovely view of the french countryside (complete with sheep) and the owners sumptuous garden which they shared with us. The kitchen allowed us to take advantage of both the garden and the nearby markets. Madame and Monsieur were very helpful and went above and beyond in giving us information and even taking care of me when I came down with a cold. It was just lovely!!

Le Plessis was all as described in the listing and shown in the photos, and even more. The loft was very comfortable for the 3 of us and even with the warm temperatures, the ceiling fans provided plenty of cool relief. We literally had to make ourselves leave the tranquility of the farm to explore the amazing chateaux and other sights nearby. Everything we wanted to visit was within 15 to 30 minutes from Le Plessis, in various directions - so it is nicely centrally located. Veronica had us feeling at home immediately upon our arrival, and continued to provide suggestions for sights to see and places to eat that she felt we would enjoy -and she was right on! Our favorite activities were to either sit out in the shade with some fresh bread, cheese, and wine or stroll through the garden, grazing on the fruits, especially raspberries. We never ate a breakfast or dinner at the loft without finishing it off with the delicious raspberries (so we considered our walk through the garden as exercise with our dessert!). We enjoyed the sweet Tallulah, reminding us of our dogs back home, and the 3 girls clucking about the yard. I highly recommend Le Plessis to anyone that can slow down and enjoy the peace of the French countryside. Our only regret is that we could not have had a longer visit. We'll just have to start planning our next trip!!

a charming place to stay in the Loire valley

The location of farmhouse is great for anyone who wants to visit the chateaux in the area. Amboise is not too far and we went there repeatedly. It's now one of my favorite places. This loft looks just like it does in the photos. It had everything we needed, and more, (even a sweet dog!) The owners were so helpful: they provided us with lots of information on what was in the area, when were the best times to go places, good restaurants, etc. They left lots of brochures around for us to read. They were also planning to expand the loft to add another bedroom. There is a beautiful ever-expanding flower and vegetable garden in the yard. One of my favorite things to do was listen to the birds in the garden in the morning. It was so relaxing! very different from the honking car horns in the city. The view out the back door was beautiful. Seeing the different green fields made for amazing photographs. It was fun to buy local ingredients and cook a few meals in our kitchen. After a day of sight-seeing, it was nice not to have to go out hunting for a place to eat. We became very fond of the owners and did not want to leave.

An oasis of peace

What could be better than a clean, comfortable, and peaceful apartment in Loire? Veronica and Steve's barn loft is that and much more. They are great hosts and seem to provide everything and more for their guests. We felt at home on the first day and after four days we felt sad to leave our 'farm friends'. The bouquets of fresh flowers on our tables were such a pleasant surprise and made us feel that Veronica and Steve would pamper us, which they did in every way. We had spent five days in their wonderful Paris apartment and loved every minute of that but when we got to the farm we realized how much we needed nature, peace, and quiet. Gypsy, Babette, and the 'red one' Rita (pet chickens) were such a joy as we sat by Veronica’s rose garden to watch the sunset every evening beyond the pasture. We also enjoyed Fabian, their farmer neighbor, who brought his horse Beauty and Beauty's companion Romeo, a goat, to graze in the pasture every day. We would love to be there now to enjoy the harvest of tomatoes and other vegetables from the garden. This is a first class place to stay.

We have always dreamed of staying in an old farm house in France and we found it! Steven and Veronica have done an incredible job transforming this georgeous old farm house on a fabulous 21/2 acre piece of farmland. The loft area of the old house has been converted into a one bedroom suite which is where we stayed. It was so quiet and private. We had our own area of the yard to relax in for reading and dining. The constant company of the 2 pet portuguese chickens made it all the more special. Fresh eggs from their summer home in the mint bush was the crowning glory. To top it off we just fell in love with Steven and Veronica and unlike other VRBO homes we had a special engagement with them as our hosts that will bring us back every time we come to France. We came as tourists and left with dear friends and a place in France we will now call home. Enjoy, enjoy. This a special opportunity.

Many people have stated very eloquently the joy they experienced staying in the loft. They have not exaggerated! Prior to spending 6 days in Paris, my husband and I were there for four days in early June. We had previously been in Normandy and at Mont St Michel for four days. During the two weeks we traveled in France, Le Plessis was FAR and AWAY our favorite place. The country side was gorgeous and the loft attractive, comfortable and cozy. It was great to relax at the farmhouse after a long day of chateau and winery hopping. The very best thing about our stay there was the hospitality displayed by our hostess, Veronica (sadly, we did not get to meet Steven). She was very kind and generous in sharing great information with us about Paris. It is quite obvious that she is a true Francophile. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about traveling to France to visit the Loire Valley and furthermore, to experience Le Plessis, a truely enchanting kingdom.

The loft at Le Plessis is an absolutely idyllic spot! I spent a couple of weekends here and found it both roomy and comfortable. The grounds and views are hearbreakingly beautiful, and so peaceful. It is a great place to simply unwind, to take long walks, or to use as a base for exploring all the Loire Valley has to offer. You will never encounter more friendy, helpful, or hospitable hosts than Steven and Veronica. I highly recommend staying at any of their properties.

