Snowbird is one of the premiere trout fishing destinations in North Carolina. Our large covered back deck lends itself to quiet mornings listening only to the sounds of Snowbird running by.

Snowbird is a featured trout stream but many are located within minutes such as Slickrock, Santeetlah and Hazel. Local attractions: Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Tsali Recreation Area for Mountain Biking & Horseback Riding, Nantahala White Water Rafting, Foothills Parkway, Cherohalo Skyway, Smoky Mountain Scenic Railway. We are within an hour of Cherokee, NC, The "Tail of the Dragon" at Deals Gap is only minutes away (our driveway is well suited for motorcycles).

Our cabin is wood throughout giving it a rustic appeal with all of the modern conveniences one is accustomed to. Our cabin has two bedrooms sharing a bath and a separate master bedroom with its own private bath and views of Snowbird. The kitchen and living room are open to each other with a high vaulted ceiling and exposed beams.

Day trips to nearby attractions include Maggie Valley, Asheville NC (Biltmore House), Cades Cove , Great Smoky Mountain Park, Cherokee NC, Harrah's Casino.

Spent most of my stay fishing but it was a great place to return and relax. Very clean with all the amenities. This is a great place for a relaxing retreat and a great place for a centrally located base for fly fishing. Caught a 12 inch Brown trout 35 feet from the back deck. The owner is very gracious and easy to deal with. He spent time and money on detail and it shows. Very nice place.

This was my first time staying at this Cabin....it won't be my last. My Buddy and I have fished Snowbird Creek and the surrounding area for many years and this Cabin made it all the more enjoyable. The Cabin sits on a Great Trout Stream in the Riverview section on a small one car road. All the desired amenities are there....Wifi, Rustic Decor, Nice Kitchen with up-to-date Appliances and even a TV that we almost never used. The layout features a central Great-Room, with Kitchen and Living areas combined....and bedrooms on either side. Coffee on the back porch by the stream in the mornings was perfect. There is also a grill out back. Intelligently laid out and nicely appointed, this Cabin will fill most anyone's needs who wants to get away from it all. If you like Trout Fishing, you'll appreciate it even more. It is Off the beaten path....but not too far from anything. Thanks Mike, for a Great Stay....D

What a wonderful week we had! I have to start with saying that a week is too short! My sisters, my mom and myself just wanted to relax and have a nice girls vacation and this was the perfect place for that. The cabin is beautiful and we loved sitting on the porch. There was a bonus to sitting outside and that was the neighbors dogs. We are all dog lovers and enjoyed their company daily which help us from missing ours. Cooter the lab had us all laughing as he stuck his head under water to get rocks. He has a new buddy we called "Dougie" who was just as sweet and then there was Copper from across the creek and across the street. He came over early every morning. Sitting in the creek was very relaxing. We made a fire and had s'mores and cooked dinner in the kitchen almost every night. Thanks for having a variety of pots/pans, utensils, toaster, crockpot, coffee maker, and more! We went to Cherokee and then Cades Cove and decided to take a different way home. What we didn't know was it was the "Dragons Tail"! We would not recommend driving this road in a full size SUV at midnight! Very scary!! The last day we were there we found a local swimming area. Wish we knew about this on day one. It's only 15min from the cabin. All in all what a great week we had. Thanks Mike for sharing your home with us!

This was our third stay here and each time has been better than the last. The fishing was great!! My wife and I spent most of our evenings on the porch, watching the the stream and listening to our Sirius boom box, a must have. We had two dinners at the Snowbird Mountain Lodge, which I would recommend to anyone. The bar and bartender were amazing!! We are already planning our next trip and the only place we would stay is here. Thank you Mike!!

The pictures definitely do not do justice to the beauty of this cabin and area. We have stayed in western North Carolina 4 times now and this is on the top of our list of favorite places to stay. Enjoyed fishing in the creek, being visited by Cooter the neighbor's dog, riding on the Great Smoky Mountain railroad and whitewater rafting at the Nantahala river. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting rest and relaxation in one of the most beautiful areas of the country.

This place was great. It is in the back country and secluded nice and quiet. We had fires in the fire pit fished in the creek, unfortunately it wasnt trout season and we had no idea and got fined 215.00 dollars but other than that the stay was great. This cabin had everything you could need the lay out was great. There were family game and magazines. On the back porch there were two nice rockers and 2 fold out chairs that were really nice. The water in the showers was good pressure. Suprisingly the water tasted great from the tap. All the appliances were new and the washer and dryer didnt look fancy but they washed and dry really well and quick they were better than the ones i have here at home. I honestly can say I would stay there again. We visited cherokee gatlinburg and pigeon forge which were all nice days trips and we walked the joyce kilmer memorial trail not far from the cabin -- great place to take a picnic. We also drove the dragon tail - 11 mile stretch with 313 curves we only did that coming into nc. and leaving. this cabin is so new and nice we have two children and brought my older sister and had plenty of room. The owner Mike was more than easy to work with. Real nice guy. That area is so beautiful. Overall very happy with our trip!

This rustic cabin is so comfortable and very nicely decorated. The setting is gorgeous with all the trees and flowing Snowbird Creek. Fishing or tubing is right out the back door. We really enjoyed the relaxing quietness and cooking out on the backyard grill. Rocking on the porch was quite special, because Cooter, the yellow lab from next door, would come visit and play. The cabin is conveniently located to town, to countless scenic drives, and so many things to do. The beautiful unspoiled wilderness of this area always keeps us coming back. Vettes and cycles can access OK, and BYOB as Graham County is dry.

We greatly enjoyed our three night vacation at the cabin. It was cozy yet spacious! My husband and I were alone, but it was big enough for the whole family. We enjoyed the swing by the water and the rocking chairs on the back porch. The quiet road was a great place to take evening walks. The pictures do not do the cabin justice. It was beautiful and very clean! We enjoyed the falls at the end of the Cherohala Skyway and the Indian Boundary Lake(definitely worth the trip off the main road)! We hope to come back soon!!

We cannot say enough about this beautiful cabin, other than it is truly a mountain gem. We were very impressed with this VERY CLEAN, WELL MAINTAINED cabin. We enjoyed everything from the Appalachian décor adorned throughout, the constantly running stream over the river rock to the local resident yellow lab that made us feel welcome and at home while were there. As I enjoyed my time reading in the swing overlooking the stream the yellow lab joined my husband as he fished and patiently watched as he landed a Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and a Small Mouth Bass. This cabin is conveniently located to most area attractions in the Southeastern Smoky Mountains. We visited Cades Cove via the Dragons Tail, which was a very exciting ride. Gatlinburg was about 2 hours away and quite an easy ride. On another day trip we went white water rafting; all within 15 to 20 minutes away. Thank you for the hospitality you show your guest; it truly shows you want to make sure we have a great time and we did!!! We are already planning another trip in the fall to experience the leaves changing colors. Again thank you, The Turner Family St. Cloud, Florida 7/10/2011
