45 minutes E. of Riverhead you will come to the causeway. Slow down pass a farm stand, a chocolate shop, then turn R onto Village La. The Village of Orient, general store, post office, Poquatuck Hall and the historic buildings of the Oysterponds Museum. On your R, Orient Harbor. E. of the village, you will come to Old Farm Rd. Turn in at 1020 to Sunbay. Walk past the brick patio and come on in!
On the left a country kitchen with 3 rocking chairs, and a farm table that seats eight. Beautifully equipped for cooking, the kitchen is a natural gathering place. On the right, the master suite with full bath. Out of the bedroom and to the R. the living room with double height ceiling and many windows. It is light, airy and designed for comfort. Go onto the deck, across the lawn, thru the gap in the wild rose bushes, follow the path to the pool. Solar heated it is delightful at any time of day. Also for sheer bliss don't overlook the hammock. Back inside, go upstairs to 2 good sized bedrooms and a full bath. All bedrooms have overhead fans, as do the kitchen and living room.
Nearby are sound and bay beaches, and hiking trails; a short ferry ride from Greenport to Selter Island provides more hiking and a nature reserve. Continue on to the South Ferry to Sag Harbor and the South Fork. Closer to home; yard sales, bike rides, beach swimming,golf, tennis, clamming or bird watching. Eat in (fresh produce, fish and shellfish) or dine out in Greenport and beyond. Shop, take a Harbor cruise at sunset, go to Mitchell Park for a band concert or play, and ride the historic carousel. Or do nothing! Stay home and read the books you brought, play croquet, cards, board games, star gaze from the deck and swim morning, noon and night, and then sweet dreams!