We spent a week in April 2008 at Le Plessis and found it to be quite convenient for exploring the Loire River Valley. Visits to the market at Amboise was one of the special treats of this location. The market is large and varied with plenty of parking. The condo is up a short flight of stairs to a private entrance. It is well-appointed with access to cable TV and many books about the local area. Veronica and Steve are delightful hosts who readily share additional information about the area. The immediate countryside provides several attractive routes for walking, jogging or biking. A boulangerie and a good restaurant are nearby when one tires of cooking. Bob and C.K. Wedgeworth

We had the privilege of staying at the farmhouse in April, 2007. It was a wonderful experience. The farm is located a few miles from the town of Amboise and near to many of the famous chateaux in the Loire valley which we visited during our stay. Steven and Veronica made us feel very welcomed. The accommodations were all we envisioned a 200+ year old farmhouse would be. The guest apartment was spacious and quaint, and all the extra amenities had been provided including tourist pamphlets and info about the area, a stack of videos and movies if we wanted to spend a quiet hour in the loft, and fresh farm eggs compliments of Joon and Julie! We had many good conversations with Steven and Veronica and they gave us an opportunity to visit their other gorgeous property which overlooks the chateau in Amboise. We will have no hesitation in revisiting this warm and friendly couple and their wonderful farmhouse on our next visit to France. Denis and Ethel British Columbia

Our time in the loft was wonderful. Steve and Veronica are the most welcoming hosts and were very helpful on where to visit and where to eat. The loft was spotless and very roomy with a wonderful bathroom. One night we cooked dinner using many of the vegetables and herbs picked from the garden. In the mornings we gathered plums and strawberries. The farm was a delightful place to stay and we felt more like we locals and a part of the Loire culture rather than a tourists. As we are animal lovers we also enjoyed the lovely Talulah, who would greet us and make us feel very special. After The Loire Valley we traveled into Paris where Steve and Veronica helped us by giving us many tips on where to visit and where to eat. We loved our time in The Loire Valley and staying at the farmhouse, we would be delighted to recommend it.

Steve and Veronica were the most generous hosts we have ever met! We would recommend this beautiful loft to anyone! It was spotless and had every possible amenity. We had a wonderfully relaxing 5-day stay over Easter (just what we needed after the hustle and bustle of Paris). Our boys enjoyed the farm and long walks in the country! Don't even consider staying anywhere else when you are in the Loire Valley! (If this loft isn't big enough for your needs, they have 2 other beautiful properties in Amboise!)

This was such a wonderful place to stay. We arrived jetlagged and exhausted from our flight from Canada and Steven and Veronica were such wonderful hosts, including giving us dinner on our first night :) Our 2 year old loved the farm animals (esp the sheep) and especially enjoyed picking strawberries and grapes from your garden. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality - it was the highlight of our trip to France!

Our family (17 and 20 year old daughters, my husband and I) loved the farmhouse, the area and the hosts. Great location from which to do day trips to the chateaux, interesting little towns, great meals and wine. Stephen and Veronica were the pefect hosts, providing lots of information and good cheer. We will pass this little gem onto many friends.

An absolutely fabulous place. If you want to get away and be alone in the French countryside, this is great (but also have quick access to Amboise, and the chateaux). Very updated space, plenty of private room outside to "hang out" and be with the animals, etc. Steven was an excellent host, suggesting and then making dinner reservations for us when we arrived late on a Sunday. You won't be disappointed here. We hope to be back someday.

We had a lovely time in the apartment in Amboise. It is clear that it has been lovingly restored and that care comes through in all the comforts and conveniences the apartment offers. The apartment location is superb, and the view is extraordinary, it truly made our vacation very special. Kids and adults alike enjoyed the apartment, the view, the city, and the area, and especially Mme. Bigot's pastry shop. We will definitely be back. In addition, Steven and Veronica were wonderful to deal with, making it a pleasure to rent from them and enjoy the hospitality they put forth.

We have just returned from a week at both of Steven and Veronica's Amboise locations. We were completely satisfied and thrilled with their help, process and interaction at every step of our transaction. They are hands on individuals who are very helpful and knowledgable about the entire region. The apartments have a homey, cheerful and decorative feel which is obviously the result of a great deal of work and thought. You will definitely enjoy either or both of these charming properties.

If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet, bucolic holiday surrounded by charm and in well appointed quarters, here is where you will find it care of the gracious and warm hospitality of Veronica and Steven. We just spent several days in the loft at Neuille le Lierre and found it difficult to leave. Every possible need was tended to in every way. Steven and Veronica were enormously generous in availing their assistance but also in sharing of themselves. Both are extraordinary hosts and people. Our stay in the Loire was made especially wonderful by having found this jewel of a spot. Without reservations, This vacation rental receives the gold medal. Thank you again, Veronica and Steven. We thoroughly enjoyed our April stay in the extra roomy loft at this farm house. (It's bigger than our condo!) We were thrilled to be able to run our hands over the ancient beams and walls (if they could only talk) but also appreciated the modern plumbing. The big soaking tub was delightful after our bike rides through the beautiful surrounding countryside, as was the comfortable bed! We were lucky enough to have georgeous weather enabling us to share a delicious meal outside with our host and hostess one evening. Flo and Maizy's eggs were the best I have ever had but then it was my very first experience collecting fresh eggs from a hen house! We especially appreciated Veronica and Steven's sincere hospitality and local touring tips which added so much to our time in the Loire. The chateaux Chennanceau and Chambord were amazing. We came home feeling like we had been on a delightful vacation instead of a hassle-filled trip. We will definately return to stay at the farmhouse, visit Veronica and Steven again (they feel like old frieds already) and explore more of this beautiful area and all it has to offer. Thank you!
