We spent Christmas at this lovely cabin, it was perfect in every way. We plan a return visit during the summer months but we had such a peaceful, comfortable, relaxing time here. Thank you.

We stayed at Blacktail while in southern Oregon for my daughter's spring wedding. It was so tranquil and quiet and a perfect place with enough space to house all of the extra wedding gear we had packed. Very clean and everything was in perfect working order. I would definitely stay here again. A lovely cottage at a very reasonable rate.

Gorgeous countryside, great hosts, delicious breakfasts

If photos of a given property evoke your interest, usually the next step is to contact the owner/operator. You'll be pleased to talk with Tim or Lee Mobley, who'll gladly fill you in on what they offer. You'll get a good feeling from that conversation. You'll find that impression confirmed as you drive into the deeply rural backroads of southwest Oregon, finally coming up a long driveway to see your break from it all. The actual Blacktail Lodge sits separate from the owners' home, where you'll meet around their dining table for tasty and attractively-presented dishes. You may find it hard to give due attention to that breakfast, though, as the spacious dining/living room displays a wide variety of art and cultural objects from around the world. Tim offered us stories on several -- more than my memory can hold. Another serious distraction from the breakfast, of course, draws your eyes away from the dining table to the lush greenery outside. Blacktail offers a great hub for exploring southwest Oregon. If you prefer the active outdoor getaway, you can see Crater Lake, go fly fishing, and hike the woods. Would you rather take it easy? Grab a good book and lounge outside. Just remember to glance up occasionally to take in the gorgeous view. You may even happen to see a deer or two walking cautiously nearby. Inside the spacious guest lodge you'll find two very comfy beds, a full kitchen, and stylish baths. When you turn in for the night, knowing that you're the only guests provides a warmer, richer sense of privacy than the typical B&B with several bedrooms (not that there's anything *wrong* with that). My only regret: my wife and I had only one evening here. We planned an overambitious schedule to see too much of Oregon and Washington in one week. If we return, I'd much rather plan for 3-4 nights at Blacktail, taking a variety of day trips. Within an hour or so from Blacktail I can visit the shore, hike a forest trail, visit Crater Lake, and more. Whatever you'd like to see in SW Oregon, Blacktail offers a real value. Sensibly priced, unique surroundings, friendly and helpful hosts -- the whole package. STRONGLY recommended.

Owner response:This reviewer mentioned breakfast. We do offer breakfast at an additional cost. If you are interested in breakfast please ask when calling.

Stayed at this place while visiting Crater lake, Redwood forests and surrounding areas. Its a beautiful house at a great locale, the house is also well maintained and tastefully decorated. First time using VRBO after being referred it by a friend and have to say no more hotels for me :)

Owner response:Thanks for the kind words. Our goal is for our guests to want to return.
