  We had a great time on our vacation to Canaan Valley. The house was fantastic! It had everything we could have asked for. It was close to the slopes and had a great sledding hill behind it for the boys! Thank you again for everything!

  We had a great time at Black Bear and Canaan. There was lots of snow on the ground and our young children enjoyed sledding near the house their first time on skis at Timberline. The cabin was plenty big enough for 4 adults and 3 young children. We could not find wine glasses- I guess previous guests had been having too much fun!

  The unit was very well maintained and stocked. The kitchen is very modern with almost all small appliances you will need. The second frig was a nice touch. Great view of the Valley from the upper deck. The pool was nice as well as the tennis courts. However, Mini Golf was in bad shape, but we were told that is schedule for an upgrade this fall. The staff at the Black Bear Lodge were very helpful and took care of a few small concerns that we had. We would stay there again, and would like to come down to ski this winter

  I can't say enough about what a wonderful time we had at this beautiful home. The house is in excellent shape in a great resort area with a playground, pool and miniature golf within a very short walking distance. The house layout is perfect for a vacation with a large group of people with a beautiful open kitchen and large dining table. The upper and lower decks accommodated all kinds of weather. Canaan Valley is beautiful and the location of the house and the view was incredible. We will definitely rent this home again!

  My husband, son and children and I just returned from a most wonderful week at the Black Bear Resort. There aren't enough words to describe this beautiful home - the pictures absolutely do not do it justice.The kitchen is beautiful and very well stocked - you don't need to bring a thing from home for cooking.Every single room is gorgeous and very well stocked.Views are fantastic from every part of this resort. The pool was wondeful! We played golf, went horseback riding, went blueberry picking, biking and just had the best vacation ever. If you plan on going to the Black Bear Resort, I would recommend this home. You definitely will not be disappointed in any way. We are hoping to return next year and my son and children are definitely looking forward to returning again. Thanks so much for opening up your beautiful home to visitors! This was our very first visit to this resort and it won't be the last!! One wonderful vacation - thanks so very much!!

  We have been coming to Canaan Valley for over 20 years and we think this is the best house we have stayed in. It is absolutely beautiful inside and well-appointed. My favorite thing about the house is the view and wrap around porches. It was a bit chilly while we were there, but I could not resist going out and sitting in the glider chairs to take in the view. We will be coming back to Canaan later in the year, and I hope we can stay in this house again.

  The condo was great.It was beautifully designed and equipped with everything we could need. An added plus was having really comfortable beds. The only issue at all is that it is advertised as sleeping 10. That would mean 4 people sharing a very small room. The beds are there, but it would be difficult for 4 adults.

  Owner response: We try very hard to keep it stocked for our guests. The bedding has comfortable pillow tops. It is hard to choose because everyone is so different but we do stay there with family and friends so we would hear it if the bedding was not up to par.:) The lower level bedroom has it's own televevision and privacy deck. The room is a good size bedroom with the 2 twin daybeds. The daybeds are equipped with comfortable bedding and trundels with twin mattress.When you have all 4 of the beds in use while sleeping it can be less roomy. The trundels can be easily tucked back under the daybeds to add more room during the day.

  This cabin was actually nicer than the photos implied. There are a lot of higher-end upgrades throughout the house. The decorative style made it feel very cozy and home-like. The resort office was extremely helpful whenever we called for local information regarding stores, pharmacies etc. They even loaned us a saw to make a fresh cut on our Christmas tree! This was the first time we have spent Christmas away from home with our children and it was by far one of the best holidays ever! I can't remember a time I have been more relaxed over a break. The kids made homemade tree decorations and baked cookies for Santa! It was truly magical! Thank you to the owners for sharing your home at Christmas. The area has so much to offer as well. My husband enjoyed several nature walks, the Dolly Sods and we all went tubing. Unfortunately, the there was less snow than usual this year but the kids still had a chance to sled next to the cabin. I would highly recommend this cabin and location!!
