We had an amazing time at the cabin last week. The lake is so clear and peaceful. The kids loved trying to catch fish with their hands. This was our first trip to the area so we went to all of the area towns and the distance to all was great. The cabin was well stocked and we wanted for nothing. We cannot wait to come back to the beautiful Birchwood area and your cabin. Thanks again for opening your cabin to us.

We had a great Labor Day weekend at Pinecone Retreat. The home is very clean, nicely decorated, and really comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need. We had a relaxing time on the pontoon. Even though it was cool, the kids enjoyed jumping into the water from the swimming dock. We also enjoyed the Spider Lake Saloon at the end of the drive way. Thank you for the complimentary bottle of wine...it was wonderful. We wish we could have stayed longer. Next time we'll bring our ATV's!

Great Place to Unwind

We loved the Pinecone Retreat. Seven of us were very comfortable. Large enough so we were not at all cramped but small enough to give us "together" time. The deck is the perfect place to unwind from anything stressful. We loved to just sit and watch the lake. The owners were great about everything. We rented the pontoon and spent time jumping in the water. Very nice lake for that. Did not have much luck with fishing, although we did not expect August to be a good time of year for that. I would highly recommend this property.

Our Summer Up North Vacation

Our stay at Pinecone Retreat was great. Sometimes you wonder how long ago the pictures posted on the website were taken, but we booked this wonderful place for our weeks vacation in the summer. It had everything we could ask for except a pool, which is my 11 year old daughters requirement. It was on the ATV trails, we could take our 4 legged family member & there was a place to swim in the lake. It is a beautiful place. My husband couldn't believe this was the right house we were going to stay in for the week when we pulled down the driveway where Jean greeted us. The house is perfect, the kids had their own room & bathroom downstairs & we had our upstairs. The covered deck in the mornings was awesome to sit & listen to the loons & watch the sun shine on the lake. Thank goodness for the air conditioning. It was definitely warm when we were there & the skeets were not to fun, but we loved every minute of it. Very relaxing with everything you need, just like you were at your own home.

Pinecone Retreat is a great family get-away. Perfect for the 6 of us with indoor and outdoor options for everything. Huge yard for kids, and a large deck that has a great view of the lake. Be sure to check out the sunsets from the deck...gorgeous! We spent more time on the deck than in the house, and it made it so nice for the dog. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want to prepare whatever you have in mind. No need to think "will they have a...." Trust me...it's there! Beds were comfy; bathrooms are nicely done - and there's even a mini-kitchen in the family room. Jean has a way with 'northwoods' decorating, and it feels like home. They take exceptional care of the place, inside and out. This isn't a busy 'mega-resort' with jet skis and a golf course. But if you're looking for a place to do a little fishing, swimming, ride your ATV or just kick back, this is the spot.

Beautiful cabin

The cabin was beautiful and clean! Wonderful scenic view from deck! The kitchen was all set to step into to cook! We enjoyed the rowboat (motor included) for taking out on the lake to fish. I would recommend staying here, a very comfortable home away from home.

What a week. 1/2 the week was sunny and goergeous and the other 1/2 wet and windy. Doolittle Park is an excellent place for taking the family swimming and its only 5 miles away. We had great times by the campfire and playing card games. The first night we caught tons of fish- I caught about a 36" northern- but lost him on the way to the net. Crappies were great early evenings-200 feet off our dock. Endless nights & early mornings sitting on the covered deck. Was so peaceful and relaxing. Such a fun get away- I can't believe it's over already. Kim & Russ & family The best part of the trip was that I caught a fish-we found Doolittle Park- I learned how to play the card game, golf and won them all. Noah (age 7) The best part about this vacation was that we found Doolittle Park and it is a nice and peaceful place to swim, tan and relax, Oh, and play. I also liked fishing on the lake, Oh and thanks for a nice vacation place. and this vacation house has a really nice veiw of the lake. Jordan (age 10)

We really loved this cabin! The kids and the grandkids had a great time. We did see a small bear about a mile from here... the wildlife is neat to see. Beautiful cabin, beautiful veiw! Our idea of a "cabin in the woods". with many luxuries. Margaret & Dan We think we found a pot of gold by finding this place-a little piece of paradise! So comfortable and quiet with just enough voices in the distance. We loved it here and couldn't have had a better time. You have truely created a heaven-on-earth. This place is amazing! We loved the cozy cabin decor and all the touches of home. We didn't want for anything! We caught a load of carappie, a few nice bass and a few smaller northern.(hint to those who fish- 7 to 8pm) We had a nice fish fry. Loved the trails and the beautiful peaceful scenery. We came for a fabulous scrapping weekend-the five of us got quite a bit done. We had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful cabin and pretty lake setting. We look forward to coming back. We came to "Pinecone Retreat" for a nice weekend of scrapbooking. I studied and did some schoolwork and my sister & friends scrapbooked the days away. This is a great relaxing cabin & I will suggest it to friends and family. We enjoyed how comfortable we felt & will come back. Thank you for sharing you wonderful getaway.
