Pinecone retreat is a newly built cabin in 2008. It is in a great resort, Spiderlake resort. We are on a chain of 5 lakes. The cabin has a great view to the water and just down the hill is your dock. A little further over are 2 more docks and a swimming area.
This cabin is in a great recreational area. There are many other lakes nearby. Snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter and ATV riding in the summer.
Just 5 miles away is Birchwood with many restaurants and shopping. There is also Doolitle park a great place for the kids to play. Just Rite on Main is a great shopping experience enjoyed year round.
Pinecone retreat is also setup for crafters. We have tables and chairs and a mini kitchen. Scrapbookers love to come here for a peaceful place to work on their projects.
We have all the conveniences of home in a country setting. A FREE bottle of wine or sparkling apple/grape juice awaits your arrival. Call ahead with your selection from our choices.

We booked again for this year! Great place to stay and dog friendly! Clean and lots of attention to details. Right on the ATV trails! Great layout for 2 couples or large family!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners.

The cabin is more like a home than a cabin. It is very clean and well stocked with every thing to make your stay enjoyable.The views are spectacular! The only thing I did not like, was having to go home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

Pinecone Retreat is all that you could ask for in a Northern WI rental and much more. We first stayed at Pinecone February 2012 for a weekend due to work travel and absolutely loved it. It was beyond comfortable and had all that we needed for a comfortable winter stay. We returned this September for a week and couldn’t have had a nicer, more relaxing week. The upper/lower deck allow you to have the best of both worlds, lounging in the sun or overlooking the lake watching the sun come up or down; the loons and humming birds were an added touch. For those that like to cook, the kitchen is very well equipped and quite spacious (with a bottle of wine to start your stay). Our second day there, had the owners bringing over a paddle boat for our use during the week – it was an excellent way to tour the lake and surroundings. Our dog Baxter loved going out in the boat, playing Frisbee in the front yard as well as wading by the pier – lots of ATV trails to walk him on too. Burgers and Fish Fry get a high five at the Spider Lake Saloon. Wonderful! Our family of six recently spent a week at the Pinecone Retreat and loved it! Our three boys had a great time catching fish off the dock, and their haul included bass, bluegills, sunfish and perch. My favorite part of the trip was sitting up on the deck listening to the loons - who just happen to be the coolest birds in the world! The best part for my wife was how clean the house was; the only thing missing was a dishwasher but since I did all the dishes she really had nothing to do but relax and play with the kids! Our neighbors at the Spider Lake Saloon were very friendly and helpful, and their Tuesday Night T-bone was awesome as well. Though we had to cut our vacation short a couple of days due to a scheduled medical treatment, it was still a great time. The kids are talking daily about how much fun they had "....at the cabin up North!"Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had an amazing time at the cabin last week. The lake is so clear and peaceful. The kids loved trying to catch fish with their hands. This was our first trip to the area so we went to all of the area towns and the distance to all was great. The cabin was well stocked and we wanted for nothing. We cannot wait to come back to the beautiful Birchwood area and your cabin. Our stay at Pinecone Retreat was great. Sometimes you wonder how long ago the pictures posted on the website were taken, but we booked this wonderful place for our weeks vacation in the summer. It had everything we could ask for except a pool, which is my 11 year old daughters requirement. It was on the ATV trails, we could take our 4 legged family member & there was a place to swim in the lake. It is a beautiful place. My husband couldn't believe this was the right house we were going to stay in for the week when we pulled down the driveway where Jean greeted us. The house is perfect, the kids had their own room & bathroom downstairs & we had our upstairs. The covered deck in the mornings was awesome to sit & listen to the loons & watch the sun shine on the lake. Thank goodness for the air conditioning. It was definitely warm when we were there & the skeets were not to fun, but we loved every minute of it. Very relaxing with everything you need, just like you were at your own home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners.

We had a great Labor Day weekend at Pinecone Retreat. The home is very clean, nicely decorated, and really comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need. We had a relaxing time on the pontoon. Even though it was cool, the kids enjoyed jumping into the water from the swimming dock. We also enjoyed the Spider Lake Saloon at the end of the drive way. Thank you for the complimentary bottle of wine...it was wonderful. We wish we could have stayed longer. Next time we'll bring our ATV's!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

We loved the Pinecone Retreat. Seven of us were very comfortable. Large enough so we were not at all cramped but small enough to give us "together" time. The deck is the perfect place to unwind from anything stressful. We loved to just sit and watch the lake. The owners were great about everything. We rented the pontoon and spent time jumping in the water. Very nice lake for that. Did not have much luck with fishing, although we did not expect August to be a good time of year for that. I would highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, age 55+.

Pinecone Retreat is a great family get-away. Perfect for the 6 of us with indoor and outdoor options for everything. Huge yard for kids, and a large deck that has a great view of the lake. Be sure to check out the sunsets from the deck...gorgeous! We spent more time on the deck than in the house, and it made it so nice for the dog. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want to prepare whatever you have in mind. No need to think "will they have a...." Trust me...it's there! Beds were comfy; bathrooms are nicely done - and there's even a mini-kitchen in the family room. Jean has a way with 'northwoods' decorating, and it feels like home. They take exceptional care of the place, inside and out. This isn't a busy 'mega-resort' with jet skis and a golf course. But if you're looking for a place to do a little fishing, swimming, ride your ATV or just kick back, this is the spot.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

The cabin was beautiful and clean! Wonderful scenic view from deck! The kitchen was all set to step into to cook! We enjoyed the rowboat (motor included) for taking out on the lake to fish. I would recommend staying here, a very comfortable home away from home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

About the owner: Jean Boatman, I am a vacation home owner along with my husband Wayne. My husband drives truck and I am an interior decorator/painter. We built and designied this cabin with comfort and up north decor in mind.
Why the Owner Chose Birchwood:
This home is for our enjoyment now and later when we retire. We have been managing a campground in this resort and love the area. There are so many great places to dine out & shop. We enjoy The Birchwood Cafe and Just Right On Main for dining and shopping. We decided to build when the new lots became available and were first to get the best veiw of the lake.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We enjoy the people who come into this area. There is fishing, Atv trails and many nice shopping and entertaining things to do in the area. There is snowmobile trails in the winter and ice fishing or just relaxing in this comfy cabin. I also designed the basement to be either a family game area or it can be transformed into a space for scrapbooking and other crafts for up to 8 people.
