The description by the owner does not do this home and area justice! The home is always immaculate! Furnishings are awesome for large groups (or for a couple - the chair and 1/2 is perfect to cuddle and watch TV or the fire). Three (or more) "chefs" can easily work in the kitchen without getting in the way of each other! Never "too many cooks." Three couples can all have very private bedrooms, but I've stayed there with six and seven couples and it all works! Beds for everyone in great layouts! The upstairs is all natural wood - even the bathroom (extremely large bathroom, as is the main floor bathroom) and the master suite is stunning, with full length windows - imagine laying in bed and waking up to the view and the sound of one of the clearest, cleanest lakes in Michigan. If you are a sun lover, the dock is the place to park your chair - all day! Had too much sun? The deck has both sun and shade, and there are even a few spots under the trees right alongside the water to read a book alone, in sun or in shade. Bring your water shoes just to wade out; the shore is a bit rocky, but the sandy smooth firm floor soon opens up. Swimming is perfect! You'll have neighbors on one side but rarely see them unless from the boat dock when they are on their dock, too! The home is the perfect base for exploring the wonderland of "Up North." Twenty-five minutes to Traverse City, just a bit longer for Charlevoix. The sand dunes (shouldn't be missed) are a fun drive away, and the city of Elk Rapids can satisfy shopping and eating cravings (10 minutes away, OR kayak or boat over)! There is also a Lake Michigan beach in town - perfect for a picnic! Owners are great to work with! I can't say enough good things about them!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
