Thank you Elisa and Tony for making our first winter vacation such a wonderful experience. Even though Arz. weather threw in a little snow to remind us why we were there. The area is so peaceful and serene, we did not want to leave. The casita is beautiful and fully stocked for every situation that could possibly come up. Every thing was exactly as listed. Everyone in Patagonia made us feel like we had lived there our whole lives. Five stars does not adequately rate this casita or the area. We are looking forward to and planning another visit in the futureRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Six of us (three couples) recently stayed at the Hummingbird Casita for two nights while in town for a wine tasting weekend in Sonoita. The Hummingbird Casita was a great place to stay! It was extremely spacious for the six of us. Each couple had their own bedroom and we loved having 2 bathrooms to get ready in in the morning. We enjoyed having a grill and a kitchen to make breakfasts and dinner. We brought a lot of things with us that we didn't need (i.e. mixing bowls, tongs for the grill, etc) as the owners have thought of everything! They even left us a cute note ("Enjoy") with english muffins and cream cheese. Patagonia is convenient enough to Sonoita so staying at the Hummingbird is not too far for a tasting tour. In addition, they have cable tv and wireless internet. You can't go wrong in staying at the Hummingbird, you won't be disappointed if you do! We highly recommend the Hummingbird Casita and hope to visit again soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the lovely casita for several days in March and were very impressed with the comforts and nice touches everywhere. Elisa and Tony made our last minute reservation work and provided everything we needed to make us comfortable for a mid road trip vacation. Good beds, thoughtful touches, clean, nicely appointed, cozy and well planned. Think of something you want, look in the obvious place and it will be there, they have thought of everything! Stay here, you won't be sorry! Owner response: G, Thank you for your great review. We try very hard to make our casita "home". You and B are welcome back any time! Elisa

We stayed at the Hummingbird Casita in Patagonia January 5 and 6, 2012 and loved it. It is like a new little house and has all the comforts of home - great kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, good TV and internet connection. The owners are very easy to work with. It is close to "downtown" Patagonia which has a very good breakfast and lunch restaurant, the Gathering Grounds, and a nice little grocery store. It is close to the Patagonia-Sonoita nature sanctuary and Paton's back yard which are birding hotspots. We saw 38 bird species in two days, including a Western Screech Owl, Green-tailed Towhee, Spotted Towhee, Abert's Towhee, and Canyon Towhee, Broad-billed Hummingbird, and Anna's Hummingbird, and many others.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

You have a beautiful spot here. We appreciated that it was so clean and so well stocked. We ate at the Velvet Pizza- very good. Went horseback riding in Sonoita- Lots of fun for inexperienced riders- we got a lot of good laughs. Of course went to a few wineries and bought way too much wine! All in all a fun girls weekend! This morning we are going to the bird preserve. Thanks for the use of this cute casita. The table, by the way is gorgeous!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you so much- we loved staying here. The casita felt like, and had all the conveniences of home. It was fun being in town and enjoying all that Patagonia has to offer. And one night, when returning from Nogales with groceries, we met 2 good sized javalinas in the driveway... I thought they were going to tackle us for the food! Thanks again- we hope to return again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Dear Elisa, We Absolutely loved this casita! It was wonderful to come "home" to it after exploring the area or while just hanging out waiting for the weater to clear up. Everything in the casita is so nice, new & clean. We have considered contacting you about staying here most of next winter! Hope that tells you how much we loved this place. The people of Patagonia are so friendly & welcoming. We could eat at Mercedes at leat once a day for the whole winter & we even saw a hummingbird in January while sitting by a window there! (A stunning emerald color). The hikes in this area were a pleasure for us & our two dogs- Beatiful scenery and much less rocky than the rest of Arizona. Best of all, we were so comfortable & at home in your lovely casita. Until next time-Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: I grew up in Patagonia, but moved away in my teens. When my husband and I had the opportunity to build a house in Patagonia I was very excited, it was like having a piece of my childhood back. We have been married almost 27 years, have 3 wonderful children and 2 crazy dogs. One day we may move back to Patagonia, but mean while we love sharing our "casita".
Why the Owner Chose Patagonia:
Patagonia a peceful small town in Southern Arizona. Here there are shops and galleries that you can walk to from our casita. Every 4th of July the town puts on a "party", with its own parade, entertainment, and fire works. The first weekend in October there is a art festival with a varitiy of great art and food for sale! A short drive away in Sonoita/Elgin area, there are wineries.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our Hummingbird casita is located just a couple of miles from the Patagonia-Sonoita Bird sanctuary. If you like birding this is the place for you. Patagoina lake is 7 miles away. Boating and swimming areas are available.
Take a peceful walk around town, and discover the great things that Patagonia has to offer.
