Fell in love with Teseque!
Fell in love with Teseque!
My husband and I are frequent visitors of New Mexico and needed a place for an extended stay (month of October) while we looked for property in Santa Fe. We happened upon this gem, nestled in the mountains just above Santa Fe and it changed our minds about living in the city! This home is in a gated community on a large lot, about a 10-minute drive from Santa Fe. While we weren't able to enjoy the pool, tennis or clubhouse in the community because they were closed for the season, it didn't dimish our stay. Hiking was just outside our door and the Teseque Market was a three-minute drive away. The house is designed perfectly for guests as the bedrooms are on either ends of the house with the kitchen and living space in the center. The kitchen was fully equipped and we easily found everything we needed. The home's decorating and furniture were comfortable and very tasteful, especially the artwork. The star gazing was like nothing we had ever seen before and nearly every night we enjoyed cozy fires in the kiva. The house's owner was easy to contact and house's caretaker, lived in the community and was attentive when we had a few questions. We highly recomment this property.

A Lovely July Stay!
A Lovely July Stay!
I agree wholeheartedly with previous reviewers. This is a very nice house in a great area. My wife and I had fallen in love with the Santa Fe area over the years. The mountains, culture and mild climate are a great change from our normal Texas summer experiences. However, our trips were generally no longer than a week or so. This year we decided to try a longer stay. In the past, we had stayed near the plaza, which has it's own rewards in terms of getting around easily by foot. This time we were looking for more room, a kitchen (we love the local food, but eating out gets a bit tiresome, and expensive on a longer time basis), and an outdoor sitting area with a view. It worked out great! I'll add that we were joined by another couple for a few days on two occasions during our stay, and the second bedroom/bathroom worked out very well. We had no significant problems. There was a local caretaker who stayed in touch with us and helped with trash, recycling, watering, etc. The owner made us feel that he was available (by phone, email) to help solve any problem that might arise. All in all - it was a truly lovely July stay!

To celebrate our retirement we chose to go to Santa Fe New Mexico for a month. The home was perfect and exactly what we expected from the VRBO listing. The photos are very representative of the rooms but don't do justice to the views. The home is spacious, well maintained, and very comfortable. We loved the location outside of the busy tourist areas but close enough for daily excursions to the city. We traveled all around to Taos, Los Alamos, Santa Fe National Forrest and Valles Cauldera easily. We had wonderful meals in Santa Fe and were only 5 minutes from the Opera. The neighborhood swimming pool was a huge benefit for us, as the temperatures were unseasonably high the first two weeks of our visit. We had a couple visit for a few days and the separation of the bedrooms and baths was very private. The owner was very helpful and the house manager available. We would definitely stay here again.

It's Easy in Tesuque!
It's Easy in Tesuque!
We spent a full month at this property in Tesuque and were delighted each day. The location is secluded, private (and secure) and oh so quiet yet only minutes from the Plaza, SF Opera and key north and south highways. The house is Southwest inside and out with colors and art that induce both relaxation and excitement. Enjoy 50 mile views from the West facing patio or amble over the surrounding foothills to discover why this is the land of enchantment. The property is very well maintained and the layout is ideal for 2 couples. The owners are very helpful and sincerely interested in making your stay one of wonderful memories. All this and only 5 minutes from the great food and beverage at the Tesuque Village Market!

When studying VRBO listings, we look for accommodations that are not only comfortable but also reflect the tastes and personalities of the owner, not only well located but also architecturally typical of their region, be it Santa Fe or Key West or Paris. This Tesuque Village home easily met these criteria. The pueblo style building nestles among piñon, juniper and purple sage, a classic northern New Mexico landscape crossed by the occasional red dirt road. Located just west of the Santa Fe National Forest, it is remote enough that we were awakened by the sound of coyotes at dawn, but it is only a fifteen minute drive to the Santa Fe Plaza or Canyon Road and even closer to the Opera. And all three can be reached without driving on the freeway. Right next door - but hidden by a low ridge - is the excellent resort, Encantada. Try the steak frites or risotto di giorno in the bar or a full meal in the restaurant. Five minutes away is Tesuque Village Market with its outdoor, wood-fired pizza oven imported from Italy. A little further up the road toward the Plaza is Bishop's Lodge which featured incredible lunch bargains during our visit. The home's furniture and decorations are a harmonious mix of Southwestern, Oriental and contemporary with original paintings hanging on deep-toned walls. Very comfortable. Very attractive. Very Santa Fe. The kitchen is well equipped, the WiFi is fast and reliable, and there is a satellite television, but we never had occasion to turn it on. Viva Tesuque!

About the owner: The two of us have been lucky enough to spend time in and around 'The City Different' for the last 7 years. The land and its people continue to enchant us. Nearly everyday we are granted an amazing show of towering clouds sailing across a deep blue sky and the nights scatter the stars from horizon to horizon. Santa Fe offers culture in so many forms. Fine food, art and museums, American, Spanish, Mexican and Native American history all in one area. We hope that you will come to love the magic of Santa Fe just as we have.
